Dont let the writing on the walls fool you while everyone may say Naked BBQ is great its really not, aside from the crunchy noodles on the mac and cheese to the flavorless beans that need almost unhealthy amount of salt and sauce added to them to the barely cooked tri-tip sandwiches that seem like I was eating a smoke sandwich with virtually no taste to them. Ive tried to make myself like this because its the closest barbecue place thats not just microwaved like that place called Waldos down the street but no matter how hard I try I cant bring myself to actually liking this place. $8 for a barbecue sandwich might be a steal but at that price point youre better off going down the street to Applebees and getting something that at least taste like meat instead of smoke hell Daves barbeque at Arrowhead is even worth the drive and that taste better than this. maybe when the restaurant first started it was great because they had quality meat that wasnt over smoked but now it seems like this restaurant reached a point where they got comfortable and no longer care so Im sad to say that I will never be attending this restaurant again thanks but the food is tasteless sorry great service though

I pulled in late for lunch, about 1:30, and was a little concerned because it seemed pretty quiet. I went in, was warmly welcomed, and placed my order. I tried the sliced brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw, and beans. The platter also had a little corn muffin. The brisket was spot on. - moist, smokey, flavorful. The pulled pork had great flavor and texture. I doctored up the pork with a sample of the spicy and sweet sauces. Both nicely complemented the pork although I preferred the spicy sauce. The slaw was creamy mayo based savory, not sweet. Probably my only misgiving about the meal were the beans. The beans were a bit flat. Need some salt an/or vinegar. I dumped some of the spicy BBQ sauce on them and they were perfect. I thought about knocking the rating down to 4 stars because of the beans but that seems pretty weak-assed to know down a bbq place because of the sides. So 5 stars it is. I was disappointed that they were out of cobbler. I believe cobbler is the perfect finish to bbq meals so I will be back to get the full experience.

Weve tried a LOT of BBQ all across the country and I think Naked BBQ might be up for taking the crown from our previous favorite in downtown Wichita. Cleverly named so as to inform that their meats are not covered up by a slathering of sauce from which the flavor is obtained, Nakeds meats themselves are the star of the show. And they do shine indeed! This may be the most flavorful array of proteins Ive ever had. The pulled pork and brisket are a must. And the beef rib is certainly something to behold! Even the sides (we had potato salad, mac and cheese, garlic broccoli, beans, and cornbread) were mild and pure in their taste. Not to outdo the food, the service and attentiveness of the staff stood out as well. These are people who are very obviously proud of what they serve and really REALLY want you to have an enjoyable and memorable meal. I cant recommend this place highly enough!!!

As a native of Kansas City, Im pretty familiar with good barbeque. Gates, Bryants, Jack Stack, Joes, Sneads, Q39, etc. I was recently in Phoenix for work/vacation, and I stopped by Naked BBQ for lunch and I have to say, they would fit right in amongst KCs best. I had the sliced brisket, pulled right out of the smoker and cut in front of me, it was very tender and juicy. The sides of mac & cheese and creamy coleslaw were exactly what you would expect and were very good. I had the spicy sauce which seems like what you would expect in southern bbq, and it was flavorful without being too overpowering. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the Phoenix area.

Stopped in again tonight to pickup a bounce meat platter. Ive been in a few times since my last review and just now decided to update my review. DAMN I LOVE THIS PLACE! There review updated. Really though every time I go in service is great and the food is consistent. Ive have tried other places and none have matched up to the food or service here. Dont just take my word for it look at the other reviews. They are so good they had to get a sign saying when the meat is gone cause they sell out yes they will run out of meats cause they dont mass produce large quantities and though it in the fridge or freezer. This is probably why the meats always taste great and always consistent.

Over the last few years I thought something was going wrong with me. I thought my taste buds might be degraded to a point where they no longer function. Everything that I was eating just seemed bland, and maybe a little revolting. After visiting Naked BBQ I realize that the problem isnt with me, it is with every other restaurant! Flavor still exists, and its home is Naked BBQ! The owner has always been really polite with me, and I appreciate that. There is a younger kid who works the counter there who is absolutely on point with his customer service skills. I dont come here often (dont want to ruin it by over consuming), but when I do it is always a revelation.

Was craving bbq and decided to give them a try. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, the owner came around and greeted the customers, the place was clean and comfortable. And the food...Naked BBQ is above and beyond anything Ive ever had. The brisket without sauce was amazing and with the spicy sauce it was the best Ive ever tasted. The mac and cheese was perfect and the beans were outstanding! I will be going back and will be telling anyone who will listen about this place. A must try for residents and visitors alike.

Been coming to this location shortly after it was opened. Orin & his staff always put forth an extra effort towards customer service. If in doubt about a menu item, Orin always offers up a "sample", with a smile. A great owner & manager. Now that he has opened his second location on Shea at 90th St, we visit this BBQ entrepreneur even more, as that location is 1 1/2 miles from our SDL home! Great flavored BBQ, always moist & tender! "NAKED BBQ... We Dont Cover Our Meat"! Give them a try at either location. :) Ken & Debi J. Fast Glass Corvette Club

First time here with my lovely wife for lunch. Was greeted by the staff with a smile and we both ordered the chopped brisket sandwiches with macaroni and cheese. OMG the sandwiches were fantastic! Finished our meal and was asked by the owner how everything was. Super nice and found out he has a second location over on Shea and the 101 that I will visit as well. Thanks and definitely will come back!

This is some of the best BBQ in Phoenix . I would rate this store in the top 5 in the valley it is a little more expensive but not really much more than other places that claim great BBQ. Some of my favorites here are the brisket and the pulled pork. They do have a number of sides but they were similar to sides you to get at other restaurants not bad not awesome either.
