I am in love with Mokban! My first visit I had dinner with my friend Geoff and we both were curious to try the Korean alcohol drink soju. We ordered the Ginger Soju and the Grapefruit Soju. Delicious. The Crispy Shrimp are simply amazing! You can eat the entire shrimp, shell and all. I have tried three different main dishes, including the grilled eel. Everything is superb. But in addition to the food, there is something else quite amazing going on here. This space and the staff are generating some amazingly fantastic good karma. Every single person who greeted me at the door or waited on me has been absolutely incredibly nice. I have been so happy to be enveloped in Mokbans peaceful good karma. I am 66 yr old, about two to three times the age of the average diner here. Young Korean college-age boys and girls seem to comprise about 90% of the diners at Mokban. I urge you to visit. Try the soju (if you drink alcohol). And try anything on their menu. Everything on the menu appeals to me.

A group of us ate dinner here one night while we were in town for a conference. The decor was a little too "bare bones" or modern for me, but it was done tastefully. We sat at a large table near the back and the seats were comfortable. Service was good. Several of us planned to order mojitos by the glass and the server suggested carafes instead, to save us money. I also ordered a lemon slushie and it was very tasty and fun, kind of like a grown-up snow cone in a glass. For appetizers we ordered edamame and two kinds of dumplings, and they were all very tasty. For my main course I ordered the stonepot bibimbap with beef. The presentation was very pretty and appetizing (kind of like a giant bento box), and the different kimchis and other condiments were fun to try. If Im ever back in Providence, Ill definitely visit this place again.

My older sister and her boyfriend brought me there today with my two younger sisters. The service was great. We were seated right away and there werent that many people. The food was really delicious. I tried their dalsot bibimbap, pork bulgogi, ramen, and had a milk iced bubble tea. The waitresses checked up on us now and then. All were incredibly nice and didnt bother us too much. The interior was beautiful, with its hanging lights and decor. I definitely recommend going here. Next time I come again, Ill try their mapa tofu & pork or calamari and cheese tteokbokki. Also, want to try some patbingsu from the cute cafe they have.

I go here so often that I can actually say that I have had most of the menu at least twice now. The 나무 (tree) Tea House that is at the entrance of this establishment has amazing desserts and bubble tea I have had in Downtown, Providence. For those who want to try korean food, this is the place to go for a good start. The staff are very nice and know the menu very well. I have been coming here since 2012 and have loved it since. Ive brought many of my friends here and they too have loved going here.

Classy atmosphere and decor. At first I thought $13.95 was pricy for a bowl of bibimbap, but then: (1) To my pleasant surprise, it came with four small sides and a small bowl of soup, all served on a "mok ban" (wooden platter) true to their namesake. (2) Tips were already included in the price! So the list price was the final payment amount. Just like in Korea. Everything was delicious, though more salty and spicy than I would have liked. Great for the price!

Ive seen the owner yell at staff in front of the whole restaurant, I used to work here and left for another restaurant, and shortly after 3+ employees also quit and moved to the new restaurant im working at. Asked them why they just didnt go back to t-house where they wouldve had a guaranteed job, and they said it wasnt worth it to go back and work for them. Owners were very very cheap and charged extra for stuff that most restaurants give out for free.

The food is delicious but it doesnt make up for the excruciatingly painful service. The waitress forgot my drink and I had to wait a long time to get any waiter back to order it again. My boyfriend was served the wrong dish and again, we almost had to wave our arms to get someone to correct it. For once in my life I wanted to tip low but service is included in the price so I wasnt given the chance. Pictured: Spicy Squid and Pork Belly.

Creative dishes served in a traditional Korean style in which the main dish is served with four sides, rice, and a soup, all selected by the chef to complement the entree. I had the kimchi pork with tofu, It was amazing! Slightly tart grilled kimchi with sweet and spicy pork that was perfectly cooked. Good bar selections, Sapporo on tap. The price is good, the portions are large.

DenDen Trumps. Poorly understaffed, we didnt have the same server more than once. A friend had to wait an hour for his dish, despite the fact that the rest of our table received our meals, we were done by the time his finally came. Then, before leaving we had to clean our own table away and ask for our check, which we reluctantly paid for. Ill stick with DenDen on Benefit St.

We made our reservation over the phone and from that moment were beyond pleased!! The food was authentic and delicious. My boyfriend lived in Korea for a year and fell in love with the food and culture. This establishment brought back the happy memories and made a happy memory for the two of us. You have to try Mokban out!!!

This has become my favorite restaurant real fast. Meals are delicious and reasonably priced in my opinion. I love the atmosphere, but I love the option to sit at a table, at the bubble tea bar, or even take out. The location is in a convenient place in downtown Prov and the building looks classy. First choice to return.

I was there for the grand opening week, it was packed, but service was quick. They under promised and over delivered. Because of how packed they were, they quoted us over an hour to get our orders fulfilled, took only 20 mins at most. The shaved ice cream could have been better, less shaved ice, more ice cream.

What a pleasant experience! Service was thoughtful and prompt. Space was clean and attractive and the food was delicious and plentiful. We really also enjoyed some of the complimentary sides such as a roasted seaweed soup and a pickled cucumber. Would go again tomorrow if we were still in town!

Best in town. Didnt expect food quality was really good and price is reasonable. I ordered the chicken noodles and pork belly because pork belly is usually a single dish in Toronto but its a combo here. Anyway both taste exceptional. I am going back for seafood noodles. Service is awesome.

Loved my dinner here last night. Lovely spot for casual dining out on a weekend. The teriyaki dumplings were sweet and tasty, the stonepot bibimbap seemed authentic and my husbands Octopus&bulgogi korean dish was sooooo good and huge! Cant wait to come back and try some more.
