The BBQ was great along with the Macn Cheese, where this place suffers is its service. On two separate occasions, I experienced sub par service. The first time was in April 2015, and I had selected this place to cater my graduation party, as I had recently graduated from GCU with my masters at the time. I prepaid two weeks in advanced and provided specific instructions including that I would be by to pick up my order the day of my ceremony at 2:30 PM. On my return, I supplied the cashier with my receipt and requested my order. Her initial reaction was of confusion and was later followed with clarifying questions regarding my order, such as "did you call to confirm this" suggesting that I may have made a mistake. I advised her that I was given no instructions on calling ahead to confirm an order I already paid for. She left the counter to return after a couple of minutes and asked who I placed the order with. I gave her my story again, and afterwards she went to the back again to return 15 minutes later finally with my "order". I am under the impression it was just thrown together last minute with what was available from the lunch rush. The second time was 3 weeks ago when my girl friend and I were debating on a place for dinner. This place was brought up and I decided to give it a second chance. After waiting in line for 20 minutes, we just left. We didnt even get a chance to put out order in. The place was not busy, in fact there were just two other couples, one in front of us and one behind us. However, there were several "guests" that came through whose attentions were apparently more important than ours and the other patrons. The staff appeared to be young, unprofessional, and inattentive with placing a higher importance on conversing with one another and their "guests", whom I can only tell were just loitering. Please train your employees on the values of customer service as both my experiences suggest they are in need of it. Great food though, wished I could have had it at least a second time.

Lets take an inside look at this restaurant, which is trying to display that mom n pop family atmosphere. The food to die for, customer service above average. Company treating employees with respect and sticking up for the ones who are your image and who make up a good percentage of the family negative impact. I just got let go for one customer complaint due to a customer stating i wiped the counter with a "sweat towel" kid you not, this is a real complaint. The owners said they watched the cameras and they felt that since i worked in food for so many years as a manager that it was completely unforgivable. Than following up with my immediate supervisors comment to me asking if it was real and saying I feel it could have been felt with differently because I know I didnt do such a thing. She stated Maybe you did it without realizing what you were doing. I am not sure. All I know is the lady called the Deer Valley location because our number is not online. That is how it even got to the owners. And they said fire her. Thank you for that single complaint, I was unemployed 2 years and was blessed to get a job. I just was trying to find a stable home since being homeless is so difficult to get around positively. But one person made me loose faith. I only want to be seen as a person not trash.

I came here hungry and with the intention to check the place out for my youth sports club. Were trying to find our food hangout in the area or even a sponsor; build a relationship in the community. I researched several restaurants in the area and tried a few. This one seemed to be a good candidate - kid friendly, tv, space, etc. However, only 5 minutes in line and I was sadly disappointed. The ordering process is not intuitive so I was already a bit confused when suddenly pulled ahead of the person in front of me and not really ready. I was asked for my order and we each misunderstood what the other said. No big deal, that happens. However, this kid gruffed and grimaced like I just ruined his day. Well he just ruined mine. May not seem fair to give a bad review for one knucklehead when I havent tried the food and was only there for 5 minutes, but this was my honest experience. The food and the place looks nice, but from my point of view, I went there hungry with a desire to like the place, but was treated like I was the problem by frontline staff. Its their process that was inhibitive and their job to sell me on it. Failed. Why would I want to bring friends and family if thats the first impression?

All I can say is People/Staff/Owners/ here are BAD >>>>BAD>>>>BAD. If you have any issue they hold their ears to any complaint you have and belittle you so bad you think that you just insulted Trumps Mom. What ever the quality of the food, the bad Karma from the people who work here will poison your experience. It is best to always check your orders here..they under-fill every container, they forget your items and fail to do anything about it if you voice complaints. The simple fact is this place is going down..... down..... down.... hill fast. There are a lot of choices in this food space. If I were you I would support a better class of service providers and save yourself a LOT of problems. No customer that pays the over the top prices here should also have to put up with the obnoxious service backed up by just rude and disrespectful people...I know all in our family and all of our friends will NEVER go back!

We have eaten at POAF just about since it opened. The service is outstanding. The prices are great. The food, the food is AWESOME! Being from KC we know a thing or two about smoked meat. POAFs meat is outstanding. This place would be a hit in KC. We also love the Prime Rib nights, we have been away for a while and hope they still have them. The Mac & Cheese is wonderful and the corn muffins are a treat, like a little cornbread dessert. No matter what we order we always add a couple bones. Its very nice that you can do that. I love that you can get the sauce on the side because the meat actually doesnt need any sauce. Its outstanding just as it comes out of the smoker. Now that were back we hope to see you much more often, in fact I think Ill head there now for a pulled pork sandwich.

While I like their food, the customer service in their catering department left a lot to be desired. To be fair, I called after 4:00pm to request food for 22 people to be delivered the next morning by 11:30am...very short notice, I realize. My issue is that intsteaf of simply telling me that was too short notice, the man who answered the phone said "Uuuuuuhhhhh, uuuuuhhhh, uhhhhhhh, hmmmmmmm, uuuuhhhh, can I call you back in about 10 minutes. I have to check that the closest store can fill that number." Okay...no problem with that. It has been over 30 minutes since, and still no call back. I tried calling them back 4 times, but the call was disconnected immediately after 2 rings when I hit option 3 for catering. Sheesh! If you cant do it, just say so! I opted to go somewhere else.
