Ive been eating at Sacks since I was a college student at ASU and continue to enjoy their food now that I work near the Thomas & 3rd Ave location. Its nothing fancy, just always tasty and reasonably priced. For example, today I got their Dali sandwich (egg salad, bacon, lettuce, tomato & cream cheese on 12 grain), added avocado (99 cents) and a cup of yummy potato & spinach soup all for about $10.50. Thats a filling lunch for 10 bucks. The biggest negative at this location is the staff. They seem unhappy and dont make any attempt to be friendly. I always order to go, so its not a big enough problem for me to stop getting my Sacks-fix.

I used to eat at the Tempe location when I used to work nearby, but now I work by the Thomas Road location. There are a lot of similarities between the two. Lets start with the positives. They have a great iced tea selection that I really like and I hope they never get rid of because sometimes thats the main reason I go there. They also have great cookies and they come with every meal. Now lets talk about the negatives. The service is always unfriendly. The food is VERY hit or miss. There is also very little attention to detail so they sometimes get my order incorrect.

Service was horrible. Right away, I was greeted by an expressionless person at the cash register, who seemed annoyed when I made a slight change to my order. On top of that, she simple held out her hand when the total appeared on the register. Im not usually the guy to complain about staff having a lack of smiles, but this was almost depressing. Nothing special about the sandwiches, I just went for the location. The service makes me want to go elsewhere though.

This is a great sandwich shop here in Phoenix. I love the Improv because its like Thanksgiving any time. However, I ask for it without the stuffing because it has nuts in it and Im allergic. The Overture is also a great sandwich made of roast beef, tomatoes, lettuce, and a horeseradish sauce. Just know that this sandwich is cold. If youre looking for a hot sandwich, the Picasso rocks!

Got the Caesar salad to go. On a work day I came in early to beat the crowd. When I got my food, the lettuce was wilted. Im sure there are other good items on the menu, but Im a salad eater. Next time I will be sure to request that they not use the tips of the romaine lettuce. Plus this was a bit pricey so maybe there wont be a next time.

Excellent sandwich shop! Favorfull, healthy, friendly and quick service. They give you a delicious cookie with your sandwich, Yumm! Had the Remington (a special) but ask and they may make it for you. Chicken, avocado, tomato, lettuce, jack cheese, green chilies, and jalopiños. Absolutely delicious!

You must try the Symphony. Id heard for 12 years that the sandwiches at Sacks were good, but Id never been. Im so glad I finally had the opportunity to try them. Theyre unique. They deliver. Theyre fast and inexpensive. Theyve been a central Phoenix institution for this long for good reason.

The hot and cold special sandwiches of the day are the best! I recommend trying the specials rather than one of the usual ones off of their menu. Those sandwiches are fine, but the specials are amazing. I wish they had the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich every time I went in!

Theres nothing bad about Sacks, they just seem overly average to me. They have nice, fast service and decently tasting food, but the price you pay for what seems like something I could make at home isnt worth it to me.

Sandwiches are good! I always order one of the specials as they have been different every time and tasted great every time. Seating can be limited depending on how busy it is. You get a free cookie with your meal!

Reliable deli; one weve used for catering at work many times. Its not outstanding but they have some appetizing sandwich recipes/combinations. Pasta and salads and healthy options.
