I got the Max Combo (single) with cheese and the standard toppings. I subbed the fries for taters. The burger was just what I was looking for - what I remember Burger King tasting like as a child. That is to say, I saw the fresh patty hit the grill, and it had an authentic grilled taste. The tots were on-point, crispy and not too greasy. My wife got the gyro sans tomatoes and loved it! The pita was perfectly warm and cloud-like, there was a generous amount of tasty tzaziki, and the meat was flavorful and tender. Huge portion, too; well worth the $7.

I wish they were open later cuz i always decide to get it and it just closed.... but these are the best burgers in the area that are reasonably priced and i fortunately remember big lots exists when i go there cuz they share a parking lot. The double with griled onions n sauteed mushrooms with swiss. They put the tomato and other toppings under the patty which puts the focus on the meat.

Good Lord!!!! We just tried Maxs and there not another burger joint on the planet where I would spend my money!!! The burger was juicy, just right in the middle! The onion rings.....so good! I believe if they serve burgers in heaven, "Maxs" would be above the door. Did I mention the fries???? soooo much deliciousness. There should a halo above this place in neon flashing lights!

Maxs is a Waldo classic and will definitely feed your craving for a burger, but the other options on the menu are all legit as well (pork tenderloin, gyro). The owners usually working the counter and/or grill and he can get a little salty but it doesnt effect the food at all so it just adds to the character of the place for me.

Been eating here all my life, when I want a burger I go here, great fries, amazing tots, killer onion rings! This place is the #1 place I tell my friends to go to, it is a bit small but outside has plenty of room, most people use this place as carry out! Love you guys, thanks for all the great years of food and service

I love this little place. I have been going here since I moved into the area 6 years ago. The burgers are perfectly done and delicious. The fries are outstanding. It is a little cramped in there at times but well worth it. It can be a bit pricier then your McDonalds run but well worth it for the quality.

The HAMBURGER is phenomenal. A hamburger that will have you coming back over and over to see if it tastes that good every time. The rest of the food isnt bad. The seating is limited. Small wait for fresh cooked food. I have lived in the area for 15 years and am kicking myself I didnt find it sooner.

Easily my favorite place to get a burger in KC. The food is always consistently delicious and the service is great. My only qualm is selfish in that I wish they were open on Sundays: however, being that it is a small, family owned business I respect and can appreciate why they arent.

Just moved here from North Carolina. This was the best burger I have had since I came to the KS/MO area. One of the best burgers I have ever had. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves burgers. I think Ill try the gyros next time I go.

Maxs has some really great burgers and they now serve very decent gyros. If you work nearby it will become one of your regular stops. Fresh ingredients give it that back yard grill taste. Indoor seating is limited but they have a large patio with several tables.

Wow, this is a great joint. Burger was perfect, fries werent too salty. Meat didnt taste like cardboard it was seasoned perfectly and moist. Highly recommend Maxs. Ill be trying a Gyro next.

Possibly the best burgers in Kansas City. The Gyros are also equally good. Fast service and fresh food. Very small dining area, but there are seats outside. You have to try this place.

Maxs has the Best Mushroom Swiss Burger in the state of Missouri. Been there a bunch and will continue to go for years. The place reminds me of a old school 1970s style Burger place.

Wont even answer the phone.ive been there 15 minutes before closing and being turned away. The burgers are greasy the gyro there is great but not worth the pain in the rear
