I have been going here for over a year and for a great casual place to eat and have drinks what is not to like? The young staff is great and the food is always very well done. Portion size seems to be shrinking as of late so they may need to watch that (Remember those BIG salads?) But they pour great beer, drinks with actual booze in them) I know this is a mini-chain including several Sports page grills and the Brick house pizza place in Indianola. I have been to them all and they are all doing a pretty darn good job of it. When I compare these places to their big corporate competition like Applebees, and Chilis and to local competition like Okoboji grill and Legends what they lack in variety of menu and trendiness they make up for in good solid service and great food. Pella is my favorite location of all of them as I think the food is just a bit better than the rest of the chain. UPDATE! How fast things have changed. They lost their manager Brad a few months ago and it has been in a downward siral ever since. Too bad they have decided not to do a better job. Food is still decent but the recent loss of a few good bartenders and servers has taken them down several stars. This is what happens when you are not excited about running a business anymore. Too bad.

As youre driving out to 163 from town, if you see Applebees just keep on driving. Right over 163 the Sports Page is the place to eat. Even though they own a couple of restaurants now, it has a great local feel to it with having higher quality food than the bigger restaurant chains which serve American food. I actually really like the portion sizes, which leave me feeling full, but not stuffed. The last time we ate here was about a year ago when I worked in Pella. It was a place we frequented many weekends and still would if we lived there.

Food was good. Disappointed that my child was asked if she wanted a big kids meal when she ordered a kids meal. Of course she said yes. We were there on Tuesday, which the menu says is kids eat free day. Got the check and found out that didnt include the big kids meal - which ended up being almost $12! To top it off, drink wasnt included with the big kids meal like the menu said it was for a regular kids meal. This, a bill I was expecting to be about $15, ended up being closer to $30. This was our first and possibly last time eating here.

Had to wait 10-15 minuets to get asked what we wanted to drink than once ordered waited forever for our food (rarebit burger, irongrinder) and when it got there it was cold also my bun was not toasted so i asked our server "my bun was supposed to be toasted." Her reply "one second" she looks for someone than never returns to our table for 20 minuets, at this point we just pay and leave. In short do not waste your money ive got better food from mc donalds.

The food was absolutely amazing with really good prices considering the amount of food you get. Our waitress was the best waitresses I have had in along time. VERY knowledgeable about the menu and how things were prepared. The place was very clean as well.
