After working 13 hours, and having to be back at work @ 5:30 in the morning, Three of us went into Ichibon for dinner. We walked in the door at 7:50. I asked the hostess if it would be a long wait to sit at the hibachi table, as there was one table open and 3 cooks working on the other tables. She said there was no wait, otherwise, we would have gone to the dinning room. At 8:10, we finally received our drink order. I told the waiter we were ready to order. At 8:20, he came back and took our order and that was about the time the cooks were leaving the other tables. At 8:35 our soup and salad arrived and ask the waiter again about getting a cook. All he said was coming, coming. At this point, there were 3 open tables. At 8:50, I told the waiter I wanted to see the manager and to get me a ticket. At 9:00, we finally got up and started to the door. The waiter came to us and the food was coming and one of the cooks came out wheeling a cart with the food on it. At this point, we were all pissed and still hungry. I told the waiter again to get me a ticket and I wanted to see the manager. At 9:15, the manager still had not came to see me and the waiter finally brought me a ticket. We paid for the drinks ( 1 each) and left. I have been to Restaurants all over the country and this is by far the worst service I have ever received. I do not recommend Ichibon Japanese steak house.

I was HIGHLY disappointed in the server Mei-D who was working July 21st 8:30 pm. As you can see on the reciept. She was caring for the extra members of our party of 13. Despite the fact of dividing our party among 2 servers, at 2 tables, with 2 cooks, and 2 bus boys, this woman FAILED to do her job. My husband and daughter ordered a collectable cup for me with mixed drink, she brought a cup that was NOTHING close to what they asked for. When I asked her wheres the cup they orderd? She said "oh were out of that one" ...as my husband and daughter look at the cup hanging above the bar.... I walk to the bar and ask why the cup is out of stock as my waitress stands there holding it with the bar tender. After that, we could not get this woman to do her job AT ALL. The bus boy, spent more time doing her job then clearing dishes (which was what his job detail was) ...He brought our drink refills, he checked on us, my 17 year old went to the bar and asked where the miller light was that we ordered? (From the waitress) the bartender just hands my MINOR a beer....LETS JUST ALL HOPE SHE WAS TELLING THE TRUTH!!! Thank God I raised a decent kid, but this waitress, and probably the bartender too need to be FIRED!!!!

Ichibon has always been my favorite Japanese Restaurant since moving to Clear Lake in 2006. My wife and I visit the Nasa location quite often and would dine at the Kemah location when we bring the kids to the Boardwalk. Sushi is always fresh and this past Wednesday they have $1 sushi night where each piece of sushi was $1. My wife and I threw down 45 pieces of sushi and drank 3 hot sakes! We spent a total of 68 dollars. The price for any another Japanese restaurant in this area or even Houston would be have easily been over $120. Sushi was fresh, kids loved their fried shrimp and we left feeling as we always have at Ichibon. . .super full and satisfied!

Ichibon Kemah was a favorite for many years. But its just not that good anymore. Its been consistently lame for several years now. The sushi... all of it isnt that flavorful, falls apart, and hasnt been served very cold. I think the display sushi bar cooler isnt as cold as it should be. The fish (tuna/maguro) had juices visibly running off its tray. They pre slice all of the fish for nigiri and premake a lot of the rolls. Its become like fast food sushi. Id like to see them get it together.

The sushi was great. I liked that they had an interesting roll orientated with the area. I had the Kemah Roll and the Tex Mex Roll (something close to that) and both tasted great. - Waiter was spot on with a good accent. They stayed on top of drink refills and taking empty plates. I went at a really slow time, 2-3 on a Monday. - I have been there in the past for the table cooking (hibachi) experience which was great. I am sure I will return to Ichibon again.

Part of a chain of Japanese Restaurant/Hibachi grills that are prominent in the Houston area, Ichibon provides fresh quality seafood, sushi, and Japanese inspired dishes. Ive been going to the Kemah location for years now and always had a pleasant experience. While most likely known more for their dinner menu, it is worth taking a look at the lunch bento boxes and sushi happy hour menus.

Ordered Hibachi filet and shrimp with fried rice. Worst food I have ever eaten. Filet and shrimp had no flavor. Fried rice tasted like liver. This is a sushi restaurant, not a Japanese steakhouse. Fried rice is an extra $3. Maybe due to the liver flavoring. Appetizer was stuffed crab rolls which turned out to be fried cream cheese. No waiting to be seated. Service was very good.

Sashimi was repulsingly unfresh. Ordered 4 pieces, was only able to eat 1. Rolls tasted good but fell apart due to poor wrapping and the sticky rice wasnt sticky at all to bond it together. Service was decent, but they seemed indifferent at best about the quality of the food. Not a horrible experience, but there are much better sushi spots in the area. I wont be back.

Ive been coming here for about 15 years now, but the last several times Ive come in for lunch, the fish has been off. Today, the salmon was slimy and smelled like it had gone bad last week. Unfortunately, I didnt realize how funky it was until AFTER Id put it in my mouth. My stomach is so upset. I wont be coming back.

This place is Awesome. Every Wednesday night they have Dollar sushi. Im a regular and the service has never been anything other than excellent. Tina is the best waitress. The Sushi chefs do a great job as well. More importantly, the sushi is very fresh. I highly recommend this place.

last night was a family night out. We all had a wonderful time. Not only were the children (and adults) thoroughly entertained, the food was delicious. I am not one who likes unusual our "different" foods. In this case I say, Hats off to you Ichibon. Hope to see you soon.

Food was good...terrible service!! We had a party of 15 and they crammed us together at a table to add 5 more people not with us...every other table had no more than 16 people...they added the gratuity to our checks...which is crap ecspecially when the service sucked!!!

This is by far my favorite place to eat. Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait, but always seems to be worth it. With it being close to the boardwalk makes it a great place to take my wife. The food and entertainment are wonderful. I would highly recommend them.
