Zen is one of my go-to places for a quick meal. I love that you can make your own stir fry bowl for under 6 bucks. They have tons of variety and use quality ingredients. Its fast food, but it doesnt taste like it or make you feel like it after! Thats a winning combination for me and my family! Update: Zen has started advertising as a healthy option for dinner boasting menus from various gyms and health spas selections. With that came a few new sauces, new noodles and a different approach to cooking. Its just not what it used to be. The last few times Ive ordered Ive been pretty disappointed. Hopefully they will work out the kinks and find the balance because I miss having Zen as my go-to quick dinner option. GF Update: Zen has recently devoted a portion of their kitchen to gluten-free cooking. Its awesome. Just mention you need a gluten-free meal due to an allergy and they will make sure to keep your portion safe. They even use disposable containers for GF meals for dine-in in case their dishwasher left behind any trace molecules. They seem to have an actual understanding of gluten free dining.

Usually when you go out to eat, you dont want to get something worse than what you could make at home.... Ordered online, which was nice, but shortly after got a call saying they were out of brown rice. OK, not a huge deal. Arrived to pick it up, after the appropriate time, but our order wasnt ready. Still not a big deal. So... By the time we finally got home w our food, opened it up to find two soggy boxes, that did not contain anything close to what we ordered. I ordered steak, got chicken; subbed my brown rice for rice noodles, got udon noodles; Husband ordered the Muscles from Brussels, no rice, just something that seemed like slices of plasticy parmesan, & just a couple pieces of dry chewy steak. Oh! & threw out the seaweed salad after a bite. It was icky/gone bad. Very sad to not love this place. Really wanted it to be a good go to for an easy dinner. But will not be ever going back. Booboo.

I have been a patron for years. Service is usually friendly and the order at least satisfactory. Today after a surgery, I called for the usual order for my husband to pick up. The lady who answered seemed angry, what makes the Sake Sarada salad is not over done salmon. Mine was a tiny hard piece. My favorite garlic and shallot slices were non existent. There were THREE garlic slices and NO sliced shallots at all. There wasnt enough dressing and the little buddha teriyaki chicken was ONLY chicken and rice...not broccoli, no zucchini, no carrots! An absolute fail. Of course the husband have check the order. All the way in Cedar Park, so theres no taking it back.

This is usually one of my favorite places to eat! So Im hoping tonight was a fluke, but it was so bad I wont be back to find out. I ordered the Singapore Noodles and it had the scraps of veggies in it that are normally what would be thrown out (not pictured because I threw them away before I even tasted the rest of it), almost no beef, and the normally thick and delicious yellow curry sauce was thin and soupy. It tasted like spicy water. My two kids got Buddha Bowls and their sauce (pictured below) was super watery, too. My daughter thought it was broth. We are so very disappointed! Not what I expected from Zen

I normally would rate Zen Anderson 4 Stars. Food is always fresh and consistent. Ive tryed several items from Shashido Steak, the fresh sushi to my favorite, the Sake Sarada Salad. Ive always been allowed to add the roasted seaweed to my item. The unnamed employee last time treated my request as an unrealistic request, told me plainly no, went to the manager after I coerced her to doso. Even at that point she made a big issue of it, and barely put any on it. Her response: "Management is cracking down" Had it been suggested would gladly pay extra. *a very hostile and extremely resistant encounter.

I love this place! The food is sooooo good and they have a huge variety of choices. Their menu has a ton of different vegetables to make your own bowl - and even the option to put stir fried meat and veggies on greens instead of rice. I dont know anywhere else that does that. I have had the take away sushi many times and delish. Not the same as fresh, but totally beats HEB at pretty much the same price. PLUS they have all their nutritional information available!! Take out has always been really easy and friendly if you dine in. One of my quick dinner staples.

My husband and I ordered Salt and Pepper shrimp. I have ordered it a dozen times. This time it came without the Salt and Pepper. I went back yo the counter to ask for the seasoning. That is when the cook told the guy at the front they had run out of the Salt and Pepper seasoning. The guy said they would remake and bring out to us. They never brought us the seasoning or remade anything. We were hungry and short on time so we just threw Sriracha on our food, ate, and left.

Zen is an interesting little Japanese Fast Food place. Their sushi is more like youd expect in a grocery store, as its pre-made and nothing to get excited about. They do make really nice noodle bowels with different types of noodles and meats or fish. I really enjoy their chicken teriyaki, its a nice, satisfying meal. They also have nice side salads and drinks. Definitely worth a try.

Zen really is fast, and it seems fairly healthy. The pre-made sushi isn’t as great as some other places in town, but their build-your-own-bowls are delicious. The bowls always come out quickly, steaming hot, and full to the brim—I end up with leftovers every time. Zen also sells Buddhas Brew Kombucha, which goes really nicely with their food. The staff is always friendly!

I made my own bowl and was very satisfied. Plenty of veggies and plenty of protein especially for the price. The sushi was mediocre, but I wouldnt expect it to be spectacular given the type of restaurant Zen is. Its advantage is how fast its available, with the popular rolls being ready and waiting for you, just dont expect world class.

I ordered a vegan BYOB and it arrived with chicken and pork accidentally in the bowl. When I brought it to their attention they offered to remake the bowl and then upon delivering the new dish it was suggested that I request for my meal to be made in a new wok. The cashier was apologetic but needless to say I will never be returning.

Great food, healthy, and at great prices. What else would you want? I like the atmosphere as well - it feels like a little escape from the hustle and bustle of the Anderson area. The spicy chicken is great, and if you get the budget bowl, its only $6-$7 for a full lunch. The staff is friendly as well. Would definitely recommend!

I waited 30min for takeaway. They changed 40centsfor a little extra sauce and barely gave my dish any teriyaki sauce. The Place is filthy and greedy for profits. Not that great on cooking. Also my cashier was snobby . She never smiled and her soul lacked an iota Of kindness. Udan and sauce cost me.80 cents extra.
