We used to go to Shamrocks fairly regularly, but we stopped going there with any frequency a while back, and this weekend there was firm reminder why this place is now on the "never, ever, again" list. The service here is the worst of any place I have ever been. After waiting atleast 30 minutes for a table, we are finally seated. And there we sat, and waited. No one ever bothered to come bring us a glass of water or take a drink order. While we waiting for a table, I did notice large group of employees standing aroundthe front talking, while a large number of unoccupied tables sat unlceaned. Does this place have a manager or supervisor to see that the work gets done? In all fairness, the food is good, for Minnesota. No, this place could not compete in New York or Chicago, while it does sport big city prices, and we did enjoy going there on a regular basis, but the service just kept getting worse and worse (orders wrong) and slower and slower, even when it wasnt busy. Busy is no excuse for a quality operation, as it is suppoposed to busy....thats the idea. Watching wookers stand around chatting while you cant geta refill or any service is just poor. So maybe over the last year and half my wife and I have spent maybe $3000 at the Shamrock...you will not get any more. So if you like waiting forever for a hamburger and paying a New York price for a beer, and being ingnored along the way, the Shamrock is your kind of place.

So bummed! This is my favorite place to grab a burger but the place doesnt have the charm that it once did. The wait staff was kind of aloof. The hostess tried sitting us next to the stage where the band was about to begin playing and when I asked for a different table, she seemed confused. The whole job of the hostess is to know whats going on in the restaurant. FYI, it was maybe at 50% capacity. Plenty of seats. Next the waitress. She just didnt care. She didnt refill our drinks, she didnt make suggestions, no dessert options, she didnt make us feel welcome, etc. Again, she seemed like she didnt want to be there or care about our table. This seems to be an all too familiar tone of Shamrocks as of late. Everything is on autopilot. Theyve got their fame, they have a good crowd, so the personal touch doesnt matter anymore. I remember when Ted and Mike were just starting out with the Nook. They (and staff) did everything they could to make a person feel welcome. That feeling is gone. Zero personality. Zero care. God. Maybe I have to start going to Matts for my burgers. ugh.

My burger was great and the bacon/honey cheese curds are awesome. The prices were fine and the tap list was good. My biggest issue was the kids menu. My niece got the kids macaroni and cheese, and it was definitely just a box of mac and cheese you can buy from the store yourself. And my son got a kids cheese pizza, and it was just one of those little 5 inch frozen pizzas you can buy from the store yourself. Really? I mean, I get it. They are kids and kids probably dont care about whether something is made right there or just bought from a store. And part of me was honestly just happy that my 3 year old just ate because any parent of a toddler will tell you meals can be a battle. But come on.... Do something homemade for the kids, too. Dont stoop to the cheap stuff I can buy myself. And if youre going to do that, at least charge a more reasonable price than the $7-8 it cost each. Kinda ridiculous.

Horrible experience! We have never consistently had good service at this location. The Nook is always amazing, but when we have visitors we like to take them to Shamrocks because theres more room (sometimes.) We waited our 45min., the table they sat us at was short a chair, which is fine except that it took over 5minutes to find one. Once we were all able to sit down a hostess comes over to tell us that we can only stay until 8:00 (45min) since they have another group coming in. We told her that was rude and she said, sorry my manager told me to tell you that. We sat for another 7min., mind you clocks ticking, and no one even stops to get our drink order. Terrible experience. We will never go back to this location. If you cant handle the amount of people in your establishment tell them you arent taking any tables at this time. Be professional.

Shamrocks is the only restaurant Ive ever been to that kills it in every category possible. Ive been here probably 100 times and id give them an A+ every time. Never had subpar service, never had a bad drink or a bad meal. Everything is phenomenal. Cool live music on Saturdays, friendly bartenders that remember your face and name. I lost an heirloom ring here a few weeks ago because I had a few too many. I woke up in the morning and drive straight there and like 4 different employees spent a lot of time helping me look for it. It made me feel a lot better about the loss that everyone there seemed like they actually gave a crap and wanted to help. The only bad thing about Shamrocks is that its so dang good that my boyfriend and I never want to try any different restaurant when we go out to eat :)

Just had the Guys Big Bite last night. This is a seriously great burger and prepared very well. You can taste every ingredient from the roast beef, bacon, bison (an add on) and the perfect spicy flavor from the pepper jack cheese. The bacon was cooked really well, not too crispy or too limp. I paid the $1.25 extra for the bison burger and it added another level to the experience. The roast beef is present but subtle and adds great texture. Ive been following a pretty strict diet and Im glad that I opted for this on my "cheat day". This will be one of my new favorite places to order from. Shamrocks has peppered fries which are also amazing. Get the dipping sauce with them. The staff are great and friendly, even ordering over the phone was a good experience.

Great food and fantastic service (even under pressure). I organized a big gathering of friends here on a Friday night. Called the previous Monday to get a reservation for 12 and updated to 16 on Weds. Even though the guy who took the call when I updated the number didnt write the new total down, the manager was able to accommodate our extra people on a busy Friday night. You could say thats something they have to do, but they did it with class rather than me having to make an issue of it. Otherwise as always great burgers and fries. Our server Lindsay was great, totally on the ball. Thanks, guys.

Burger was delicious, but would have been better if it was what I actually ordered. Asked for the stuffed Philly burger and got a burger stuffed with pepper jack cheese instead. Place was VERY busy. Server, Mikki, was extremely nice and efficient and did try to have the kitchen fix it. I told her it was fine and I would eat what I had. I didnt want to wait another 40 minutes for them to cook it. It took so long because the place was packed. But when I received my check I was still charged for the other burger, which cost more, and I noticed I was charged twice for a side of mayo.
