The Pub is my go-to local place to take family and friends, especially those visiting from out of town. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is always friendly. I brought a city chef here, and he loved the quaint atmosphere and gave the food two thumbs up. Its the perfect "mom and pop" type of place, and I would choose the Pub for dinner over any chain restaurant in the area, any day. My favorites on the menu are the turkey burger, the buffalo chicken quesadilla, and the pub mac and cheese. You really cant go wrong with any of the food options, and you never know when you might run into Charles Barkley. Whether you live in the area or are visiting from out of town, you should make the Pub your "hometown place."

The Pub of Penn Valley (PVP) is always great. The drinks? Great. Well, Im not one for drinking beer - but their selection is extensive (especially for a suburban watering hole) and their bartenders are amicable and make a MEAN Coke-with-lemon. The food? Great. Priced exactly the way it should be - you get precisely what you pay for: a delicious meal. I got the Caesar Salad and threw on a salmon fillet for good measure. ~$18. The Pub Wings (or Famous Pub Wings, if you will) are the subject of great philosophical discourse at the Pub. Theyre also unbelievable. No worries, though - there are delicious hot wings if youre into that sort of thing. My advice would be to get one of each.

Thursday night, 7 pm. Part of our party was late. We waited out on the patio for them to arrive. Soon we were invited in to sit in a booth, which was very gracious in light of the "complete party" rule. Very good service, very good southwest chicken soup and special mac/cheese, mussels, salad w/salmon, etc. The 60-minute was cold. We had a good time, as we have always had over several years. Especially nice was that due to lack of local interest, there was no screaming at the four or five sports TVs and we were actually able to converse comfortably. Wish we lived closed, cuz we need a good local. .

The best bar food I have ever had. It cant even be classified as bar food because it is so far beyond that. Gigantic portions of extremely well prepared culinary masterpieces that will leave your stomach full and your wallet too. Its also a very charming place to dine and relax. Highly recommended!

The Pub serves very consistent food and has very friendly staff. Some dishes are better than others. Theyve never missed with burgers or roast pork sandwiches, but my recent roast beef and cheddar missed the mark both on quantity and execution.
