The only reason why I gave it 2 stars because of the service I got. I have been going there for years and Im from hawaii and I like their portion of food and it taste pretty good. Now heres the bummer experience I had, I usually order the same thing, Ive been noticing they keep running out of roast pork, maybe its not a big seller but I love it! And so does my friends, but thats not the real issue. Over the years they had some really awesome cashiers behind the counter, but now ive notice their having their family behind them, which is fine I have no problem, but once they start charging me and extra money for substitute, I wanted chicken instead of beef they charged for that, like really? cmon the beef is more expensive than the chicken??!! Oh and also ive notice their credit card machine has an automatic tip? if you pay by card. Like I didnt see no option to skip that?? It may not be a big thing for some people but for me it is, a little ridiculous if you ask me, especially the tip, what if I wanted take out?? I need to find another hawaiian resturarnt to eat! Sorry LnL but you lost a customer that has been going there for years!

I love coming here to get the laulau plate (cause its the only place I know that sells it) So the laulau plate is probably the most expensive on the menu, which I dont mind spending my money on. This last time we went, we ordered 3 plates. Our total on receipt was $52 but when our card was swiped & we checked bank account they charged $67. So I guess they decided to give themselves a $15 tip. It blew my mind cause we were already spending a lot on just 3 plates. Then what threw me for a loop was my husband confronted them & they said I gave them the tip. Like really all I did was swipe my card, he hit a few buttons then told me to put in my pin. Like, own up to what you did!! I highly recommend that if anyone is going here to eat here, USE CASH ONLY! Do not use their credit/debit machine. The only reason I would go back is because Leos Hawaiian barbq doesnt sell laulau plates. We loved coming here till they decided to pull this. Do not take someone elses hard earned money.

This is my second time here, the first being last year when my coworkers bought me lunch for my birthday (had the lau lau), and the 2nd was like the 1st, meh. I wanted to take my wife to see what she thought though. We ordered the kula pork cabbage bowl and the seafood combo platter, with short ribs. Essentially, we paid $17.00 for rice...way too much rice compared to the meat (especially for that cabbage bowl, barely any pork). I personally thought the mahi mahi fish tasted like dirt. The macaroni and short ribs were good. We couldnt help but notice the sign touting that L&L Hawaiian Barbecue won the Best of the Best Award in 2008 and 2009....um, if theres that large of a break for an award, you have to start thinking, "What happened?" The place seemed continually busy though while we were there during lunch time. I would not recommend this place to anyone. However, if you love plain white rice, its a great place to go.

First impression was an Asian kid judging me for what I purchased. Telling me it was unhealthy to order the BBQ assortment, if I wanna eat that then order it for me, and dont comment. Ordering was a real pain since the kid had something to say for everything we ordered. It was terrible. They serve in the most tackiest way possible: in styrofoam boxes. (Even if youre eating in) the rice tastes like it was made a few days before, and might as well be a snowball as it was clumped together. The styrofoam plate was definitely microwaved, even the lettuce. Everything is premade days ahead. It was honestly a very bad experience, and for the prices they have posted, please Id rather take my money to McDonalds or burger king any day. Please dont waste your money here, because thats what it becomes, a waste.

The food is awesome of course. The customer service is NOT. Absolutely no aloha, which is a shame with being from Hawaii. My family and I were forced upon to tip. They were aggressive about it. As we watched them deal with customers, thats what they do. They dont ask if youd like to give tip, they demand it. After I had said no the first time, the cashier asked again and again, with my answer being no still. Also they shout orders aloud if they are ready, which I understand. I just thought it was rude cause it was done while my order was being taken so I kept having to repeat myself. The other lady who wasnt helping a customer could have called out the ready orders. Never will my family, friends, and family friends return. Mahalo...

THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!! The food its old. I took 1 bite and I almost throw up. The manager saw me. I didnt even ask for the money back. I threw the food straight in the garbage and I left and eat at Jersey Mike. After I eat I called and I spoke with manager He said to go back to give me my money back I told him its not about money. ITS ABOUT SERVICE!! Anyway. BOTTOM LINE... DISGUSTING PLACE. DIRTY PLACE, NASTY FOOD, and on top of that I was wondering WHY I was their only CLIENT! There were like 9-10 people sleeping on tables (their workers I guess or family) I will never go back in this place. I will not recommend to anyone. I WISH I COULD HAVE TAKEN A PICTURE!

This place should be shut down. The food is alright. The problem is the service, no air conditioner, and they almost demand a tip on the card machines - my second time going in to get food to go and right on the screen where you pay the employee pointed 3 times tip - I said frankly no tip mam - she then snatched my card out of the machine. A tip is something earned after you sit down and eat and have been waited on. This is very aggressive service and I dont think they have good attitudes at all. I also asked for a cup to put some sauce in she yelled fifty cents - WOWWWWW!!!!!!!

If you are looking for a $7 bowl of rice, this is your place! If you are adventurous, try the rubber chicken bowl with "Veggies". I didnt know a piece of smushed broccoli constitutes veggies but Im not from Hawaii. I do believe I saw a piece of cabbage, which was great to see a see through veggie. I cant believe they get away with this. I very nearly drove back to the store and smeared it on the window and wrote "Mahalo" out of the thick Teriyaki. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT an inflammation of the intestine causing diarrhea. Pure Tu Kai!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The food was good! Unfortunately the lady at the counter was a witch! She was rude and acted more than offended when i didnt put a tip on my receipt. Why would I tip you? You are not a waitress. You stood behind the counter and rang up our order. not one please or thank you came out if your mouth to ANY of the customers that came in. The tables were all dirty. The garbage was over flowing....and you want a tip? Heres one....tell the owners you can increase their business....by firing you!
