Rama is easily the Thai restaurant I visit most in Baton Rouge. The place itself is pretty unassuming--there are no windows and tables are pretty close together. I wouldnt come here if you are claustrophobic! There is a huge variety in dishes, one can mix and match panang shrimp or red curry chicken or any combination in between. The items are very reasonably priced, and the portions are easily large enough to share. There are a solid number of vegetarian and pescatarian options available, and the drinks are also decently priced. Ill typically visit one every couple months and am satisfied every time.

I love going to Rama. The food is excellent, and very reasonably priced. The mixed drinks are great and affordable. And did I mention the food is excellent?? I especially love the lemon grass soup (for appetizer or entree,) the spring rolls, any of the curries, and the garlic chicken with noodles. Everything I have had is good, though. I know people complain about limited seating and service taking a while, but its worth it. It gives you a chance to talk. Just dont go there if you are in a hurry or are with people you dont want to hang out with for a while.

Im an international student in LSU. Maybe last week, I visited in here with my wife and we ordered two dishes and two ice tea. At that time, I feel comfortable and didnt have a complain. BUT, when I wanted to drink more, a server recommended two beverage and then we ordered them again. Finally, I paid a price of 4 ice tea, not just 2. In this point, the server never explain about the price. Also, she pretended to be busy after we done. Anyway, if you want to eat a food of this restaruant, I ABSOLUTELY recommend that you MUST TAKE-OUT, not inside.

I am not usually the type to leave a negative review, but; I called ahead for take-out, was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I showed up at Rama right at the 20 minutes mark. I was asked to sit down and given a glass of water. One hour later my 3 entree order was ready. I watched two groups come and go, and was pretty much ignored while I waited. There were 3 other tables with diners. The 3 stars are for the food, it was pretty good, and good portion size, but I probably wont visit again due to the wait.

Dont let the unassuming exterior of this restaurant near the Perkins overpass fool you. Inside is an intimate and humble dining experience, and the food is truly excellent. There are only a handfull of tables available, but take out is available as well. The food is wonderful and is easily as good as any Thai restaurant weve been to in the U.S. Dont be in a big hurry though, staff are limited. But then again, its probably best to savor an experience like this.

Whether theres a chill in the air or its a hot summer day, I always go for the lemon grass soup at Rama. Its the best around. Lots of mushrooms and big on flavor. I crave it! For my entree, it was the first time I had their silver noodles, which comes with pork. It was a generous portion and the noodles were cooked to perfection. But it needed a good bit of soy sauce and hot sauce to bring out the flavor. Not bad but there are so many better dishes to choose from.

The food is excellent. The place looks really sketchy as you approach, and the complete lack of windows is off-putting. The wait staff is friendly although they can get distracted by chatting to other guests, so your wait time may be longer than is strictly necessary. Your food might not all make it to your table at the exact same time either but...relax. The food is well worth it. That was the best Pad Thai I have ever eaten.

This place has been here for as long as I can remember. Its a little hole in the wall place that is a gem if youre looking for good Thai food and good service. The servers and cooks have probably been there since the place opened but hey, dont fix whats not broken. Pad thai and the chicken or beef larb is good. I usually prefer the chicken though.

A great little place run by two old couples. Good, authentic Thai food. The Shrimp Chips with Peanut Sauce is really great (Really the chips are just a Peanut Sauce delivery system), the coconut chicken soup is really great, and the Pad Thai is the best I have had. I really dig this place.

My all time favorite Thai restaurant. This place was very quick service on a week night ( less than 20 from ordering to getting food), the food was incredible, and the staff was sweet and efficient. Have gone back once and will make a point to go here every time I go back to Baton Rouge.

Most delicious food. Get the eggrolls, you wont be disappointed. They come with a wonderful dipping sauce. The cashew shrimp is also a favorite. And the Rama Duck... And the Pad Thai. Ive been coming here for 6 years and Ive had nothing but great food.

Absolutely the best Thai food in Baton Rouge. Dont take your first date here if youre looking for ambiance, but do if they like Thai food. Ive moved to Houston and tried a lot of places and I still miss Rama. The people who work there are lovely.

Great food overall, very authentic, cozy. Ask if youre not sure about menu items though! I enjoyed everything I got, but one thing wouldve been better as an appetizer, rather than the meal. Very good experience, and looking forward to going back!

On an average week night, the wait is minimal, if not non-existent. On a weekend, you may expect a long wait, but I find the food well worth it. Theyve got a significant vegetarian selection that Im sure is easily made vegan.

Honestly, I like the food, but Ive given up on trying to eat it. The service is pretty spotty, and the wait can be pretty long to eat-in. Weve tried take-out, but half the time they wont take our order because theyre too busy.

Amazing Thai food, certainty the best Ive had in this part of the country. I got my standard order.... chicken Penang, beef larb, and tom yum seafood.... all of it was on the high side of what you can get in America.

Get the soups; you wont regret it. My favorite is the Chicken Firepot. As the restaurant description states, it is definitely a low key, no frills building. The Thai, however, is very good.

Rama is a small cute Thai place with excellent service. I had the egg drop soup and sweet and sour chicken and were fairly good. Definitely recommend it for dinner

One of our favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge. Fantastic food. Quaint location in what is becoming a trendy area. Staff is friendly. Service is exceptional.
