The food is excellent. Fresh tasting, made-to-order tasting. The Tea House in Plymouth used to rival this joint but the Tea House has taken a complete nose dive. Ill put it to you this way. I used to say to myself I can eat at yangze or I can eat at The Tea House. Theyre both close to each other. And I would usually pick tea house because its closer to me and Ive been going there longer simply because Ive known about it longer. Ive been going to tea house since I was a little tiny kid. I went there a couple of different times in recent years and there was literally food from the last person who ate off that plate all over it. There were lip stains and food stuck to the water glasses and the silverware. Ill eat at a hole in the wall all day long if the food is good. But this kind of thing was just remarkable and intolerable. I asked for a new plate three times in a row and all three times I got a dirty plate with food all over it and a dirty water cup. I just could not get a clean plate or a clean cup or even clean silverware! This is a place Ive been going my entire life! I used to love Tea House! When I was a kid I would like to go there on my birthday. My aunt is a realtor and apparently shes sold the house of the people who own the Tea House and their house was a complete pigsty. I used to deliver water softening salt so I would also have to enter the kitchen to fill their water softener. I was pretty disgusted by what I saw in that kitchen at the Tea House. You cant get clean Plate, cup or silverware. The kitchen is absolutely gross. And the owners apparently have a pigsty for a home. So armed with this information to yourself a big big favor and eat at yangze. Yangtze is worth your business.

Came for dim sum, left fat and happy! This place has it down well I think. The lines were very long, but only took 20 minutes to get through due to very fast turnover by the staff. Everything really clipped along. We were there for an hour and a half but could probably have been out sooner if the desert guy had come around sooner. I dont think we saw puddings for an hour aside from right when we got in the door. The staff were all friendly and inviting, however! The food itself was great! Not the widest range of offerings Ive seen, but there was no menu. They just come around with carts and trays of prepared food. No need to "sit near the kitchen" because they restock the carts without them returning to it. I wasnt a fan of the pork with red pepper, but Im pretty sure it was pork skin. For pork skin it was pretty good, and tender, but still not something I wanted much of. Everything else we ordered was great though! Fried items were crisp and inviting, steamed items were fluffy and delicious. My wife and I chose 10 dishes with just the two of us, finished everything but the pork skin. Pinapple buns I couldve probably ate 3 orders of myself, but we were trying for variety. The soup dumplings were my favorite steamed item. Compared to other dim sum Ive had the wrapper held together very well without being too chewy or too soggy. Perfect! The fried garlic shrimp balls were a flavor explosion as well. Sticky rice balls with chinese sausag were very flavorful as well. We definitely ate a bit too much, but even so the bill was not that painful. Definitely worth the trip!

Went on today, Dec 11 2016 for dim sum for the FIRST TIME EVER. First, When we got seated, they didnt even ask what my gf and I would like to drink. 5 mins in, I asked one of the lady if they had any orange soda. She was giving me an attitude the whole time. She said shell go get it but she never did. She walked passed at least 100 times. Very disappointed. Secondly, there was no menu to check for prices or what they have. It would be nice to have to see what they have and the prices since some ppl there, including us, doesnt know chinese. Third, if youre a meat lover, this place is not for you! All veggie and shrimp! Finally, im pretty suree the employees were marking random sizes for what we picked to eat so they can overcharge us. Thats why a menu would be nice to see what food is what size. Some dishes are small but are considered medium why medium were marked large. Smells fishy. Also, not a lot of food it seems. In conclusion, you money and your EXPERIENCE is better worth somewhere else.

After eating dim sum from so many other places I cant believe that Ive procrastinated so long before trying Yangtze. I drove from the other side of town and GUYS its worth it! The service is friendly and attentive. The interior is well decorated and clean. I felt welcomed and the staff were happy to explain the dishes. The food tastes great and authentic. And heres the big one: I didnt feel rushed. If youve ever gone to Mandarin Garden then you know what I mean. There youll get bum rushed by all the food carts within the first 5 minutes upon being seated and then theyll completely ignore your table after that. But at Yangtze, food carts stopped regularly at our table throughout our stay and this is why I felt welcomed. This place serves up the best dim sum experience in the Twin Cities hands down!

Our favorite Asian resteraunt is closed due to remodeling, so I have been searching for another in its place. While out of the ones I have tried, this was the best of them, I will say 2 things that I found may prevent me from eating here more often. I ordered S & S Chicken, Fried Rice and wontons. S & S Chicken was fantastic! Fried Rice was almost flavorless, there was a funky aftertaste, I have definitely had much, much better fried rice. Wontons were wontons. They did have a small amount of cream cheese compared to some other places. Werent bad, werent great. Average. However, the prices are high. . Will I be back? Maybe. If I am craving it really bad and there are no other options. The average wontons, flavorless rice and price will keep looking for something better.

There are few places in Minnesota that really capture the flavors of authentic Chinese Dim Sum, and this is one of them. I can confirm that tastes and textures track matching dishes I had when in China a few months ago. On the weekend you can get it, and theyll come around the tables offering different options from their carts. If its your first time, feel free to ask questions and try new things. It is a loud and busy environment that discourages you from having time to think and deliberate (since theyre also trying to serve many people), so a quick trick is to just go with what your eyes see and bar options based on your protein preference (i.e. Do you like shrimp, seafood, chicken, pork, etc.). A hefty meal for two would be about $50. I recommend it.

Came for dimsum on Sunday. Showed up just before 11 and only had to wait 15 minutes for a table for 4. Typical dimsum style, there are people pushing carts as well as waiters with trays. Hargow and shumai (the two dishes I consider "staples" of dimsum) were both good. Also liked their nuomiji and xiachangfeng. M ordered the chicken feet and egg tarts and thought both were good as well. They had mung bean, lotus, and red bean flavored sesame balls, which surprised me. Didnt like their xianshuijiao, but it wasnt bad. Also didnt like the BBQ pork in their steamed buns, didnt try the baked variety. Around $65 for four people. Small parking lot in front of the restaurant, but around the corner is a school parking lot which is empty on weekends.
