I have been going to el jalapeño for 15 years .I have some dining experiences there I have never thought it was so bad I would never go back.. But for cinco de mayo I Did ..service was average for a busy night... food tasted like it was cooked prior and warm back to eat the queso was cold,when I went to pay bill for one plate of mixed fahitas which me and my wife shared two Margaritas and two shots of patron silver I paid 43 dollars I felt almost racially discriminated.I will never eat there again and will advise all my family and friends. Thanks from r ruining my cinco de Mayo el jalapeno

the service was excellent! the place was bustling for a Thursday evening. The music was a little loud but it was festive. I ordered a margarita, which cost $10.50 I had the chili relleno, my brother ordered nachos, my wife had the pollo loco. my chili relleno stuffed with ground beef was gloppy and bland. My brothers nachos were bland and lacked imagination. My wifes chicken was suppose to be half a chicken. It was more like half a chick. she did say the meat was moist and flavorful. all in all the whole experience was a let down. we wont be returning.

Decent place to go for authentic Mexican. Ive tried a number of items off of the menu, and while none of them have disappointed me, none of them have wowed me either. The salsa is very mild here, so if youre looking for some heat, this might not be the place for you. Ive heard rave reviews on the beef stew here but Ive yet to try it. Parking seems to be plentiful but due to the neighborhood, make sure you dont leave any valuables out in plain view. For the price, its a decent lunch if youre in the area and want some authentic Mexican.

I have been going here for many years. I recommend this place if you are looking for a Tex-Mex spot that is reasonably priced on the northeast side of town. The food is delicious and the drinks are good too. I love the Pozole, Menudo, Enchiladas, tacos...pretty much everything. :) It can get really packed at times but sometimes we get lucky and get there when the rush is over. They have a small cozy bar as well. The owner, staff and waitresses are very courteous & welcoming. We always leave full, happy and satisfied.

Service is spectacular, Authentic Mexican food, cooked to perfection, went on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Everything was wonderful For a friend & I. Decor, parking, music, drinks, and atmosphere. We both took a chance, as we had not seen each other in 2 years. El Jalapenos came thru with flying colors. Am sending others there from 2100 Memorial Senior community.

I have been there for long time .. I like the food and drinks but today I went with my family .. my 2 daughters and wife and they asked me for my id I gave them a foreign id and then they asked for my passport what kind of place ask for a passport? Im very mad I just walked away and never coming back

The prices in this place are ridiculous you would think you are in a 5 star restaurant. These people charge $15 dollars for 2 fajita tacos and a drink no rice no beans no sour cream no guacamole. There is nothing spectacular about this establishment. There waitresses are slow.

The food is good, HOWEVER, dont let your credit card leave your sight! I paid with a debit card and the next week, my card had a body double and used to buy $2000 worth of merchandise at Walmart and Sams!!
