Wasted time, wasted money. I walked in asked the lady how my the buffet was..her response was 11.99 for adults, 5.99 for kids under 12. I agreed because we heard good things like so many others. We were seated at some half broken dirty table right by the old radio with screeching speakers. What we hoped to be a southern style buffet was like a lunch line at school. People right on top of each other, reaching over your plate, out of the question not appealing at all. With our thoughts put aside we all 5 grab a plastic plate and stand in the long line for one of maybe 23 things. Not much to choose from we all get some items. Overcooked salt is my only description of everything. Seriously disgusting..It was so salty it made me gag. I asked the waitress and she laughed and said why do you think we all die of heart disease in the south. Appalled I eat, about the only thing I think halfway good was the mac n cheese. After we all eat some we get up and go to leave. The waitress is now charging me 12.99 per adult.I know Im new to the restaurant but still a local. I am not a completely rude person so I leave a nice tip. One girl walks up grabs a 5.00 from the pile ( I assume because she worked there ) and goes to the back. I pay for our meal..63.00 really what a nasty meal. I pay and we leave ( not the type to cause a scene ). I do however call, and say hello..how much are adult meals response ( 11.99 ) are you sure? ( yes ) in OK, then why did you charge me 12.99 she laughs then hangs up.. As Im driving home my phone rings. A lady said said hey you called, whats the problem. I stated the meal was over cooked, salty, nasty, but to treat someone like crap, and lie for 3.00 extra bucks was pretty low. ( especially when you are in charge of 300 person catering event ) in two months. Im not happy and still taste the saltiness in my mouth. You have lost my business due to the following reasons 1) way too salty..seriously consider this the most 2) your employees in front are disrespectful and liars 3) the truth isnt advertised correctly in regards to real soul food 4)your staff are gross and all need a serious Hospitality class Thanks for wasting my familys time and giving us high blood pressure for the night..I need to go vomit now. Hope this helps.

After hearing about all of the awards this place has won, my boyfriend and I were very excited to go here. We were so disappointed and appalled at the experience we had. We were seated in the back next to the buffet; it was loud, bright, cramped and steamy hot (literally steam from the kitchen). Not a welcoming environment. The buffet was 1/4 the size we expected and super cramped. People are on your heels as you inch forward in line. Some of the food looked home-cooked but in the "come to my uncle Leroys retirement barbecue at the church" kinda home-cooked. Other foods looked like they came out of a box or can and tasted like it too. We tried a variety of foods and were very underwhelmed at the quality. The so-called "best BBQ in Wilmington" was dry and the ONE "sauce" on the table was pure vinegar. The bins and serving utensils were dirty, the floor was dirty, everything was gross. We felt very uncomfortable and didnt want to eat too much in fear of getting food poisoning. The waitresses were friendly but definitely looked like drug-users. One waitress had her son (maybe 10 years old) carrying plates out from the kitchen! After being disgusted by the conditions and disappointed by the food, we absolutely died inside when we had to pay $30 for our 2 dinners.THIRTY DOLLARS!!! Who in their right mind would pay that much for that experience?! Who is writing these great reviews and voting for these awards?! I suppose the trashy slobs that filled the restaurant. We rarely go to buffets but we would have had a much better experience going to Golden Corral. I wish we could rewind time and skip ever going there. I feel greasy. Needless to say, we are never ever ever going back to Caseys. Like ever.

If I was asked to give a one word rating on this place it would be AMAZING. The wait staff was polite, friendly and the waitress that waited on us was very pleasant. I asked several questions and she was informative and didnt seem a bit put out by the questions. I ate more than what I should have, but country home cooking like this is not in abundance. There was homemade mac & cheese, hush puppies, cheesy biscuits, corn, green beans, potatoes, collards, spinach, clam strips, shrimp, BBQ, BBQ chicken, fried chicken, whiting fish, cabbage, roast beef, and catfish. I am most likely missing something from this list. Everything that I tried was absolutely delicious. There wasnt a salad bar but if you are looking for country home cooking then this place fits the bill. I wanted to rave about this place so I called the waitress over and told her how great our experience was. The owners nephew happened to be right there so she called him over. She told him to come over and meet her new "best friends". We told the young man of our experience and he told us that we just made his day because the owner, his uncle, had a heart attack the evening before and didnt leave his "secrets". He was basically just going from experience of working with his uncle. We told him that he was doing a great job. He actually sat down with us to talk a few minutes. That type of hospitality is almost unheard of today. It was great to have great food, amazing hospitality, and a nice casual atmosphere. P.S. The banana pudding is to die for!!!

Wow, if i would have just read the couples review from a month ago....she described it perfectly. We were in and out in 5 minutes. And like her, shocked when i go to the registe and had to cough up $32 for less than mediocre food. The "pulled pork" looked like boiled or steamed pork, and get to the table and as for bbq sauce and theres nothing but a bottle of vinegar with red pepper flakes in it. The majority of the food looked like bag food pre prepped at the state penetentary and tatsted like it also. The staff was nice but our waitress was 2 breaths away from cardiac arrest. It definitely was the worst dining experience Ive ever had and after tip, the quickest $40 i dropped on food. I dont know who is handing out awards on dining establishments in the area but they are probably on meth. Clearly someone on the restaurant staff is a photographer with some web design capabilities because it sure doesnt look anything like what it does in person. I hate to trash a business but this place needs to be shut down in my honest opinion. If there was a negative star, i would choose negative 5.

Best Buffet Bargain and Fantastic, Friendly Service! Dont let the look of the building or the random folding chairs and Church Shelter motif affect your opinion of the food or service! They had an "A" from the state for cleanliness. (Yes it is posted) $4 Kids Buffet $9 for Adults Service was priceless! Our Waitress was very attentive without being overbearing. She brought our group of ten 4 FRESH plates of Deep fried Catfish Nuggets and Shrimp. The breading was unbelievably crispy, yet soft. Ive never tasted anything like it. The Buffet itself had all the things you would imagine being served at a large family cookout. BBQ Porkchops Whole Deep fried Fish Mac-n-cheese Cheddar Biscuits Corn Bread Pigs Feet Chicken 4 different ways Greens Beans Potatoes And about 40 more items PLUS a Dessert Buffet and Ice Cream. My kids ate 2 plates, plus! Our waitress talked to us like distant cousins, but very polite! We will surely return if/when we come back to the area.
