Been there many times, and have shared most of the other reviewers experiences, from 5 stars to 1. Recently, its been more 1 to 2 stars, and while Ive never had to leave in frustration, Ive been close. I have seen several other customers get up and leave, because the lunch service is so stretched and inconsistent. And while the mature woman who seems to run the place is always pleasant, the younger man borders on hauty arrogance, really not very pleasant. Recently, I ordered 4 vegetarian meals to go for a friend who was ill. The man who seems to be co-manager stacked them in a plastic bag, did nothing to secure them, either closing them tightly or tying the bag to hold them in place. Result: Backing out of parking, they fell over and two curry dinners went into the floor mat. I mentioned that to him the last time I was there, in a friendly suggestion sort of way; his response was that I "Should have driven more carefully." Not a bit of acceptance of responsibility, much less regret for the mess in my car. There are plenty of alternatives to dealing with this attitude. Sometimes it was fine, but the complaints others have listed are all valid in my experience, and I dont need to put up with disdainful "service" other places.

Im tired of spending money on mediocrity. Arrived for lunch buffet at 1:45 (which ends at 2:30). Should be plenty of time left for service. First trip through the buffet: Raita spoon handle is totally covered in raita. Gross. Rice bowl is at the bottom and crunchy. Drips and mess everywhere. Butter chicken is nothing but sauce... only remnants of chicken remain. I tried to attempt a 2nd trip to actually get some butter chicken. Pretty hard to do when there are zero clean plates or mini bowls left at the beginning of the buffet. I guess all the plates and bowls were on the tables that had yet to be cleared off. Also, has anyone else wondered about the lack of a sneeze guard at the buffet? Zero water refills and they never did bring the chai tea that was ordered when we were seated. Weve been here a number of times in the past year, however, we wont be back.

Great authentic Indian food, with the perfect balance of spicy, mild, and cool in the meal set. The curries were small but but very filling; the tikka masala was rich and sweet, with some of the best paneer Ive had anywhere, while the saag was thick and savory, with melt-in-your-mouth-tender lamb. The cocktails are interesting and tasty, the lassi is a refreshing complement to any spicy meal, and the gulab jamun is definitely the best Ive ever had- sweet, crispy, and with just a tough of that fried umami flavor to complement the overwhelming sweetness of the syrup. Also, the inside decor is understated but charming, a mix of clean and modern with traditional decorative finishes.

Elegant family restaurant, perfect for a special evening out weather with friends or just someone special. The staff is wonderful and charming, waiting for the food is a privilege, the entree are the best I have had. I have enjoyed the finest Indian cuisine New York City has had to offer and I would rate the thrilling combinations of spiced dishes higher than any restaurant I have ever been to. The relaxed but warm decor of the dining rooms put one at ease and the smiling, friendly waitresses are the epitome of excellence in their profession. I love this quaint and surprising Indian home. It is by far my favorite place to dine. Kevin

The Beaverton Swagat location is very well done. The restaurant itself is always clean and looking well kept. The decor is nice while not getting in the way of the dining experience. The food itself is usually very well done too. Occasionally the chicken might be dry or the poppadom a little less than, but this is rare and does is not generally enough to make for a bad experience. One of the best things they do, besides cooking delicious food, is to include both rice and naan with each dish. Overall a very good dining experience and one of my favorite Indian restaurants on the west side.

Srimanth who owns Swagat catered for our sons debut concert event 2 weeks ago. It was a complete turnkey project and he did a fabulous job of the whole thing! The food was wonderful (the guests are still raving about it), and he took care of everything from snacks in the lobby to cleaning out the place at the event. We did not have to do anything other than eat, and have fun that evening!! Thank you Srimanth and crew for a job well done above and beyond our expectations:) The dishes were delicious!! Stood in waiting area for 5 minutes with no sign of server/host. Whens onetime finally turned up to serve the growing line of customers I asked for a table for one his response was, "5-10 minutes." So when I asked for clarification (as to why I have to wait 5-10 for a lunch Buffet when there are clearly empty tables) and he interrupts me with another "5-10 minutes" with no other explanation or consideration. Well guess what it took me LESS than 5-10 minutes to dine at another establishment with better customer service.

Ive been to their lunch buffet twice and I was very disappointed by their low quality food. Many of their lunch offerings are mushy, soupy and very unappetizing, with very little meat. And what little meat you find in the offering are unevenly cooked, with some parts burnt and some with blood in it. I didnt like the aroma on most of the dishes. Definitely not worth the $10 price. The dinner is a bit more pricy but the quality was slightly better. We had Chicken Tikka Masala (boneless), Tandoori Chicken and nan.

Horrible food and attitude. Ordered South Indian combo and got a masala dosa. The feeling in it tasted stale. So i told the server about it. The server countered saying it was made yesterday and walked away. On asking again he said it was made yesterday and is considered fresh. I am raised eating this stuff and know the difference between fresh and stale. The guy was rude and did not apologize and in fact acting erratic and saying I was confrontational. The owner mysteriously disappeared and didnt talk to me.

The food was horrible; buffet dried up and the rice was empty often as not, selection poor and didnt taste good. Service totally nonexistent, woman at counter just grunted at us and nodded to dining room on arrival. I had to find the pitcher of water on a counter and pour our own refills (no other drinks offered). Price was high even for a good place, which this isnt. Ive had Indian from coast to coast, its my favorite, but this is the worst I ever had.

Shabby smelly and dark. We went there for lunch. As we entered the premises we were shocked by the lack of light even on a nice sunny day. There was a very peculiar smell / stench. I know indian restaurants usually have a typical aroma of indian food which is nice. However this was a weird stench. We did not make it past the reception. Needless to say we did not eat. I m giving 1 star only because we did not taste the food and cant comment on that.

Excellent. The lunch buffet gets busy fast, and understandably so. The food here is excellent! All dishes are kept hot, and due the busyness of the lunch hour, the portions in which theyre kept are quite large. I prefer a smaller sized Indian dishes, but this was all still great. This was my 3rd visit, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first 2. The only "complaint" I have is that the Naan could be fresher. 8/10 would go again (and again).
