My daughter saw the ad for the The Chatterbox in our Hotel brochure and thought it would be a nice place to try. The brochure said prices up to $14 for a meal, which was a complete lie. Prices went up from there by a large amount. From the outside it is an inviting place but the attraction ends at the door. The inside could use a good makeover, especially, the water stained ceilings. We were told there would be a ten minute wait, even though, half the tables appeared to be empty. I was getting a bad feeling during the wait and I could see the disappointment building on my daughters face. Before I even saw the menu, I was preparing to settle for something simple. Reading the menu did not help much. There was nothing I wanted to try. So I settled on a so called Angus beef burger with cheese and the clam chowder which was a balance between New England white and Manhatttan red. The others in my party went for the crab cakes, and seafood platters. The result was a disappointing Mrs. Pauls type breaded, with the emphasis on the bread, meal. The clam chowder was tasty but very salty. The burger was a crisp, overdone cow pie appearing less than the 6 ounces advertised, with a cheese product topping between a McDonalds style sesame bun. All this came on a plate with a bag of pathetic chips. The fish was just Mrs Pauls ok and the fair was heavy for a trip into gastronomic disaster. The service was just ok, not great. My advice is to do some homework before you set out to dine and save your vacation from disappointments like this place. The Savich Family

We were skeptical about coming back to th3 chatterbox after past experiences. We saw new reviews that there was a new owner. We noticed that the new owner Maria had personally answered all reviews. We decided to give it a second chance. We are so glad we did. Food was great and everyone was so nice. We had our 3 children with us. The youngest is 3. Everyone was so patient with us. Candice was our waitress and spoke with the children like they deserved to be. Kids loved her. Maria was there and we told her about seeing her reaponses on reviews and she said it only takes a min and thanked us for coming in. We have house down here and will definitely come in for a meal each time we come down. Give the place another shot you will be glad you did.

Delicious food and friendly staff, however, some waitresses payed less attention to their customers. I was lucky to have a great waitress who was willing to work for her tip. The food was good, but the prices were a bit steep for a simple lunch. One gourmet burger, one regular hamburger, and three grilled cheese sandwiches. Two milkshakes, a childs milk, three ice teas. Apparently, they charged for the refills on iced tea. Bill came to $71 and some change before taxes. I feel it was rather overpriced. The quality of the food was great, the waitress, Fransesca possibly off on the spelling, performed much better than her counterparts. If it was not for her and the great tasting food, this restaurant would not have received a good rating.

More like half of a star. Service was slow .Order came out wrong and forgotten items . Food was bland . Obvious my wrap was under a heat lamp or microwaved as it stuck to my plate . When asked for the rest of my order ..it seemed like a bother .Waited for my check as the waitress socialized with staff . When paying I was not greeted with a smile nor was I asked how my meal was. I did tell them anyway .There was no Im sorry or what could we have done . It was immediate defense . Beyond poor customer service and unprofessional . Ive had better sandwiches at a gas station and much cheaper .

I couldnt have asked for a better dining experience - it was my first time at Chatterbox and the food was amazing! Breakfast is my favorite meal, so I was excited that I could roll out of bed around noon and still get eggs and bacon. The food was fresh, the restaurant was clean and the wait staff was engaged. I loved the retro feel of the restaurant, they even had a retro soda cooler that fit right in. The deserts looked amazing but I had to hold myself back since I was headed to the beach...maybe next time! If youre at the shore you should definitely eat here!!

Liked the atmosphere but considering how much staff was present, the waitor was very unintentive. Apart from the service, the salads were overpriced considering none of the ingredients were fresh. The staff admitted that they used canned vegetables and pre peeled avocados... not to mention that these "ingredients" were served over a bed of lettuce drenched in bland dressing that ruined the whole concept of the salad. Overall, it was a bad experience and I regret eating there.

The positives fun decor, great milkshakes and the seafood chowder is great. The downside: we ordered a PLAIN cheese burger it arrived with lettuce tomato and onions which my son hates. On my dish the Mashed potatoes were cold. Another member of our party order a plain grilled chicken sandwich it was loaded with spinach. Asked the busboy for the mayo our waitress forgot since she was not nearby and he told us to ask our server when she returned.

Positive(s): The fries and burgers were great. My youngest daughter enjoyed her meatball sub, The restaurant was extremely busy when we were there. The staff, however, was pleasant and polite. Negative(s): Our waitress had trouble keeping our drink orders straight. The food was slow to get to our table. My kids told me that the restrooms were small and messy. Overall, the positives outweighed the negatives. I will go back in the future.

The restaurant has the atmosphere of a morgue. Tacky exterior, filthy and fly-ridden interior. A bathroom you hardly have room to breathe in- mind the sudden ramp, by the way. Stereotypical "diner" style fries-which are universally awful. Food came out late, staff acted rowdy, unprofessional, and generally irritating. Sticky, warm temperature, and no concept of good food. At eight dollars a person, it should be on a dollar menu.

Marie Repici ran this silly restaurant like it was a fine dining eatery. She was shrewd, vicious and nasty to her employees and customers. Her employees would not care to please such a nasty woman, so food was made and delivered without pride or satisfaction. Her shrewd and selfish lifestyle led to the loss of both her husband and son. Karma got her back. Hopefully she looks back at her life and God will forgive her.

Service was great. Food was ok...my major disappointment was the home fries....they came out looking great..but were barely cooked. Coffee tasted bitter...a lot of things could have caused that. My son was very happy to have pigs in a blanket. Also I would definitely go here instead of uncle bills. Cant say anything about their ice cream...we were only there for breakfast.

The wings for appetizer were good, other than that the food was terrible. My burger with mac and cheese on it and my fries came out cold, room temp. Must have been sitting there a while before served. My mom ordered the "thanksgiving" Turkey sandwich, which also came out cold and the turkey on it was like trying to chew leather. We wont ever be returning to this place.
