I would never go back to Positanos. The owners son was very rude to me and more concerned with winning an argument than trying to understand (or keep) a customer. The meal started out okay. It was quiet. A Wednesday night, hardly anyone in the restaurant. Then two women sat down in the booth next to my daughter and I and started talking politics very loudly with a man, who turned out to be the owners son. After five minutes, they didnt change the subject or lower their voices as we had hoped, so we headed to the counter and asked our waiter to pack up our food. While we were waiting, the owners son appeared to take my money and I told him why we were leaving. He said very defensively that he was entitled to his opinion and I said that he was but he didnt have to be so loud. He continued saying that he was allowed to have an opinion (even though it was the tone and volume of his voice that was the point not his opinion). Then his brother chimed in from behind the counter and began mocking me, too. The two of them were sneering and laughing at me. Unbelievable. He ended by saying that "if the other guy was still in office we [the restaurant] wouldnt be here in four years." Id say that if the management continues to treat customers with such disrespect, they may not be there no matter who is president.

Place has changed in the last 10 years. I grew up near this place and I have sensed a decline in the quality and taste of the food. Owner and staff always seem nice and hospitable. However the food lacks flavor, seasoning, and originality. I ordered the brother penne Alla chicken: the chicken cutlet was overcooked with the breading falling off, pasta is simple box pasta, vodka sauce lacked flavor and just tasted like heavy cream, and a little salt would have gone some way. Id consider this dish something bought at a cheap pizza place for like 12 bucks, instead of the 18 bucks I paid. Your dollar could go further at other Italian restaurants in the nearby area. My belief is that over time restaurants like this tend to cut costs to increase profit margins with things like putting less protein, less seasoning, and good chefs in the kitchen. Ill take a guess that this type of practice has resulted in a decline in sales for the business as well.

was here w my friend Friday evening for dinner. after dinner we were chatting and owner came over to us And politely asked us to leave since there was a big party waiting to be seated.. He tried to offer us free dessert to entice us to leave earlier. I am a business owner myself and think this was extremely rude. "Big party" should have made a reservation

I have eaten at this restaurant twice and both times it was just okay. Nothing special. The sauces taste like the ingredients come from cans. I ordrered the Rigatoni Positano and the pasta was so overdone that it was falling apart. Sorry, but Im just not crazy about the food at this place.

Great chic Italian restaurant. Very trendy but food is all out of this world. Definitely a place to stop in and try. That being said, I would definitely recommend ordering appetizers before your main meal to be fully satisfied. Plus, the menu offers such a variety.

This place is fabulous, great ambience for a date, meeting with a couple of friends. Pretty healthy menu and very usual there is a local musician playing an instrument. There are also a big collection of local artists work for sale on the walls all the time.

I have been a long time customer of Positano. The food and service are always great! Joe, Steve and the rest of the Positano family always go above and beyond to accommodate their customers. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great Italian food!

The Worst Pizza ever. Crumbled dried out sausage and virtually no red sauce. The crust could have been cooked a little more. It was too doughy. Then the Cold antipasto was another disappointment. No lettuce no tomatoes. All in all I give 2 Stars.

Fantastic experience. Food is on par with any Italian restaurant twice the price in the NJ area. We get a great deal of delivery as well as eat in on those nights we want to get out. Frankly the best Italian restaurant in northern NJ

Its ok food from a short order cook. The pizza is less than desireable. The strong point is the location. Please update that dreadful bird decor area on the ceiling. I would suggest just removing it and adding some fresh paint.

Whether we dine in or order out the food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Service is great as well, a very welcoming environment. I love that there is an establishment like this one right in town! Keep it up guys!

Excellent food and very fast for lunch. I didnt try the pizza and they did go a little light on the "gravy" on the entre. They were more than happy to bring extra sauce. Friendly service. Worth all the good ratings.

You can find better italian food at plenty of other places near here. Also, the owners are dirtbags! Nice to their customers faces, but they only care about money, and treat all their employees like garbage.

Great neighborhood restaurant serving well prepared Southern Italian favorites and delicious pizza. Have been patronizing Positano for many years and plan to continue to do so.
