A small disclaimer before I begin my review. I dont go occasionally to upscale restaurants. Therefore, this review reflects my subjective experience alone. I went to Citron with my wife to celebrate her birthday. Our first impression was that the place tries to project high class appearance. For example the valet services, the manners of the staff etc. The only thing that went out of character in this respect were the sport screens above the bar. For appetizer we shared a sort of cheese and sausage sampler plate and a wedge salad. I must say that the sampler was very interesting since it manage to combine variety of tastes in one plate. Nevertheless the price tag was very high. For entrée we shared the lamb chops and a chicken breast pasta. The 4 pieces lamb chops were really good, and made to perfection. The side stuffed tomatoes on the other hand were a bit sour to our taste. The chicken breast pasta was very good as well good sized portion. The desert manu should had more variety in our opinion. We ordered a bourbon creame cake. It was nice. Overall, we had a good experience in Citron. However, for this price tag we also expected to get a "wow factor" - which we did not.

WOW -- WERE WE AT CITRON OR MCDONALDS?. AFTER WAITING 90 MINUTES FOR OUR FOOD, THE WAITER ADMITTED THAT THEY SERVED PART OF OUR ORDER TO ANOTHER TABLE. THEY THEN PUT IN ANOTHER ORDER OF MUSCLES WHICH WAS BROUGHT SIZZLING, BUT RAW AND INEDIBLE. - EVEN A BEGINNING CHEF KNOWS THAT IF THE MUSCLES DON"T OPEN THEY ARE RAW AND CANNOT BE CONSUMED. -THE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD NOT CHARGE FOR THE RAW FOOD (GOSH THAT WAS NICE) AND WOULD GIVE US DESERTS "ON THE HOUSE" -- BUT HE FORGOT TO TELL THE WAITER. SO WE JUST GOT OUR CHECK (AFTER SEARCHING FOR OUR WAITER AGAIN) AND LEFT. CHARLES, THE OWNER OVERHEARD ALL OF THIS BUT COULD CARE LESS AND NEVER GOT INVOLVED BECAUSE HE WAS TOO BUSY SITTING AT THE NEXT TABLE SMOOZING FOR 20 MINUTES WITH ONE OF HIS REGULARS. THIS WAS OUR 3RD VISIT TO CITRON, THE FIRST 2 BEING MEDIOCRE, OTHER THAN THE BEAUTIFUL VIEW, BUT THIS IS THE LAST.....NO LOSS SINCE THIS PLACE WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS WITHIN A YEAR UNLESS THEY GET IT TOGETHER.

I received a gift card for my anniversary and my husband and I went last night. The restaurant is pretty, but when I saw the menu, the prices are outrageous. I dont mind fine dining, but the service was not very attentive. I had to wait for everything, server was no where to be found. The muscles were huge, which I was excited about, but then I had 1 bad muscle and one had stuff in that was hard and I cracked my tooth. Very upsetting. My husband didnt like his dinner and didnt eat it (pasta) and I enjoyed mine, but had already cracked my tooth, so I couldnt eat and had to pack ti to go. For a place charging this kind of money in the middle of Pikesville, the food and service should have been top notch and it was far from that. I hate writing bad reviews, but my tooth sent me over the edge due to the muscles that I was served.

I was looking forward to spending a nice evening and celebrating my younger sisters birthday. The location and decor was great the rest of the evening not so much. The wait staff wasnt very personable. The food was mediocre at best and for the prices that they charge it doesnt make sense. They also have the most ridiculous policy of not being able to bring in specialty desserts to celebrate a special event. Having dined at numerous restaurants in the metropolitan area that are more high-end than this establishment it was disappointing to have spent so much money and to have received such poor service. I will not be returning to this establishment and will make sure that everybody in my network knows what my experience was like.

Beautiful dining atmosphere, attentive server. But food was meh. Was there for lunch. Had the crab omelet (crab, spinach, cheese). Appeared to have been made in a pre-shaped pan as 2 of us ordered the same thing and they appeared identical in shape and thickness. Not a bad thing if they werent overdone. The eggs were tough. I asked for blue cheese in the omelet, but it sure didnt come across as bleu. The bourbon chocolate cake was, with exception of the icing, without any discernable flavor. Dont think Id go back, but maybe dinner choices are better.

Citron was an amazing experience. First, the restaurant is beautiful. Right on the lake. Our server was Lazarus. He was really knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails. But the best part was that he gave us a tour of the entire place at the end of the night. He told us what plans they had for the place, where we could have private events, and took us to see the water. We will certainly be back!

A disappointment overall. Restaurant is very pretty (although not sure why we were seated in the side room rather than than the main area) and service was excellent. But the food was just OK (scallops excellent, but both crab cake and salmon too salty). And for the prices being charged (only hamburger and children entrees are under $30), food should have been excellent.

The restaurant was beautiful.. the food was excellent... expensive but I dont mind paying for food as long as its good and this was exceptional. My only negative comment is... it was a special anniversary for us (which they noted)... and they could of provided a complimentary dessert. Other then that... we loved it and would return.

The planning for a friends 60th birthday party went very smoothly, thanks to Charles Levines excellent staff and his wonderful attention to detail throughout the evening. Terrific food, quick bar service and beautiful patio and private party room helped create the atmosphere for an evening filled with lasting memories!!

Amazing place to eat It surpasses some of the best NYC restaurants. The owner is extremely nice guy and very accommodating. They hand craft the food, its an experience not just a dinner. I think Michelin should give it 5 stars. Wow is the word to describe my experience.

Had an incredible experience. Great drink selection, food is even better! I ordered the Osso Buco and the meat was amazingly tender. The polenta side is worth mentioning on its own. A great pairing. I will definitely be back!

Good food and beautiful place. Need to work on bar staff and hostess customer service for all. I couldnt help feeling like my kind was not who they really wanted there.
