I am a foodie through and through. I will travel great distances and break the bank to get what my tongue desires. When I am not at Priya, I wish I was there. The craving is real. Chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite, full of flavors, chicken that melts in your mouth, creamy sauce that has me dreaming about it. The staff has smiles in their eyes and serve food without MSG or other additives, only with love. I dont live in redding, but I make excuses to go just so I can have this delectable art they call food. The appetizers, the side dishes that come with the "eyes larger than stomach" thali size, the honey balls for dessert, I dont have anything bad to say about this place, and like I said, I am incredibly picky. Best indian cuisine in redding hands down.

FABULOUS!!!! I have not traveled the world but I have been to every state in the continental US and this by far was not only the best Indian food I have ever enjoyed but it also is one of the most wonderful mouth watering buffets I can remeber. I suggest you dont believe any of the one star reviews because my opinion and the opinions of other are just as good as theirs even the so called well traveled. All the little rating stars are like any other opinion.Everybody has one, and quite frankly I personally did not see one arrogant person in the place. I saw only the curtious and pleasant. So I recommend you check this little jewel of eastern cuisine out for yourself and then write your own review.

Very clean and well decorated. The man working the dinning room was one of the best waiters Ive had the pleasure to meet. Especially when you consider it was during buffet hours when service generally lacks at other places. The food was outstanding and not your usual dried out, cold , overcooked buffet fair. It was every bit as good as if you had ordered it fresh. He also didnt charge for my three year old who picked at chicken from his moms plate and noshed all the Naan on the table exclaiming DEWISIOUS! In between sips of the mango Lassi .

Weve been going to Priya for many years and the food is excellent! I lied in India for 20+ years and love Indian food, so I know the taste is authentic. Though it changed ownership approximately in 2014, the high quality delicious food is consistent. On our last visit we all ordered the Talli (plate meal): Sis got the lamb masala, Mom had palak paneer and I ate the Nava Ratna curry (9 kinds of vegetables). All our food was delicious, full of flavor!

This took out the whole family. We were sick for about 2 days. Cant pin point it. It all tasted good, just could not get off the toliet for 2 days. Most of us have allergys to MSG, dont know if that was it. I have had Indian food in San Diego, LA, even Nashville and never felt this way before. So If you have a Cast Iron gut, go for it, good price. But if you have issues with some food, avoid it, we did not think it was worth it.

The food was ok. But service was very poor. The person did not even have a good smile on the face when he was catering for us. Also they should keep the vegetarian and the non-vegetarian section separate - the rotis and the naan were kept next to the sizzling chicken and it stank up the whole area. Seriously I would not recommend going to this place but this seems to the only Indian restaurant in the area.

DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THE 4 STAR REVIEWS. THEY ARE NOT TRUE. I am a food lover and traveler. Came across PRIYA on way to Arcata. This restaurant food IS NOT AUTHENTIC. POOR TASTE. It does not match anywhere near to Indian taste. The quality of food is not up to the required restaurant standard. NO STAFF ATTENDED ME. Tip: If you are Indian, do not think to try food at this place.

I am in Redding while I was visiting the area and I was happy to find the Indian Restaurant in the are and I was amazed with food and service. Food was great which I dint expect as it is the area where there are not many Indians. I didnt have better Indian food even in places where there are many Indian restaurants. This is in my top 5 fav list. Thank you Priya !!!!!!

We were pleasantly surprised that this authentic Indian was hiding in Redding. The food is pretty good here. If you order the "meal" which comes with soup and a lot more other items is way too much food for one person. So if theres more than one of you eating here, order on regular and one with the meal so you can try the other items that comes with the meal.

I wish I had an option to give ratings in NEGATIVE. WORST FOOD, ARROGANT BEHAVIOR!! We ordered for take out for 4 people and that took 2.30 hrs for them to prepare. AND AT LAST THEY DIDNT EVEN PROVIDE FOOD FOR 2 PEOPLE BUT CHARGED US FOR 4 PLATES. DONT KNOW WHO GAVE THEM 4 STARS, PLEASE DONT GO BY THESE STARS AT ALL!!! A WHOLE EVENING WAS RUINED BY THEM!!!!

Very good! Their dishes are not bland. As a vegan the staff was very helpful in telling me what didnt contain animal products. I felt confident in ordering from their restaurant because of this. We had: Vada Sambar, Vegetable Samosa, Mixed Vegetable Pakora & Papadum. All wonderful. Their chutney is also very good. I recommend Priya highly.

I dont recommend the buffet, probably not at all, but especially late in the lunch hour! Both the naan and the rice were extra crispy (not a good thing) and some dishes were dry on top or gummy. Goat curry, butter chicken, and raita were fairly good, but nothing was quite hot: overall disappointing with minimal slow service.

I wouldnt recommend this place for Indians. Do not believe the reviews they are not true. Also do not try the buffet it is tasteless, the food is not fresh, the quality is not good. Being an Indian, I can definitely say that it does not match Indian food taste and standards. The staff is not at all friendly and attentive.

Very good butter and tikka masala chicken, i would rather have very tender meat from off the bone, rather then the tandoori chicken breast from the kabab, but the sauce made up for it big time. Good value for the a la carte considering you get rice and naan. wish we had something like this in truckee

Many vegetarian options. Spicing excellent. Pleasant fast service; Brightly lit, open dining room, playing soft bollywood music in the background; overall pleasing ambiance. A good value. If you are driving through Redding and craving good ethnic vegetarian food options, it is worth a stop here.

Had the lunch buffet, it was good. Some of the dishes needed filling/refreshing. My problem is I never really know what to order because I am not familiar with the Indian menu. But I do like the flavors and with the buffet I can try different things. Nice restaurant, very clean.

This place was amazing. The buffet was delicious, had great flavor. Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka. Love it over the white rice. Pan bread is amazing! Great service, the guy was really nice. Quick service and drinks always full. Will definitely be coming back!!!
