For the price its exactly what one would expect, nothing more, nothing less and that is okay because if you wanted classy chinese or sushi youd go to hunans or shogun. A great deal of the reviews on google are upset that the servers are bilingual and communicate with other staff in mandarin... are kidding me? What do you expect, british english?! And for those morons expecting sushi at a chinese buffet you can take your butts to super buffet and enjoy their multitudes of health code violations and above federal law food holding temperatures. It is honestly shocking that China Buffet has that many poor reviews because I have been eating their since 2009 and I have never been ill. Its a family run business that caters to price point, not fine dining, and their clientele is mostly college students on a budget and high schoolers so it is a really good market and location for them as well as their patrons. It is wrong to compare the food to hunans or golden eggroll because they are not buffets. When one looks at other buffet options in the la crosse area you have china inn, super buffet, and china buffet and China Buffet has the higher quality, hands down.

My bro and I went there for some bromance on our way home from a moto race in minnesota. We saw other reviews and figured it was worth checking out. The food was average for a chinese buffet. They were quick to replace something if it ran out and very nice to the customers. The owner and his lady got into a fairly loud argument in chinese so that was a little strange...but didnt change the taste of the food. The food didnt agree with us too well so it made for an unenjoyable ride soon there after. We both still agree wed go back if we were craving some chinese food in the area.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Ate here 2 days ago, and still suffering from mild food poisoning. Smell was horrible upon walking in, but we went against our better judgement because we were hungry and in a hurry. Buffet table heat source was non-existent. Food was cold, and old. Tried calling health dept and were given third degree, so gave up. DONT EAT HERE under any circumstances.

We went there hoping since it had just opened for the day, the food would be hot. Wrong. Everything we bit into was cold. We couldnt even let our child eat. I asked for the bill and mentioned the food was all cold..we got $4 off our bill. Still paid $20 for cold food we couldnt eat. Ridiculous! Hope we dont get sick...

I am shocked that this restaurant is getting any bad reviews; my husband and I have gone to China Buffet since 2003 and servers have always been wonderful, food has been hot and good. This is a tremendous deal for $$. Just hate to see people complain about a great family owned business.

Sick as hell. Went there to try it cause they remodeled so we thought they sould be better. I ate the chicken & crab rangoon, everything was cold so me & my friend left without paying & im currently sick throwing up. Would never go there again!

Food was as expected in a Chinese buffet. My main issue was the children of employees with iPads on full volume watching cartoons at the main table. Headphones or maybe relocating your children during business hours would be a good idea.

The food was good but the buffet was low on some of the meats, leading me to believe it may have been there awhile. The people were nice. Couldnt tell if there was any crab in the crab rangoon. Good lunch special price.

i liked it..but it is pretty average for a Chinese buffet. there is nothing special about this place. they dont have ice cream or sushi on the buffet..which I usually like to aim for when choosing a Chinese buffet.

Horribly priced for the quality of dumpster leavings they serve. I wouldnt eat there again if it were free, chicken and brocoli is all brocoli and fried chicken fat and the "crab rangoon" is simply cream cheese!

Food was cold n old. Waitresses were talking loud and very disturbing talking chinese not english. It was not a peacefully dinner. We were both sick for two days. Will not go there again.
