Has been a family favorite for more than 10 years. Its very consistent. The portions are huge for the price. I always feel like I got what I paid for. Love going back. Servers are always friendly and the atmosphere is great. Ive been a customer at the Billings, Bozeman, and Belgrade locations now. My only gripe is that the Bozeman location needs to be bigger with more seating! We never go in the winter time because of that.

Small and homely, I fell in love with this place instantly, and being so close to campus, its great for students. Without a doubt the best subs Ive ever had - might not be the healthiest things in the world but that should be expected from something so delicious, and even more so filling. Spend $13 here and you wont eat for the rest of the day. Staff is always extremely relaxed and friendly.

First time I had Pickle Barrel was over 20 years ago and it seems to get worse every time I go there - which sadly isnt very often now. Quality is a big issue, not the best ingredients by far, multiple instances of foreign objects found in their sandwiches, and their supposedly "massive" size has definitely shrunk over the years. Definitely wouldnt recommend.

Yep, sometimes there is a wait, and sometimes the college aged staff might not be the most attentive employees, but the sandwiches, if not the best in Montana are in the top 3. As a kid we skied Bozo every weekend, and every weekend we fueled up on the Pickle Barrel. Unlike most memories, it is still as good as it used to be.

Arguably the best sandwich shop in Bozeman, but unequivocally the best atmosphere with the best tradition. A staple of Bozeman - this is the place you tell tourists to try above all else, if not for the food then for the personality of this tiny shop near campus. Very large portions, a half is almost too much for me to eat.

I have loved Pickle Barrel for years, but tonights meal was so disappointing. The hot sandwiches were lukewarm and flavorless while the cold subs arrived missing ingredients. Everything seems to have shrunk right down to the wimpy pickles. Ive never before had a bad experience with them. Hopefully it was just a fluke:(

Great sandwiches, not so great service. For the latest online order, they forgot a sandwich. I had only ordered 4. I called them as soon as I realized one was missing. On the phone I had to repeat myself twice before being understood. Called back to clarify, and was hung up on. Love the sandwiches, not the service.

First time eating here and it was by far the WORST food I have ever tasted. I got the mushroom steak sandwich, paid $16 plus a tip and fed it to my dog. Not sure if it was on off day, or theyre always this bad. Needless to say I wont be coming back. If I could it would be negative five stars.

The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because the delivery time was great. How ever this is the third time in a row I have asked for no tomatoes and received tomatoes on my sandwich. I even put no tomatoes on the order twice. So minus 3 stars for each incompetent mistake.

Sentimental. They delivered PBs to the dorms at Montana State until 10PM in 1975 and saved many starving college student pulling all-nighters. When traveling through Bozeman, I always stop at the little shop on College street. Oh, and the subs are absolutely great too.

Ordered the steak and mushroom sandwich. It was a greasy mess. The bread was unimpressive and it took forever to make. The atmosphere is nice, which is why I rated this a 2 instead of a 1. Would not go again. If you want a great cheese steak check out Franks.

Pickle Barrel is a Montana staple. The sandwiches are delicious and huge and the staff is generally nice. The Bozeman location is super cramped, but that is just part of its unique appeal. Dont forget your free pickles out of the actual barrel.

To indoor growing guide: ITS A SANDWICH SHOP. Do you go to a tire shop looking for furniture? Didnt think so- How can you degrade them for not serving other food. They serve sandwiches and they do a damn good job at it. Best sandwich in town!

Love this place, all three locations. The subs are enormous! Caution: the whole sub is actually like eating 3-4 subway footlongs. Stick with the half unless your sharing. The Grizzly is my favorite as its a meatball park. Cant go wrong!

I cant for the life of me figure why people like this place, if youre into rubber Oscars Meyer meat and more mayo then should ever go on a sandwich, sure its great. I have Jimmy Jons that tasted 5 star compared to Pickle Barrel.

Lunch doesnt get much better than the Pickle Barrel. Some warm sandwiches take a minute on the grill, otherwise you are in and out fast. Even the regular sandwich is massive! If you are hungry after the PB, you got problems man.

All hype. Was so excited to try this place, only to realize everything as Sysco products, bread was average and cheese wasnt even 100 percent real cheese. Sadly never goin agin. The fake-mess of the sandwich freaked me out.

My group, a total of 4, ordered various sandwiches and we all concluded they were fantastic. The atmosphere was lively with many people in a small space but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great, local sandwich shop.

Everything is good. Portions are huge. I always split a half sandwich. Food is fresh, delicious, and made well and to order. I recommend the Downtown Chicken. Dont forget your free add-ons!

I just got a cold pulled pork sandwich and horrible customer service. I have been eating here for 20 years and will never go back after today! What a bummer, used to be one of my favorites!

Good fresh ingredients and the sandwiches are huge- especially comparing to subway/quiznos etc. Store is neat inside and the employees were very courteous. Definitely recommended.

Big, tasty sub sandwiches on the cheap! Gets busy with the college nearby, so expect a slight wait. Free pickles with every order, and friendly staff - A staple of Bozeman.

Great place for a hearty sandwich. Half is big enough for most people; a whole can last you all day. A classic college sub-shop and a Bozeman original.

Huge sandwiches - a half can feed 2 people. Not to mention the sandwiches are great - the bread is very good and so are the ingredients.
