This was the saddest excuse for sushi Ive ever had. $13 for a sashimi bowl that was half empty and the fish was so thinly sliced it almost disappeared in the rice. It didnt look like the picture at all!! The first time it came out with what the chef called eel sauce. First eel sauce Ive ever had that tasted like wasabi and was yellow. The rolls where rolled so poorly they fell apart right away just trying to pick them up. And not every piece had all of the ingredients they were supposed to! My Alaskan roll had 2 pieces with crab and avocado and 2 without. And half of my shrimp tempura roll was missing the shrimp!! And to top of this *perfect* experience, the ginger tasted like it had been bathed in chemicals before they served it. Please dont eat here people, there is way better sushi to be had and enjoyed.

I love the food! The owner Jay is a very nice person and he likes to make everyone feel special and have a great experience. The staff is very friendly, courteous and prompt in providing great service. I love eating at the sushi bar, what a fun time and great food! Dont miss out on this downtown restaurant!

This is the best sushi quality/price that you will find in East Texas. I have been going here for YEARS and I love this place! Even if you dont eat sushi, they have heaps of other delicious items to choose. Try the seaweed salad or the chicken katsu. You will love it, too!

Spring rolls were good but the entree wasnt. We ordered the shrimp and chicken hibachi. Both meats were overcooked and dry. The veggies were blackened and I couldnt identify all of them. For the price I guess we expected Iron Chef. What we got came from Americas Worst Cooks.

The food was on par with Matsu in Kilgore (I think theyre even owned by the same people) but a couple seated 10 minutes after us got their food 10 minutes before we got ours. Spend a little more and go to Shogun. You wont regret it.
