Mixed reviews for me in this place after a handful of visits. Would like to share my experience with you all. 1) the one dish that consistently liked by me and my wife is their idly, they are soft, they are fresh, hot. The chutney and sambhar is also very good and the overall combination is very tasty. Their idly plate consists of 3 idlis and costs ~3$ compared to Sarvanna bhavans 6$ for 2 idly. Me and my wife often visit them in the evening for the idly plate. 5 stars for it. 2) their lunch buffet is total bang for the buck. Try it out once if you havent. 4 stars for it considering the cost, 3 stars for the taste. 3) their chicken 65, fried chicken is tasty too. 4) their kothu parata is not as tasty as Kumars , I feel the reason is because of the raitha and the curry, MTKs raitha always smells of rotten onions and takes away the whole taste . 4 stars for kothu parata, but 2 stars for their raitha and curry. 5) today I took their special Bhai kadai biryani, it was 9.5$, very costly considering that the quality of rice is not basmati or jeera and I didnt get any mutton on it. On the contrary bawarchis biryani costs you 12$ , they give 1.5x times than MTK and ample number of mutton pieces. I felt it was very costly and not worth the money I paid. 2 stars for it. 6) their mango lassi was very good.

Had been there only once. Six hungry stomachs went there around 7 PM on a national holiday, after hearing a friend raving good about the food, price and the road-stall style set-up. The stall welcomed us with peppy Tamil music and a concoction of seating. The process is to stand in the queue, order the food you want, pay, wait for your order number to be called, pick the food and go to the available seating, if any. We had to walk 7 times for 7 different items. Why? The items needed careful transportation as they were in foam plates/bowls. Well, that is what is expected in a roadside stall. However, considering that our seating was not in the line of sight of where food was delivered, the experience was very discomforting. We had to go for a second round, because the quantity was just right for the price. But wait, by then the place became very crowded with a long queue till the entrance door. Adding to that, people were waiting with eagle eyes to snatch away any available seating. It was already 9 PM. Now guess what we did. We just headed home and had some leftovers to douche the remaining hunger. LESSON: Dont go there with hungry stomachs, that too on a holiday.

Bad experience at Plano, TX Franchise; We were group of 3 boys and 3 girls, got lured with the Franchise name and specific reviews through friends that the food at this restaurant is not expensive. Went in, ordered and here are the feedbacks on the food we ordered. Poricha Kozhi - Dont buy, it was hard and not able to bite even. Kari Dosa Mutton / Chicken - Dont buy, it is unrealistic version of the original kari dosa from Madurai, India. Not gravy to go with Dosa, they just made dosa separately and added Mutton/Chicken separately on the dosa. Fish curry Idli - We returned this dish, need not say more. Briyani - Very very less quantity. In short - Dont go to Plano Franchise. Waste of Money and never felt like we ate. They are not actual cooks.

I tried their regular biryani and it was so spicy bit their special briyani is not spicy at all but good too. I really like their kottu porotta but I had much better kottu porotta when I was in NY. Their idli chicken is good too but really spicy. Their masala Dosa is really great. Their dosa chicken is okay too. Their coffee is speical one too. All the other are pretty ordinary. What I really like about this place is their price. Their service is really great. This place is so crowded but never seen a place where people enjoy their food and ambiance. This is the seventh time I came here. Update: this place use to be good but now its on the way down. Wow.

Did not have a good experience with take away last time that opted for dine in today Firstly, the person who helped with the order took forever... Then we found a table and it was not clean; we asked a lady at the counter to have someone clean it but that did not happen until we left the place Now coming to the food - the chutney(s) appeared to be stale. The parotta were only half cooked, threw most of it away. You are charging the customer less doesnt mean you provide half cooked food :( Overall the experience was very very bad and wouldnt go back to this place for sure

I wish the menu came with a description. That aside, everything else is amazing. My cashier knew the whole menu. It was ready shortly after I received my drink. The food tasted authentically Indian. I was overwhelmed by spices in the best way possible. I couldnt handle the heat, so I got to take my food home for lunch the next day. The egg kalakki is my new favorite thing! I had the spicy mutton special as well. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Glad I came in while working nearby. Thanks!!

They gave a little cup of mutton biryani with 3 mutton oeices and it is leaking oil all over the place. Their veggie biryani is worth the price but very oily and rice is not suited for biryni. Their food is probably good if you really like hanging out in tmil style while having alochol. But if you are family dinner avoid this place. Not good for kids and family. Only good for a drink day out with Tamil friends. Again such low quantity for 12$ with no mutton oeices. Too bad.

The food in this place used to be good but the employees were unfriendly, especially the woman in the counter. Then the food quality and service started going down. They shutdown for a while. They reopened and seem to have a different team running this place. Now the service is great (but they still have the same woman in the counter who needs some training in customer relations). The food quality has improved a bit. I think they are trying to get better.

This is absolutely bullshit. Avoid it like plague.. Food is super bland And its impossible to make the food this bland even if you try to do it intensionally... Ordered chicken "special" Biryani 2 types of chicken curries Masala dosa Masala vada Samosa All of them bland and impossible to finish any of them unless you dont have a tounge Disgrace for Tamil Nadu... Please close down the business. You spoiled my Friday night supper

Would have taken out the 1 star if I have option.. I am guy who never post review.. It was once my favorite place.. They lost the quality and character.. They dont provide quality worth product for the money they charge.. Today I ordered a mango fresh juice for 5$.. I hoped I would get a quality mango fresh juice.. What we got is a full ice cube and yellow mango flavoured water... avoiding ordering juice from that place...

It is Tamilian restaurant. Open only in the evening at 5pm but open until 12 in the night. Not usually crowded at any given time. Very few options in the menu but whatever theyve, they serve them good. They customize the orders easily for the customers. Friendly guys working there. Jigarthanda, kuutu paratha, and dosa are good. Good place for snack/brunch/light meal. Reasonable prices.
