I have tried this place 5 times, and every time I ask myself "Why did I come back?" A lot of people love this place, but I dont get it personally. Heres why: 1) Parking -- Good luck if you find any. This place is downtown, and the parking spots that are here are tiny and tight. Here come to door dings... 2) Food -- They have it. This place is kind-of a novelty. They have games and food. That parts cool. But as far as stellar BBQ, this aint the place. Granted, I grew up on Lexington-style BBQ, and my wife grew up in Texas ,and this is neither of those. If you order the Brisket, it comes with a glop of sauce on it that ruins it. Good Brisket needs no sauce (or if it does, please let me put it on). 3) Service -- I have been here on a date, a family visit, and a group visit. Not sure why, but the service would be 3-stars if I could rate it separately. Certainly nothing Id write home about. 4) Food, again -- This BBQ joint always leave my wife and I feeling bad after I eat here. I eat BBQ lots of places, and never feel bad afterwards, so not sure why that it. Maybe it all goes back to the knot in my stomach from trying to park (see number 1). 5) Price -- The price would be OK if I like everything else. Since I dont, I just see it better to go to another BBQ joint (Rock Store BBQ if you are in Cabarrus or Union County, near Charlotte; otherwise, any Lexington BBQ joint will do). I hate to knock this place... all my friends seem to rave about it. But for me, just not making my list...

Overall we really enjoyed the food...good bbq, slaw, fried pickles, and slouvaki chicken salad. The restaurant is neat being in a restored warehouse and bringing back life to downtown. Some of the main issues we had involved the lack of knowledge of the wait staff and also the cleanliness of the restaurant. The table we sat at looked like it was not cleaned and had lots of crumbs piled up in the corner. It is neat they have old gaming systems at each table but they were covered in grease and food particles which was very gross. The wait staff was very nice but was severely under trained and not knowledgeable on the menu. When we asked about several items with what might be included for the ingredients due to our food allergies the waitress responded she didnt know. She didnt volunteer to find out either until I kindly suggested would she follow up for us. That to me is common sense if someone asks. Also when I asked for another bbq bottle after the one sprayed all over my shirt due to being clogged with pepper she completely disappeared. She came back when we needed to pay the check. Overall the food is very good but the restaurant itself makes it too dirty to be a destination point for our group.

Really love the BBQ, probably the best Ive had in a while. The atmosphere of the main part of the resturaunt is very nice too. Love the video games at each booth! My only issue with the place is the arcade area. Sometimes when the restaurant is very busy, we get seated in the arcade. It is there that the entire atmosphere of the resturaunt completely falls off. It goes from nice, dimly lit, comfortable seating to extremely loud, ugly, uncomfortable tables. Its like going from a nice restaurant to a chucky cheese in less than 5 seconds. Its so bad that if the wait staff takes us there, we ask for different seating and wait till its free. There are other portions of the restaurant that also suffer from an aesthetical change, but not to the level of the game room. The weirdest part is even though it looks like its set up for a childs birthday party, it mostly gets use by patrons from the bar. In summary, Camel City is one.of the dopest restaurants downtown but its apparent identity crises keeps me from.giving it a full 5 stars. Definitely worth your time.and money, just make sure they dont seat you in the arcade!

1st time visiting CCBF last night ! Was impressed with the building, menu, prices, beer choices, large screen tvs, and the atmosphere of this restaurant/bar!! Everything under one roof, plus the outside areas, impressed !!! BUT the service was HORRIBLE !!!! We decided to sit at the bar! Restaurant wasnt packed, good crowd but not overly crowded. 2 female bartenders, 1 male bartender These guys had absolutely NO PERSONALITY!!!!! Took forever for them to even acknowledge we were sitting there, AGAIN the bar wasnt crowded. Easy enough to handle with 3 bartenders...... After getting drinks and food was ordered you wouldve thought we were invisible .... Empty drinks were never seen by bartenders .....we were interrupting them if we asked for a drink.....the bothered expressions on their faces was actually comical.... This could really be a great place BUT the staff is going to ruin this business, so sad !!!! The staff make or break a place !!! Had to give a poor rating BC because if the staff !!!! These guys had no desire to be working or to making theirs customers happy !!!!!

The first time I visited this place, it was with a group from my work and we decided to go for lunch during a weekday. They offer a great selection from meat-based plates to unique salads. I have a feeling this place would get busy and crowded during the evening/late nights seeing as it has a "Dave and Busters" feel to it. They have a game room where you and some friends can play big-box Jenga/connect four or arcade games while you wait for your food or if you are just passing time with drinks. You can make reservations ahead of time and they offer isolated rooms for that special occasion. The restaurant is split into two floors so there should be plenty of space to accommodate you and your friends. There is bar seating in case you wanted to venture out with just yourself. The meals seem accurately priced for an above average sit-down restaurant. I would recommend this place and I will be making a note to go back myself.

The atmosphere is fun and the place looks nice.. but if you want good service go elsewhere! We were ignored at the bar, part of my food order was never rung in and when I asked about it she said she would go check on it. About 10 minutes later it came out. She never appologized, updated me or anything. More than once, I overheard the employees complaining and joking about things instead of doing their job. I also simply asked for some chalk or a pen to keep score for darts and she said uhh, I guess we dont have any. A pen would have been just fine and you had tons of those behind the bar! I might give it another chance in a few months in hopes that they hire some competent employees. Im not a difficult person to please at restaurants, I understand people are human and forget things but come on! A smile, an apology or an effort to make your guests happy goes a long way for your tip!

The food was incredibly good, ....BUT the service was horrible! We were a party of 18 and I let them know in person a week in advance, then again, by phone, mid week...then again the morning of by phone. They still looked surprised when we all filed in and they were completely unprepared for a large party! The food came out in 3 increments that were so far apart the first served were finished eating by the time the 3rd increment was served. Mine never came and by the time I got it I was full from accepting offers of fries and hushpuppies from others. The arcade was completely full of empty dishes and glasses from a party that had left before we even got there. They were still there when we left 2 1/2 hours later! They explained they were sorry because they were short staffed....BUT I HAD CALLED AHEAD, so I didnt understand this.
