I only gave this place three stars for the slow service. And, though the maguro was tasty it was a bit tough. Not exactly the butter soft maguro most are used to. My fiance and I had gotten the domo special for two. We had miso soup to start which was very delicious. I dont recommend getting the domo special if you arent the type to try a variety of fish. But each piece was delicious, aside from the tough maguro. I decided since I had moved from my beloved Colorado (where cheap sushi and wonderful japanese cuisine is around every corner) I needed a mochi fix. They have, supposedly, coconut filled mochi. I asked for it and was rudely informed that they hadnt bothered to make it. Over all a good food place but dont count on quick service if it is mildly busy. I will return to Domo in the future.

I have a food allergy which is a pain, but the one thing you find out from that is who is really from scratch. I talked to the sushi chef about my allergy the first time I visited and he made me some amazing rolls. It made my experience eating out great, which sadly is rare. I usually just stay home, but I dont make sushi. The second time I went the sushi bar was full, so I told the waiter of my restriction thinking he would go talk to the chefs. Nope, he knew everything I could and couldnt have and even had the chef make me something not on the menu to accommodate me. This place is awesome!

By far the best sushi in Kansas City. Friendly, accommodating staff. Reasonable prices. I once went there during the time between lunch and dinner when they are closed and they served our party, never saying a word, offering the usual great service. I didnt realize they were supposed to be closed until I noticed the sign on the door as we left.

If you are an avid sushi fan, DO NOT GO HERE. The fish is not very fresh now the two times I have been. This last experience the sashimi was not only really strong fishy or old but tough as if it were sliced incorrectly or poor quality. One of the cooked rolls we had was ok, but just suggest not wasting your money or tastebuds.

TERRIBLE service. There was one other couple besides us in the restaurant and it took over 30 minutes for us to get our sushi (which really does not take that long to make). The food wasnt terrible, but I have had better. I have never been back and probably wont just because of the terrible service.

We ordered off of the lunch menu, which came with the choice of soup or salad. When our bill came they charged us for the salad and refused to take it off. States it CLEARLY on the menu. Very frustrating. Decor was nice, service was slow and food was decent - we liked the idea of private rooms.

Overall taste decent but amount of fish per roll is slim. Rolls had rice coating as well as rice inside the roll to be a filler. Service/chef was slow especially for only having 4 tables occupied. Price does not reflect the quality of experience here. Will not return.

Came in on Christmas Eve with my sister. The place was pretty empty but everywhere in the area was closed , so we thought wed give it a try. Food was good, although it was a little pricey. Tea was not brewed (from fountain). Service was also fast and good too.

Love this place! They are so wonderful and every time it is a delightful experience! My sister is allergic to shellfish and has never had a bad reaction to their food. They are family friendly, delicious food, and great service!

Sushi was pretty mediocre, domo bowl was pretty good. They skimp you a bit on some things too. The octopus and seaweed salad has a few little pieces of octopus despite being like $2.50 more than the plain seaweed salad.

They have some very good American style sushi selection, and my husband and I go there once a while for their delicious chicken katsu (fried chicken breast). Give a try!

The sushi was not that good. Rice was crunchy, very little fish inside, and really salty some how. The fish wasnt very fresh. This was way over priced for the quality.
