This place probably has the best North Indian food in the area with respect to value and quality of food, by far. Maybe even the best indian food considering all the other places are pretty lackluster in service and food quality esp for vegetarians. The ambience is also fairly nice and signals a more upscale and modern look without removing too much from the customers pocket. As for the service, I never found it to be over the top hospitality, but rather efficient, speedy, and polite. We arrived on a Sunday night when the restaurant itself was fairly empty. We ordered some Aloo Paratha, Naan (which comes with entree), and Onion Kulcha with 2 entrees - Bhindi and Smoked Eggplant. There are three things that were done well by the restaurant: the food arrived really fast, the portion sizes were pretty darn big for the price [not necessarily a positive for me since I didnt want to waste it and almost ended up eating too much], and the quality of bhindi and eggplant was of home cooked quality. The breads were soft, fairly thin, and well made, while the entrees were cooked well without the addition of unnecessary fatty ingredients such as ghee or butter. This goes the same for desert where we ordered the wheat halwa. The food and the restaurant overall, offer nothing extravagant, but does well in its simple list of offerings. The restaurant gives serious consideration to people with allergies and people who dont like garlic [yes there are those sort of people - cough :) ] I would give it 5 stars if it offered a little more variety in terms of vegetarian entrees or daals without garlic or the addition of plain yogurt to the menu, but then again there might be a minuscule number of customers for those items. Definitely will be my go to restaurant from here on. Looking forward to see if they maintain the standard. 4 people can dine comfortably for around $50 (not including tip), which is good value for this sort of food and service.

This place could have been better if owner would have learnt some customer skills. Service is too slow, samosas are very oily. Asked for complimentary papad, server said they are out. 5 minutes later he brings papad to a table full of "white-guys". They put eggs in Naan but if u ask for Roti u r charged the difference which is unfair since they dont have option of eggless naan. I saw their cooks using bare hands to make dough. The food is priced average although portions are less than normal. Also, their take-out boxes are very cheap quality. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Response to the owner: Apologies accepted but if your chef can see that oil sneaked into samosa and samosa does not look good, then why would you serve it? As far as papad are concerned, every time I;ve been to your place there is not more than 2-3 tables full, so Im not sure what orders are you reserving it for.My point was if you cannot give complimentary papad to a desi family, why give it to "American" family and vice-versa. Also for naan, I know Ours Place does not put an egg and I know another place in Dallas which puts egg but they dont charge difference for Roti and give Roti complimentary. And speaking of gloves, yes my mother never put it and thanks for reminding it but that was 10 years ago in India. You are working in America, so follow safety standards of the country where you are running your business. Your chefs are not my mother and I certainly did not pay money to my mother for food!

This is first time that I heard such strange thing from somebody in a restaurant. I reach Urban Tadka in Irving around 5:45 in the evening and ordered some appetizers. The person did not even finish with my order and asked what would I want for Main course and I said we do not want anything else as it was just 5:45pm. The person told me that if I do not order Main Course, he will not even serve appetizers. I asked how can he expect me to be having my dinner so early in the evening. And how did it even matter to him?? I was going to pay him. What if I had told him that I will be ordering main course later and then would have told him to get the check without ordering any main course. Would he not have charged me the bill as I did not have main course. I mean seriously... Is this how you treat your customers??? and "YES" I "HATED IT", thats my review

Horrible place and people!!! We went with our friends to this place and asked before entering are you guys open.. It was 9:30.. They close at 10.. They said yes we are open. When we called someone to take our order that guy was sooooo rude. He didnt even mention that the appetizer and Main course will be served together since they are closing in 30 min. He was all set to fight with us and Served us RAW food. And we just started eating and he kept the cheque on our table showing some sick attitude . THEIR RESTAURANT AND THEIR ATTITUDE SUCKS. LEARN THE BASIC ETHICS OF SERVING FOOD TO PEOPLE . TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. PATHETIC PLACE. THEY JUST WANTED TO MAKE MONEY BY LETTING US IN. TREAT CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT. THERE ARE MANY BETTER PLACES THAN THIS HORRIBLE PLACE IN IRVING..

This is my go to indian restaurant. Buffet has about 30 items and everything is good. I know very little about indian food, but I have enjoyed everything Ive tried. Especially the chicken tikka masala. Update: Ive eaten a lot more Indian foods since the first review and in dropping this down to 3 stars (3.5 if I could). Its alright and convenient to work so Ill definitely go back. I think the price has increased in the last year to $11 for the lunch buffet. Quality is usually good, but sometimes drops. Its also not as flavorful as other places. I suggest Bombay Sizzlers in Las Colinas (buffet) or Kumars in Coppell (South Indian, not a buffet) for better places.

Ive had multiple visits to the restaurant and there have been ups and downs. When its quiet, the restaurant is pretty good. The buffet cart is never empty, the food is well made, and the service is awesome. The chicken especially is good. On a busy day however, the chicken was never refilled, the entire room had 2-3 staff and the food quality wasnt that good. The curry was watery and tasted like colored tomato paste and the chicken wasnt refilled the entire time. I know they are a good place to eat from past experiences but they can definitely be a miss sometimes.

I thought to try this place for takeout, but my experience was very bad. I ordered Tandori Chicken and Tika Masala. Ten minutes after I already paid fro my food the waitress told me that they dont have Tandori Chicken. No big deal I ordered something else. When I got home I was very surprised that neither of my dishes had rice. I ended up paying more than $30 for two small take out dishes with no rice. I ended up cooking rice at home ..... very disappointing experience.

Great service, GREAT food, and a great place for a date night with the Mrs. We truly loved everything about this restaurant...and the food was mind-blowing-ly good. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the amount of food we received, and everything looked, smelled, and tasted fantastic. I hope this restaurant isnt going anywhere any time soon, because well definitely be returning for more.
