We got there with high expectations from the raving we read online about the food. We are seated by a waitress who barely says two words to us. We look over the menu and decide what we want in less then five minutes. We are then left to sit there for over 15 minutes waiting for some one to take our order. Finally the waitress comes to the table and says a very rude "sorry for the wait" with no sincerity whatsoever. We place our order and wait for our food which came in decent time. Our mango lassi never came, even though the couple across from us ordered the same thing and it came instantly. The worst part was sitting there for over 20 minutes waiting for our bill while our waitress ignored us. When the bill finally did come the mango lassi was on it and i asked our waitress to remove it seeing as we never received it, nor were we asked once if everything in our meal was okay. We were forgotten once again and after 5 minutes we had to stop the waitress and ask for her to bring the bill back. She brought back the bill with the mango lassi still on it. At that point I was pissed. She went back changed the bill and brought it back within 2 minutes... Over all the food was okay, my husbands chicken tandoori was dry and there was no sharp knife brought with it. I would have enjoyed it much more if the service was better. I can honestly say it was the worst service I have ever received. The waitress, who wouldnt even make eye contact with us, was either an airhead or has no pride in giving good service. I would have come back if the service was good, but after that, you will never find me at Evergreen Indian Cuisine.

Terrible service! Dirty interior. Not appealing, Dirty carpets, needs to be updated, uninviting. First off, the place is hard to find unless you know where to look for it (the sign is old and barely visible and half lit, and desperately needs to be replaced or updated, and currently looks like it advertises a hotel/motel instead of a restaurant). Then, when we walked in, the inside was dark and cleanliness became an instant concern with the lack of it so apparent. The table we were given was sticky and unclean, the seats were bouncy and made me feel like I was in the back of a school bus in sixth grade. After sitting for a full 15 minutes before our order was even taken, we waited for another 30 minutes before receiving our food, and our waitress even forgot to bring us our appetizers to sustain us the wait, and instead had another waitress bring us our meal and appetizers together! I noticed that the second waitress had waited on us and at least three other tables by herself, and we only saw our waitress once, and suddenly scramble to make a last ditch effort as she waited for us to sign our tab and leave. We left feeling neglected while there, and suddenly rushed out at the end. Costumers should NOT have to wait for 45 MINUTES FOR ANY KIND OF FOOD! IF YOU EAT HERE, BRING A SNACK. DO NOT MAKE PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT, BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT MAKE IT! Some of the worst costumer service I have seen in a long time! But the food was good; however the price is too steep for the portions (or lack thereof). I doubt we will be back.

We visited Evergreen on 10/31/12 for dinner. The food was tasty enough to not really complain about it as it usually is. As an appetizer a friend and I shared the Sampler Hors Doeuvres which consisted of 6 small peices of lamb(4) ckn(2) over some lightly sauteed onions. The meat lacked flavor, was on the dry side & tougher than i would have liked. As an entree we decided to to share the Lamb Vindaloo. Whenever i have enjoyed Evergreens cuisine we have ordered it to go. The to go portions are significantly larger then the in house portions. Once again, the lamb was dry. I ordered their chai. It tasted like warm milk. I sent it back. When i approached the indian lady working who obviously runs the joint & commented on the food, sharing my feelings on our experience she simply shrugged me off then nastily commented that no one else complains. I love me some ethnic food! Thai, Indian, Lebanese, etc. & there are some great places to visit in Eugene. I wish I could say that Evergreen was one of them. Unfortunately, I feel there are others places with a friendlier staff, better deals & food that is just as good if not better. Evergreen is one of its own with the buffet, but why support an establishment that is going to shrug off its customers comments. Evergreen has been around for a while...maybe they have just gotten comfortable & a bit too greedy.Try Poppis Antolia on Willamette.

Guys, seriously, this place is an unhygienic dump. Im at a loss for words. Read this: not one, but 2 separate hairs were in my food at the lunch buffet- first a long thin one, then a thick black one curled up. I almost vomited. The place is old and dimly lit and the usual Eugene welfare drifters were in there scarfing down the junk. And now, the coup-de-grace, the final repulsion that put me over the edge- as I reluctantly went to pay, the Indian guy at the cashier looked like he had some terrible strain of the swine flu- HE SNEEZED NEAR MY CARD and then feebly handed it back to me, his mouth ajar and eyelids sunk. Guys, youll find cleaner places than this in the slums of Kolkata, PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE UNHYGIENIC AND IRRESPONSIBLE BUSINESSES LIKE THIS! I mean come on! the whole fr-kn pull of a restaurant after its food is hygiene, theres no excuse for it not even once.

Its hard to believe that this is an Indian cuisine. No major options to choose from. The moment we entered, there was this stinking smell of fish or something, which I assume was taken care of in a few minutes while we were waiting. Not to mention the service was so so so so Slow. Had to wait for 15 minutes for someone to come take our order. Sitting there waiting, we assumed the order was placed for the next day. To our surprise it arrived in just 20 odd minutes!!! No one bothered to ask whatelse we would like to have. So we decided to skip the deserts part. We never expected them to provide our check (and we were right). We walked up to the counter to ask for the check. I thought I should have been thankful they allowed me an opportunity to pay them, that is how I felt. Please find some good restaurant which servers "Indian" food around in town dont waste your time here.

The food was delicious, their menu daunting, the service scattered, and their decor was dated, to put it mildly. However, this is probably the only good Indian restaurant in the city of Eugene. It took over 25 minutes for our order to be taken, and the ala carte version of the dishes received didnt come with the Nan bread we asked, instead we got rice. However, the curry was excellently seasoned and proportioned, the rice fresh and flavorful, and the Nan bread is one of the reason to go here in spite of everything else. I would avoid the Chai tea however. I was hoping for the spicy and aroma-rich beverage that I have sampled from very experienced cooks before, and their steaming cup of bland was not it at all.
