Im torn on the rating. It was ok, not great. It took 15 mins before someone approached our table with water. Another 10 before our server stopped by. It was Fathers Day, but the place was not that busy. Why dont restaurants get adequate staff on holidays? I understand that the seafood tower took some time to prepare, but we only ordered a few other small plates and they took another 30 mins to come out after the tower. Ora salmon was best dish we ordered, as others have mentioned. Sounds strange, but flavors really worked nicely. The seafood tower contained nice fresh everything. Nice cucumber and strawberry relish, but a mayo-based sauce was just not good. The crab claws wouldve like a little sumptin. My kid is a pescatarian, and quite a few of their dishes have seafood and pork. Clam chowder was not as creamy or flavorful as I make at home, and I make it without bacon or ham. The roast beet and rhubarb salad with crispy kale was terrific. My daughter wanted to lick the plate. Corn bread to start also nice. Didnt have time to stay for dessert.

Went there yesterday . I was Expecting a good time since I checked review first . great services since the waitress are always changing your plates and forks ! but the food was not so good . Not sure why but the lobster roll is so small with half plate of fries for $28 , the bread is good . The fish soup of the day was not good , since the fish is overcooked I believe and it was $34 . It took about $100 for 2 of us , and we are in a hurry for a movie so i didn`t say anything , will not come back again since one of recipient(male ) said we need to wait 20 minutes , However the female recipient was nice to give us a table . That`s ridiculous . Not so nice compare to what I expected for such a price . OVERRATED .

Nice space. Service was very good, attentive informative welcoming. Wine list included many appealing and reasonably priced choices, and glasses were well tended. But the food was a disappointment. Several in our party ordered steaks, after much reminding that the same purveyor as Peter Lugers was where they came from. (Saltaire is in the former Willet House space, pioneered by Lugers expats) Rib eye did not live up to they hype. And the Branzino, which gets its own highlight on the menu, was mushy.... We eat a lot of fish, and when we order beef out, expect both to be at least as good as what we prepare at home. Hope they do better on our next visit.

We arrived before the dinner rush and were treated with very attentive service. Saltaire Oyster Bar specializes in seafood and it is clear they are very good at delivering delicious well conceived food from their appetizers to entree options! We enjoyed little neck clams and grilled octopus for appetizers and they were very tasty and the clams were very fresh! Our entrees included Yellow Fin Tuna, seared just right... and Soft Shell Crab. Both of us were very pleased with the preparation and freshness!!! Kudos to Saltaire!

Saltaire was a fine dining experience from the moment I entered the door. I was pleasantly greeted and shared some humor with the manager (maybe owner??). My guest and I were promptly seated in a lovely booth by the window and quickly greeted by our server. Oysters were fresh with plenty of varieties to choose from. The gravlax on whole grain toast with a mustard sauce is a must try! My drink order was delayed and the manager graciously gave me on the house. I cant wait to go back!

Went on 5/27/16 based on review in local magazine. We were there for 1 hour and fifteen minutes before appetizers arrived, we were told cold bar was very busy, though restaurant wasnt full. By the time entrees arrived we were ready to leave but, we stayed to eat. The entrees were inedible and the manager didnt charge for meals when told of our experience. That was the classiest part of our experience at Saltaire.

Lovely setting and terrific server. Even with just a few people in the restaurant at lunch hour, the food was extremely slow coming out of the kitchen. A seafood restaurant should have seafood that impresses. This one misses the mark. We had to return cold French fries to the kitchen. The lobster role was barely inedible and had precious little lobster for $26.

Was there last night for restaurant week. The one star goes to the waiter, the food was terrible. The new England clam chowder was watery with no taste. I ordered the mussels as my main dish and again bland and fishy. Would definitely not recommend. My friend and I were so looking forward to going here and it was a complete disappointment.

My family and I dined yesterday for Fathers Day. Our waitress Latoya was absolutely amazing and didnt steer us wrong. Of course I came with an appetite and the Fathers Day menu was full of specials. The drinks were made very well and every course was so filling we didnt have room for dessert. We will definitely go again.

Nice vibe, good service (friendly, attentive, but not overly attentive), good food. If you like mussels there are several good casserole options. Always something interesting on the beer list, too. Dining room is usually busy, and the bar can get packed and animated, but in a good way.

The seafood here is top notch and the service is on point and attentive. The menu is full of light and fresh, healthy items from fish, lobsters by the pound and even meat options. All expertly prepared. Great value for the money.

Love the nautical decor and friendly atmosphere; the seafood is incredibly good with new menu items added daily. A great place to go for a lunch or meet friends at the bar.
