I have come to this place for many years and I can say after today I will NEVER be back. First the soda was extremely watered down then when they brought the "steak" it was a flipping hamburger patty. They finally brought a real steak and it was raw, barely even browned on each side. When they took it and cooked it some more they left all the blood on the plate with the mashed potatoes and gravy. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I can get better service from a concession stand at a ball field. Also beware the manager is very condescending, rude, and fake.

Weve been wanting to try this place for a while for their fried chicken. Be prepared to wait a little longer (25 minutes) for the Chicken to be freshly prepared. The chicken was delicious and served piping hot. The seasoning in the breading was perfect. The chicken and the banana cream pie were the highlights. The sides were just okay. The mashed potatoes were not smooth and creamy and gravy was too think and gelatanous. If you go get the two piece chicken snack and a piece of pie. Skip the rest.

The food is just ok. We went there a couple of times. The second time, almost everybody leaving had a complaint. One person sat for almost half an hour just to get a check. Another couple waited for almost 45 minutes for food, then found egg shells in it. We also saw a waitress eating tomato while in the dining area, then proceed to roll silverware without washing her hands first. Thats disgusting. We also waited a fair amount of time for our check. We will definitely not be going back.

Good food, a couple of mistakes. If you want mayo on your sandwhich they bring you a cup of it and you put it on yourself. Do I work here? Update.... two trips here and we will never be back. Who the hell puts corned beef on a philly cheesesteak. Who the hell messes up toast? 6 people and more than 15 major errors. Took more than an hour in an empty place. Gave them a second chance and they were nearly as bad.

5 stars for breakfast food, not so much for steaks and burgers. Eaten here a couple of times the breakfast food have been top notch and down right yummy. Have ordered their $18 steak twice both times the only thing nice I can say about it is that it was in fact medium rare like I ordered. Burgers were edible but over priced for what I got. Eat at the east 14th location other location might be better

If I could give -5 stars I would! First, its extremely dirty. The walls, the floors, bathrooms, everything. We waited over an hour for our food. Then our rude waitress comes and tells us she forgot to put our order in. She had came over 2 times prior saying our food was up next. We ended up just leaving with no apology, nothing. She even laughed while telling us she forgot.

I had the Rueben. Tiny portioned. Corned beef was dry, it was all sauerkraut, the bread was old, and the fries had no flavor. The soda had almost no flavor in it. When our server asked how it was, he didnt even wait to get my response. He walked off as soon as I went to say something. If i could rate a 0 i would. I will never be back here again.

If ur looking for a meat and two veg kind of place this is the place West of Birmingham. The food is always great and there is plenty of room. The only cons is the menu doesnt change much, but what they do they do well. Kind of reminds me of a school cafeteria because they have those type of rolls we loved as kids.

Waited over 20 minutes for hot beef and a short stack and there were only a handful of us in there. Once food was dropped, we were never checked on again. Had to go up to counter to pay because a check never came. Food was okay, but nothing spectacular. Definitely stingy on the meat. Wont go back.

We ordered biscuits and gravy... The biscuits were burnt and the gravy was like water with little meat specks. We are unsure if the gravy was watery to soften the biscuits. But the server asked how our food was and we both said horrible, and explained why then she laughed and walked away.

Service has went Totally down. VERY RUDE TRIED TO ORDER NO-ONE ANSWERED THE phone after the 3rd time ANSWERED put on Hold for 10 minutes called back to Order chicken then said it was a Special order and their 2 busy and hung up!! How is fried chicken A special order its on the menu!!

Excellent food. The breakfast called the bases are loaded. THE BEST!!!!!! MUST TRY!! Service was great. Always there to get what we needed. . Never had to wait for our server. BEST FOOD ON THE EAST SIDE! I guarantee you , you wont find better food east side of Des Moines!!!

Were just walked out! Been here an hour no food. No contact with waitress since taking or order. Cant see a cook in kitchen for at least 10 minutes! Others walking out, too. Too bad, usually good food. Wont be back. Oh, and its horribly hot in here. Cooler outside.

Cheap, fast, good! Comfort food. I always get breakfast. Coffee is not the greatest, but definitely not the worst. Hashbrowns are wonderful. Sausage patties are juicy, crispy, & delicious. Definitely preferable to most local chains. Gravy has got to be a mix.

Checked this place out for breakfast, not really knowing what to expect. Found it to be a traditional "diner" but with baseball themed decor. Nothing fancy. But GREAT service, wonderful food, and reasonable prices. Will definitely eat there again.

This was our 3rd time eating here. The first 2 times service and food was very good. But this time poor. We had to ask for silverware, were given 2 menus for 4 people. Had to ask twice for water and the food was not good. Seemed disorganized.

Great local diner! Food is made from scratch and to order! The fried chicken is prepared fresh when you order it. They even tell you on the menu expect to wait a liftle linger because of that. Great prices for the amount of food you get!

We waited for 15 minutes and were never even acknowledged. One waitress made eye contact with me and then made a noticeable effort to not look our way again. Eventually we left. With service like that we wont be going back!

Great food, super friendly staff. I never had to ask for a coffee refill as they had a lady that did nothing but walk around refilling coffee. Ive never been to a diner with this level of service.
