The other positive reviews on here must be from paid employees, this diner is so overprice I thought I would have to sell a kidney to pay for my simple meal. I wanted a grilled cheese sandwich and when I asked if it came with fries I was told it did not. I asked if an egg salad sandwich came with fries I was told it did not. The waitress then told me a whole list of sandwiches with fries, problem is I am a vegetarian and all of the sandwiches she suggested had meat. So I ordered the grilled cheese with a side of fries. What did I get, a tiny little average at best grilled cheese with the typical tiny cup of coleslaw and a plate of fries and about a 1/3 of them that were overdone. And how much did I pay for all of this wonderful food? Almost $10 Are you serious? My companion had a turkey burger deluxe that had a turkey burger (meat costs more than cheese) lettuce, tomato, coleslaw, onion rings, and fries. He was charged $7.95. I understand I got more fries, but overall he got more food and I still paid almost $2 more. I will never go to this place so they can bend me over.

Based on the other reviews, my experience may be the exception rather than the rule, but I was terribly dissappointed. I came in to get a very simple order to go at 9:00 am on a Wednesday. The diner had a handful of people, but was not at all busy. My order was simply an egg & cheese omlet with a side of bacon. I am on a protein diet, so I requested just the eggs without any bread or potatoes. I took so long that I had to request if I could go make the eggs myself! When it finally arrived, I was presented with a bill for just under $12.00!!! That was for 3 eggs, a slice of american cheese and 3 pieces of bacon! When I challenged the bill I was told by the person at the register that they dont come up with the prices and thats what they charge. It was probably the worst dining experience Ive had in many years. Im on the road for work each day and I eat in Diners all over the state. I think there are many better places to choose than this if youre in the area. YMMV.

This is by far our favorite diner. If you order off the Specials of the Day menu, I challenge you to get a better meal at a fancy restaurant, and most of them are priced at no more than $15.95, with a salad or soup and sides included. The Greek food is especially good; their house dressing is so good (Pappous Dressing, a balsamic vinaigrette) that they started bottling it and selling it. Try the Greek Meze sampler, with spinach pie, chicken meatballs, pita bread, a huge chunk of homemade feta cheese, seasoned fries and Greek salad with olive tampenade for about 15 bucks, or the large Greek salad, which will feed two hungry people and spoil you forever for ordering a Greek salad anywhere else. I agree that for average American fare theyre probably a dollar or two more, and I seldom get takeout from there so I cant speak to the quality of that, but for eating in its fantastic. Very friendly staff and excellent service too.

Youve got to be kidding me! We have ordered from this place 2 times in the past 2 years and both times they messed the order up and it was extremely over priced. I ordered a california cheeseburger with no bun cooked medium well. I get the order home and there was no cheese on the burger and the burger was medium rare not medium well. I had to heat the damn thing up. Not to mention that the burger and a turkey club cost us $28 dollars. Save your money and dont waste your time with this place. You could spend a little more and go to Attilios in Dover and be happy with your meal...

Have been going here for years and have always been completely satisfied with service and food. Last night was terrible, there were 4 of us and none of the food was even hot and my husbands meal looked completely overcooked and inedible and it also was not even warm. The diner was not busy so there was no reason for the food to come out cold. As far as my husbands dinner it was a real disappointment because their meals have always been top quality in the past. I hope this was just a one time off day for them otherwise they will lose us as customers.

They recently renovated the inside. While it was clean and looked new it must have cost them a fortune...because they raised the prices exponentially. On top of the ridiculous prices they are now nickel and diming for things that should be should be standard fare at a diner. Its supposed to be a Jersey diner... entrees should come with soup or salad. Its $2.50 extra at Alexis for a soup or salad. French Fries with your burger? $3.00 extra. The food is ok. Its standard Jersey diner food but I cant fathom what they are thinking with these prices.

Great 60s style diner, felt as if you were dining in the past. I have been here many times, for many meals, and they impressed every time. The burgers are great, and they satisfied my taste buds in a way that other diners couldnt. The waiters were very nice and attentive, and the food took 15-20 minutes to get to our table. I definitely recommend this small(ish) diner in Randolph for a good meal and good service.

You can tell this place is great because they are one of two businesses that are still open in a complex where all the other stores are closed. Delicious food (even compared to a "higher-class" restaurant) in a classic diner atmosphere. Wait staff is great, plenty of parking. Only downside is the prices are a bit up there for a diner, and the only reason why I didnt give five stars.

This diner is excellent! First off, the diner is CLEAN. Their food is always tastey, the portions are hearty and the service is very professional. Typical diner food - burgers, breakfast, sandwiches and of course the specials that include soup or salad, coffee or tea and dessert for reasonable prices. There is always parking available, too even when the place is packed.

The burgers are FROZEN. You can tell, because they taste freezer burned and theres congealed fat in it. The bacon Swiss burger was gross. My girlfriend threw up from her meatballs. Not believing they were bad I tried them. Literally THE WORST meatball I have ever had. Complete mush, and tasted like rotten meat. Place has gone downhill over the years. Dont go!

The Alexis diner is great! Its a favorite staple of mine to go to. Service is good and Ive never had to wait really for a table for two. Im a fan of the Chicken Ranchero! Especially because it tastes great and comes with curly fries. The cookies at the door are usually pretty good too! Ya cant really go wrong here!

One of the best diners in NJ. Food is good. Menu is proper NJ diner big, but everything on it is still good. If you want something and its not on the menu, just ask for it, theyll make pretty much whatever you want. Service is excellent and fast fast fast. Prices are reasonable. Never had a bad meal here.
