Not at all impressed. Upon arriving, the greeter/host asked us to wait while he rang up customers that had finished eating, including the ones that arrived at the register well after my family got there. Then he asked us to wait again so he could help the busboy clean off a table, even though the majority of the tables were unoccupied. But no, they had to seat us at THAT exact table, still wet from just being wiped down with a sketchy looking dishtowel. Had to repeat our drink order (for a family of 4) four times before the guy was able to repeat it back correctly. One of the employees was walking around the dining area drinking a soda. Good variety of food, but very little of it was any good. The jalapeno poppers, for example, were flavorless. All of the typical "bits of chicken in sauce" dishes contained very little actual chicken, mostly bits of breading. The only exception to this was the teriyaki chicken, which tasted like was made with leftover roast chicken. The desserts looked like they were placed on the buffet with a catapult. Some of the food looked like it had been out since yesterday, and the majority of the food was mislabeled or not labeled at all. Im only giving two stars because the staff, while hapless, was friendly. And the eggrolls were ok.

I have moved to two major cities since living in Onalaska and I still miss the China Inn dearly. It is by far the best value in a chinese buffet I have ever encountered. I have found very few chinese restaurants that serve the quality of food that China Inn does, and those that do are significantly more expensive. Unlike other buffets where the dishes look different but strangely taste the same, China Inn offers true variety and interesting dishes Ive not seen elsewhere. After yet another overpriced, truly bad chinese buffet lunch in a suburb of Minneapolis today, I just had to leave some kind words here for the China Inn. Also, as another reviewer noted, Google has the location wrong. It is across from the mall on highway 16 near Wendys.

Disgusting. Made me sick. Also the waitress tried having us put my 3 MO old son in the car seat in a chair, which is very unsafe. I asked for sweet tea with lemon and my mom asked for unsweet tea no lemon with sweet n low. They brought me raspberry tea with lemon, assuming thats what I wanted, and waited to tell me they did not have sweet tea til after she brought me the raspberry tea and they never brought my mom sweet n low, sugar, anything. Just the unsweet tea. And the food was like it was left over from the night before . Do es not even deserve one star.

I have tried almost every single Chinese resturant in La Crosse and Onalaska and this one beats everyone. I go there so much that the cashier knows me by my name and is always happy to see me. He calls me up front when there is a line he just hands me the take out box and lets me go get what I want and I give him my debit card. He tells me I can over fill if I want. Best place and the food is never cold. I recommend this place to everyone.

If you havent been to their new place it deserves a trip. Its much bigger, but with the same relaxed atmosphere that they had at the old one. My wife and I have been fans since before they moved, and they know us by our unique takeout order when we call. Also their packaging for the messy foods earns my vote for their takeout. Google Maps has it in the wrong place. Its in the same shopping center as Wendys & Mr. Goodwrench

This is the only Chinese restaurant I eat at in a 100 mile radius by far the cleanest restaurant out of any restaurant in the area Ive been in the kitchens of 98% of restaurants in town this ones by far the cleanest everytime we eat here the food is fresh and so so yummy I love the Honey chicken, the staff is great the owner has a great family very polite

We love to eat here. The food is some of the best Chinese that we have found in La Crosse and we like the buffet. They have a good assortment of entrees and fast service. Prices are good. They have hand dipped ice cream, too. The bathrooms could be cleaner but that is something Ive noticed at most of the Chinese restaurants that we have eaten at.

We had never had a problem here, but we stopped for my daughters birthday. My son was not hungry, so didnt eat. The staff watched us the entire meal. One of the servers sat and made eye contact with me for more than 10 minutes straight. It felt like she thought I owed her money. Very rude. We will not be returning... Ever.

I ate here during the lunch buffet on Monday, April 1st. Overall decent to good food. Nothing that really pops out but it gets the job done. Good selection between Chinese, American and even Italian food. Would eat here again if Im in the area. Nothing surpasses Oriental Kitchen in Black River Falls, though.

so the food is ok. solidly subpar, but the service is superb. waiters silently appear and disappear with no small talk, allowing you to contemplate your warm chicken in peace. large seating area with comfortable speaking between tables. beer on the menu. unlimited food at low prices. cant go wrong here.

I prefer this buffet over any others in this area. Theyre staff is friendly and really good at keeping empty plates off the table. The taste of the food is good, the price is good, and the selection is pretty good. Im waiting for the day they add stuffed mushrooms to the buffet.

I absolutely love their food better than any of the other Chinese food places in the La Crosse/Onalaska area. Their buffet has lots of choices and their take out offers good portions. This is the only place I go to for Chinese and Ive tried almost all the other places in the area!

Good service for a buffet. But the food, particularly the honey chicken, is like wow. Other people here have said the same, and we agree. They seem to replenish their offerings very quickly. And a big plus, the buffet tables were very clean.

Went for lunch at about 1230pm yesterday, I have been extremely sick since 7pm last night...cant even keep water down..food was blah and hated how the staff screamed across the room when new customers walked in. Never again.

Website gives the impression this is a sit down restaurant, waitress was confused when we asked for a menu. General Tsos was terrible and had very low quality meat. Highly disappointed, wish we would have gone elsewhere.
