Do Baltimorians know what they have in their back yard? Ejji Ramen is a legitimately amazing ramen shop in the most unlikely of places. Suburban Baltimore. The owner-chef is an alumni of the Jean Georges (a multiple Michelin star chef in NYC) Empire and his attention to detail shows. The tonkotsu broth takes approximately 36 hours to prepare and has all of the richness and umami that youd find in a traditional tonkotsu broth in Japan. The noodles are prepared with care and the other additions are spot on. Ill be back to have the pig out version for sure. The even bigger treat for me was the unexpected Laksa Ramen. The rumor is that laksa (a fish broth based noodle soup from Southeast Asia) was created in Malaysia and perfected in Singapore. Either way, its a fantastic bowl of rich seafood deliciousness with a ramen twist at Ejji. The ramen dog was a fun treat if youve got room for a flavor-bomb thats also a calorie-bomb. Nice beer list as well. Ill be back at Ejji every time I visit Baltimore. You Baltimorians please keep it open in the meantime! Youve got a treasure in your hands. Kampai!

If you ever have a deep hankering for ramen but dont have anything else around, then go to Ejji. Im not sure if I was expecting more or that I sort of knew what was coming; it was underwhelming. Dont get me wrong, I finished the tonkotsu ramen that I ordered and what was left in my wifes bowl (as I usually do). The broth was okay. The noodles were a bit overcooked. The ones in my wifes bowl had a clump of noodles at the bottom. The pork belly was prepared differently from what Im used to seeing in most ramen places. It had a slightly crisp brown crust, it was okay. The bowl was topped with green onion, nori, and what I thought was arugula. Like I said if you suddenly crave ramen and you happen to be in the area, Ejji is a good enough choice. Will I go there again? Yes, service was good and fast. Yes I will try the other items on the menu. Lots of parking within Belvedere Square. They accept credit/debit cards. If you go there and suddenly decide you dont want ramen, then there are many other food choices in this veritable food court.

Kimchi ramen. Not your typical ramen dish. this features a pan fried ramen in a kimchi flavored sauce with pork belly, poached egg, and green onions.Full of kimchi flavor and not very spicy in my opinion (I like spicy). The crispy noodles are nice so the bad thing about this dish is that the noodles get soggy fairly quick. Proportions are are also good for the ramen. You can also create your ramen (to a point). Like chose your broth (1 of 3), the type of noodle, and toppings. Id say ramen is Ok overall. Good in comparison to other ramen in Baltimore I suppose.

EJJI has, by far, the best ramen in Baltimore. The bowls theyve crafted are delightful, but you can build-your-own bowl for a filling meal thats just the flavor you want. The miso corn broth is an awesome option for vegetarians and vegans, as most ramen broths are pork based. Sign up for their emails to learn about special menu items, or ask the knowledgeable staff whats new and exciting. You wont leave EJJI disappointed or hungry!

Had the Tonkotsu ramen and was very disappointed with the whole meal. lacked flavor and the pulled pork had a weird taste and the pork belly was bland. Didnt enjoy the meal at all. The waitress was friendly enough but our table was dirty and sticky and we had to clean it ourselves because she took so long. Overall, I wouldnt recommend although some of the surrounding shops offer better selections.

Food is good as always. Its a busy day and Im still here while typing this review. Im so used to the friendly siblings who served us last time but this time, Its different. We normally sit at the bar but now were on the table. Its nasty and they dont care about it. I had to ask for a wet rag to wipe it myself. I dont know if this is the way the wanna do it or what, but its really unsanitary.

Make-your-own ramen is an interesting spin, though the potential to screw it up is high. Pork broth is flavorful, pork belly is either limp and fatty or perfectly seared (we experienced both between two dishes), pan-fried ramen is cold, tasteless, and blah. Soups are the way to go. Service is exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

Not the most authentic ramen I have had. But it is super nice to have a place like this in the Baltimore area. There ramen was decent. It is interesting that they come with a sauce I may picked from the menu. I had their squid pancakes which is a different version of the squid balls.

I always have a delicious meal when i come here. The food is adventurous, not your classic ramen, rather with a Malaysian twist. My favorite is the crispy pork belly and miso broth. The roti pancake app is also stellar. Great service too - the passion comes through in the product.

I tried this place once because it was the only substitute to another ramen place. It would be worth it if the ramen was half the price. The other restaurant Chocolatea is 10x better and cheaper, but unfortunately the owners want to close that and keep this garbage open.

You can create your own bowl of ramen there, but I am telling you, get this combination- tonkotsu broth with thick wavy noodles, pork belly, and yuzu soy sauce and add whatever other healthy green toppings you want. It is incredible.

The broth is tasty, noodles are not over cooked, a good portion of char su pulled pork, the pork belly is battered which is different from other ramen restaurants, and it is served temperature hot!

It was super hot and uncomfortable. Waiter didnt bring water when was finished. Ramen was sub par. Noodles tasted like the packaged ramen that you can get from 711 for 80 cents.

My daughter and son loved it as we were first timers...good kid friendly options...they loved the roti with lentil dipping sauce. Great portions...and good communal atmosphere.

The service is good but the ramen is not... It reminds me of orange chicken in some Chinese restaurants, not very authentic, but designed to favor American peoples taste...

Had this place for lunch the ramen was delicious. I love picking topping the one topping I do not recommend is the fried tofu. It seems dry to me and rubbery.

Pretty steep prices for bland food. I left hungry and despite sitting right at the counter, my drink was not refilled much at all. I wouldnt go again.

A decent facsimile of Japanese ramen, with an American twist! Delicious tea and interesting condiment choices. Fast service and vibrant atmosphere!
