Friendly, but rushed service. The all vegetarian dishes were flavorful and filling. I was happy to see so many vegan options on the menu. Not sure how long theyve been in Portland, but it felt like things were still getting dialed in (as evidenced by the rather long introduction cards included on every table and the menus preamble, as well as a few items on the drink menu needing updating). Everything felt just a hair overpriced (+$3) for what we got. Definitely worth a try, especially for vegans.

Ive watched folks walk away from Maruti when they see its a vegetarian restaurant. Big mistake. This family-operated restaurant is fantastic and has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Portland. The paneer tikka masala is rich and flavorful - so satisfying. The garlic naan is perfectly warm but with the perfect amount of lightness and a slight crisp. And, if youre lucky, youll get to see the owners baby girl. Such a delight! Great service, too! Its a charming place.

Today, I ordered a $7 box lunch. Kidney beans, tomato sauce, cilantro on a bed of basmati rice with peas. Extra bread was $4. They have special lunch take-out hours. A direct postal mail ad told me about this 3x a week special. The lady visionary was very friendly in greeting all the patrons. They cater to Vegan, Paleo, and Gluten-Free diets. It was Fry Bread today. Friday its Naan, which is buttered flat bread. I saw local handicrafts on sale, too.

We were at Maruti a fortnight back.Had a very good experience. The staff as well as ambience was very good . Food was also tasty.The existence of such a restaurant doubles the happiness of tourists like us. Had an excellent dinner experience here when visiting Portland. I went with my partner and his friend, a non-vegetarian chef. Everyone loved their food. Dishes are authentic, but presented in a modern way with very fresh ingredients. I was very thankful for the vegan mango lassi - a rare treat in a restaurant! I think I would be here every week if I lived nearby.

Its a decent vegeterian Indian restaurant with intelligent marketing strategies (For eg. many Indian dishes are vegan any way but Ive not seen any place marketing them such as "vegan non gmo organic rice cooked in vegan curry" and so on)... The food options are good... Ambience is decent as well.... Staff is attentive and friendly.... Overall a good place

Most mouthwatering and savory food Ive ever tasted. The staff and owners provide top notch service in a beautiful setting. Ive eaten at the top Vegan restaurants in NYC, Minneapolis, Austin TX, and this is the best vegan dining experience Ive ever had. I left full and more than satisfied. (The meal options were not lacking in protein)

I really want to like this place but Im struggling. I kinda feel like they might be catering to Westerners by toning down the spices because the flavors are just missing something. After traveling India for several months, I am picky about food but certainly not an expert. Also, the prices are a bit high, for Portland standards.

Phenomenal food and dining experience. Ran by a family who was super sweet and happy to make suggestions and answer questions. The deconstructed samosa is one of The best dishes I have ever eaten! I wish they had mango ice cream but besides that it was a great time ! I would recommend it for anyone who likes Indian food.

I have had the pleasure of eating at Maruti several times and have tried virtually every item on the menu. Truly the best and healthiest Indian cuisine I have had in any city in the US. They take special care with each dish and the restaurant has a loving vibe that comes from the owners and awesome staff.

We are new to the restaurant. The service was impeccable. Sweet and spicy goodness, the food flavors were clean. Very pleased we braved the twists and turns to dine here. Greatest pleasure was the gluten free Naan. Hello, it was a glorious treat to eat. Vegan, gluten free folks rejoice!

This is the real deal! Indian home cooking, vegetarian and vegan and some gluten free--Im none of those, but it was one of the best Indian meals Ive had in Portland. Really great staff, wonderful owner (one of them that I met tonight). Comfortable, casual and very reasonable.

This is our favorite restaurant! Every dish is a delight. Our service has always been excellent. When ever we have guests come from out of town, we make sure to bring them to Maruti. Good idea to call ahead for reservations. You wont be disappointed.

This is by far THE best Indian Restaurant we have ever been to, and we have been to many. The food is delicious, healthy, and prepared with love, the atmosphere is great, and the owners are wonderful. The most "sattvic" (pure) Indian food we have had.

Owned by a sweet outgoing Indian couple in their late 30s I think. Excellent vegetarian food with a home-made character. This is not a typical classic Indian restaurant, it has a great vibe. Ended up eating there several times while I stayed in town!

Great to-go lunch boxes on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. $7 gets you one of two rotating choices (check their website for details). Also serves great dinner, but pricey. All vegetarian with many vegan options available for both lunch and dinner.

Beautiful food with lots of flavor. The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive without hovering. Inexpensive enough for most days but special enough for a date because of the dynamic interior with thoughtful decor, and the warmth and originality.

We have been here a few times...it is THE BEST TIKKA MASALA IN PORTLAND. Theyre still working out kinks, but the beautiful goddess baby that graces the dining room more than distracts you from any waiting. Go to Maruti ASAP!

Beautiful decor and very attentive staff. We had never had Indian food before and they were very helpful on what to order. They gave us sauces to try that were on various dishes and complimentary wine tasting. Amazing food!!

Exceptional quality of food and flavors! We eat Indian food often and this is by far one of the best weve had (definitely the best in Oregon!) recommend- paneer tikka masala, veg. Biriyani, mango lasse. Finish with a chai.
