First off: It blows my mind that this place has so many great reviews. Ive never felt the need to get online and leave a bad review of a restaurant until today after I had breakfast at Airmont Diner with my boyfriend and his brother. Im just going to go ahead and break this down into a simple pros/cons list Pros: -Nice waitress. -Boyfriends brother lucked out and just ordered a box of cereal and a bagel. Kind of hard to mess those up. Cons: -When we were seated, the greeter sat down our menus at a table and then walked away without saying a word. Then someone came and gave us each a water and walked away without even acknowledging the "thank you"s that came from the table. -Bacon was all fat, soft/chewy and GREY! My boyfriend had a side of bacon and I had it in a breakfast wrap. He didnt touch his and I got sick shortly after breakfast because of the bit of the wrap that I tried to force down. -Pancakes were chewy and dry. I didnt even know it was possible to mess up pancakes unless you burn them. -Prices are a bit high for diner food. Especially diner food of below average quality. Ill usually try a place once more when Im let down by it, but this place just left an overall bad taste in my mouth. Literally. Never again.

The quality of the food is inconsistent. I had been going there for a few months when in the area and had some good experiences with breakfast and lunch. Often enough to be a "regular." The last two times the breakfast was once burned, but today the food was stone cold. Of course I rejected the dish. What I find unsatisfactory is that they attempt to fix the item that is badly prepared rather than remake the whole plate so you can have everything hot at the same time. It is very unsatisfactory to have half your meal getting cold while waiting for the "repair." Today, the home fries were cold. The host chose to argue with me when I requested a hot meal all at once. He touched the plate saying it was hot. I was forced to put some cold potatoes in his hand to show him the food was cold. As if I dont know what hot food is! You can serve ice cubes on a hot plate.... I give the Airmont one star for deplorable customer service. Two stars for undependable food quality. Its a shame.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Ate here twice (both times for breakfast) during a recent stay in Rockland county. Food was perfectly prepared, prices reasonable, service was just a little slow b/c we came both times when they were "hopping" busy, but we easily got our waiters attention and were very satisfied, overall. He gladly gave us coffee refills in our travel mugs when it was time for us to get back on the road. Were moving to Rockland county this summer from Cincinnati and Ive already bookmarked this place as one of our favorites. There are NO Greek diners (and no 24-hr diners of any kind) in Cincinnati and Ive really missed them, being a native NY-er. This place met all my expectations. Some reviews of this place mentioned rudeness and inhospitality. Our experience was to the contrary. My guess is that the customers own rudeness and impatience was returned in kind. If youre not demanding and rude, as a customer, but respectful and polite, youll be treated in like manner anywhere you go.

Me and two friends when there 45 minutes before they were closing. When walking in the waiter said they were only taking to-go orders since they were closing soon. I said that we would eat quickly and would be out before closing. He then sat us when the "owner" came over, bobby periadico, and said they were only taking to-go orders. I told him the same thing, if the food came or quickly we would eat quickly and leave before 12. He then got angry and said he wouldnt serve us at all and told us we had to leave. I have never been treated so poorly to the point that the table next to us stopped me on the way out to apologize and state how astounded they were by the lack of service. I urge you not to go to this diner unless you feel like being treated like a circus animal. My friends and I ended up at the Taco Bell down the road which was the best service and the best food and exactly what we needed after that nightmare "owner"!!

This is by far the best experience my family and I have received at any restaurant/diner!! Thank you ALL for taking my family in after being broken down across the street at the Howard Johnson. After Howard Johnsonss poor management not allowing us to stay in their lobby for an hour with the brutal cold temperatures on 12/06/14 and pouring rain as well as 7 children, Airmont Diner allowed my famiy as well as my older brothers family to stay while waiting for our tow truck and ride home. Hot coffee and hot chocolate with whipped cream was so perfect and creamy...it warmed us up and made our wait more enjoyable!! We did not order anything else, however, viewing everyone elses orders and the service given to them was outstanding!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the surrounding area or just getting off the highway to grab a bite to eat! Thank you ALL and God Bless!!

Stopped in for lunch 6/24 while traveling thru. Ordered the brisket on rye. Service was good and the meal timely BUT...that first bite revealed a tasteless and VERY RUBBERY brisket. Difficult to chew...came with a cup of gravy that, when applied, added 0 taste. Did not eat it and told server my opinion that it was the worst brisket sandwich Id ever had. He took plate away and saw him mention something to DINO, who looked up at us. Expected something from them like an apology or at least to take it off the check but that didnt happen! In fairness, my wifes chicken sandwich was very good. Had us pegged as tourists I guess. Wouldnt ever go back.

DO NOT EAT HERE!! This diner is absolutely disgusting!! I worked there and it is the worst place to eat. First of all, its owned and managed by a bunch of heroin addicts and coke heads. One of the managers gets high all day in the bathroom. The other gets high in his car. In the kitchen, not a single person uses gloves. They smoke cigarettes in there - while cooking your food. I`ve watched some of the staff accidentally drop the ash in food and continue to cook and serve it. Ive seen them drop food on the floor, pick it up and serve it. --Brooke =]

If I could give it a zero I would! Food was toasted to oblivion, which is never a good start. Add to that that we were charge $10.49 for a $9.99 sandwich that was supposed to include fries - but didnt. Overall, I WOULD NEVER recommend this dump to anyone. When we pointed out the billing mistake the boss told us we must pay full price even if we didnt want fries. Hello, WE WANTED THE FRIES, but your waiter didnt bring them!. WORST experience ever. Pros- The coffee wasnt terrible Cons- Everything else. Especially the price for this food.
