I lived in korea for 6 continuous years so I know what good korean food is. The place is very clean and bright, the total opposite compared to Dong Yang on Central Avenue. Now, admittedly Im writing this review about 3 months late and I dont remember what I ordered besides the squid rings so take this with a shakers worth of salt. The squid rings were quite good, but the amount was tiny and it was expensive. The selection was quite narrow or watered down with "fusion" as most Korean restaurants are. I had a list of things I may have wanted but I settled on something I was ok with (I think it was jeyookdupbap, 제육덮밥) It was pretty good, but not astounding. Overall, even if you disregard everything I said above it should be mentioned that this is the only korean restaurant I have not been to twice. Partly because the selection was particularly weak, and the price seemed high (Im admittedly quite cheap.) and despite its strengths and desire for korean food I have not been compelled to return. Go here ONCE. If youve never lived in Korea then go TWICE and make up your mind. If youve lived in Korea, just go ONCE.

I went there tonight for a family dinner and was disappointed in the small portions, lack of flavor, and poor service. If youve been to other Korean restaurants in Minnesota, then youve been exposed to how varied and tasty their side dishes can be. Also, the quality of the meat, and the deep flavors of each dish. The Gangnam Korean restaurant had two pieces of beef in their soup, their dumplings tasted soggy and had no texture, all their side dishes had the same seasoning of a bit of red chili powder and very plain, their soup was lacking and very light in flavor. Im not sure if they are trying to save money by providing less seasoning and portions, or if they just think customers dont know better so they just serve less then mediocre Korean cuisine. Makes me sad knowing that I wasted a empty stomach and high expectations on a meal that I could of cooked better and have. If you are hoping to try real Korean flavors then go somewhere else. This restaurant can be compared to a cheap $1 meal quality. The group of people at dinner with me all agreed with this assessment.

The food was not bad and the wait time to get the food was about 15 minutes. We ordered the pan fried dumplings, pork bulgogi, yookgejung, and dduk bolgi. Service however was horrible. We asked for coke and got water. We also asked for lemon in our water and it never came. We asked for more side dishes and we offered to pay extra and was declined. We also asked for an extra side of rice which would have been $1.50 and we were okay with that, but we were told that they would not give us extra rice because they were out. It was one excuse after another. We will never go here again and have advised none of our friends go here too due to the bad experience. Out of respect, I left tip but reluctantly as I didnt think it was deserved due to the poor service. I love Korean food and would have paid double to eat here. Its unfortunate that the service was just not up to par.

I love love Korean food. Ate it since I was little. Now, I was so excited that this place opened up so close to me. The first time I went in, it was empty except for two business men. I ordered japchae. It had absolutely no flavor. Then I asked for mandu. Same thing. Plus they were soggy. I decided I didnt want to come back but a few months later I was craving Korean food so bad I ended up back here. Completely empty this time. I ordered tteokbokki. It was a big portion but super spicy. I can handle spice- just not a lot. The rice cakes didnt taste fresh. Some were cracked. I couldnt finish my meal and ended up just eating rice. I dont think Ill be back..

DISAPPOINTING! I was excited to try out this place, because Im a huge fan of Korean food. The staff was okay, but the food and menu is not great. The prices are really overpriced, and you dont get what you paid for. I was really ticked off when the kimbaps were the size of a quarter, and lacked taste and fillings. If your looking to enjoy a Korean meal, drive 15 minutes more to Korean Restaurant on Oak st, the prices are awesome and food is fantastic. I only go there now, so good bye Gangnam!

I love the food here. Its different from other restaurants just from the fact that their food has a more natural flavor and its not oversalted compared to other korean restaurants Ive been to. I definitely recommend their soft tofu stew, dduk bokgi (the BEST in the Twin Cities) and pork bulgogi. Often times there is only one server but that doesnt keep it from ranking an A+ when it comes to friendliness and level of service. The restaurant also has a very comforting and homely atmosphere.

What tasty meal! The server helped us pick items from the menu because we were relatively new to Korean food. We had the stir fried calamari, it was so good and flavorful. It was also really fun to try all the pickles and kimchi that came as accompaniments.

Been here twice now and each time was amazing. The dolsot bibimbap is delicious and comes with a plethora of "side dishes" including some sort of spicy zuchini & kimchi. The actual restaurant itself is really cute & the service is very good.

I love this restaurant, its my favorite. I go multiple times a month. My absolute favorite dish there is the beef bulgogi. The waitresses are really nice, too. I recommend this restaurant if youre looking to try Korean food.

Service is great. I really enjoyed my time and the food. The side dishes were great and the kimchi is great! Really savory. The main entrees could use a bit more flavoring but overall I liked my dine in experience.

Great service, clean but food was either bland or too strong of 1 flavor. I couldnt eat more than 1 bite of it. Not worth the price. Ive tried Korean food elsewhere and liked it, but not here. Very disappointed.

Quality of food, not the best. Service could have been better. If you have never had Korean food, this will probably be good. Otherwise, save your money. Portion size, not worth it.

Went for lunch, took a little more time than expected to get our food but it was worth the wait. I had the Dolsot Bibimbap which was fantastic with the spicy red pepper sauce.

Weve been to many Korean restaurants before, this one is a disappointment. We ordered 3 dishes and were disappointed by the quality. Service was ok. Will not return again.

Service was warm and accommodating. I had spicy chicken bulgogi and sweet potato tempura: both were delicious and banchan was great.

Really good Korean food... Have a friend who goes to Korea Town in LA... She thinks this is the best here in Twin Cities area
