I love eating here or ordering food to-go. The restaurant itself is cute with modern decor and jazz music. Its very refreshing to come into a Vietnamese restaurant that doesnt look like the other typical pho restaurants in Houston. Theyve been mentioned in the Houston Press & 29-95 before. Its easy to miss since theyre located in a small shopping center thats shared with a tattoo shop, a barbershop, a church, and a doughnut shop. The ladies behind the counter are very polite and nice. Its definitely family-run. I can only assume that its one of their grandmas walking around the restaurant. My recommendations: chicken-basil wings, pho.

Ba Mein Bistro is the best Vietnamese food on the Northside of Houston in the Champions area. It is small, beautiful, and family owned and operated with delicious and affordable favorites for Houston natives including Pho and the Bun sandwiches and fried and steamed spring rolls. Great vegetarian and beverage options as well as their signature macaroons for dessert. Ive been here with family and children and colleagues and just a night out. Its a great place to eat or have a drink anytime to visit and relax inside or out on the patio. I cannot say enough good about the Ba Mein Bistro and always come back and recommend.

Done right ! Ive been to so many Vietnamese restaurants and they are my absolute favorite. I just wish they could stay open later. For those who like to cut down on meat and wish for something refreshing, I recommend the tofu vermicelli bowl WiTH the fish sauce (does not come with the fish sauce but normal vermicelli does so just ask) Amazing! Everything there is delicious not like some restaurants who just get it right on a couple of popular dishes.

Tried it for the first time today. I ordered the combo pho, grilled pork banh mi and a Thai tea. It was very fresh and amazingly delicious. Service is not sit down and be waited on. You order your food and help yourself to silverware, napkins and beverage refill. This concept works well as you start to appreciate the slower pace and soft music in the background. Definitely competed with all the similar establishments on Bellaire. Give it a try !

Such a great place! After driving by for what seems like forever, I finally decided to stop by. Best decision Ive made by far. The surrounding businesses are a tad run down, but dont let that intimidate you. Inside, the decor and dish ware immediately make you feel like youre in a whole different atmosphere. The environment felt as if the bistro belonged in the heart of downtown Houston. Plus the food was amazing. Ill definitely be back!

I was with my Best Friends/Bro and his family and we decided to try a random(to us) Banh Mi place and this was one that caught our eye by the name! Food was excellent and timing was perfect! Majority of us had the Grilled Pork Banh Mi and loved it! My nephew and I ended up having a second one too! We will be back and have declared that when I come over to visit this will most likely be dinner if we are eating out :D!!

This is one of the best things about this part of the city. The food is amazing, the restaurant is quaint and everyone there is polite. Do not let the surrounding shopping center fool you. This place is great. I usually do take-out orders, but have dined in a few times. All experiences have been great. Cant go wrong with the beef fried rice, vermicelli bowls or spring rolls. The menu is also very reasonably priced.

Ba Mien Bistro is my favorite Vietnamese Restaurant. The food is excellent by far. From their appetizers to the main dishes, all is bursting with delicious flavors which enhances my adventurous palate wanting more. Their cuisine is healthy and prices are reasonable. The ambiance and services are impressive. I and my sister were taken away with the decor. Simple elegance. Plove

Anne Bailey. Its a family owned restaurant and the family really cares about your dining experience. Their soups are great! We also love the fresh spring rolls. They do not have a liquor license so you can bring in your own bottle of wine. They will open it free of charge and even provide wine glasses for you. It has become a weekly habit for us and for several of our friends.

They have good food and great service! The family that works there is always very kind and polite. Nice ambiance(unexpected for the location), but expect around $8-14 per person. Its a little towards the high end for this area, but I like the food so I still go. I wish they were open on Sundays and that they had inexpensive specials so I took off one star, but overall I love it!

Loved the food awesome beef soup , loved the Vermicelli, very fresh veggies and herbs, Also love the egg rolls, and dont forget about one of those tasty desserts on the way out. All in all a very great experience, staff shows that they care and are very helpful. Location is a little out of place for such a great place but it adds character to it, a gem in the rough.

One of my wife and Id favorite places to eat. We have tried just about everything here and its always good with great customer service. Our favorites are the chicken pho, shaking beef vermicelli bowl, grilled beef vermicelli bowl, pad Thai, chili basil wings, Banh Mi pork or beef sandwich, egg rolls, and the flavored teas! Very quaint inside as well with nice decor.

The place was certainly busy. There was a problem with my food in that I asked if an ingredient was in what I ordered, they placed it in front of me and someone came up and said, wait its in there. So they made me something much cheaper that hopefully was okay, not really what I wanted. Not really into having 3/4 of my meal being lettuce if I am not eating salad.

Very nice casual atmosphere. The food all looked fresh and delicious. I had the spicy pho and the bra was very aromatic look fresh and delicious. I had the spicy pho and the broth was very aromatic and flavorful. It came with cilantro cabbage and bean sprouts. The prices were very reasonable, as well. I look forward to trying more menu items.

While not as common as Mexican/Tex-Mex, the Houston area has plenty of Vietnamese cafes. I have visited many, and I think Ba Mien is by far the best. The pho ga is sublime, the spring rolls with peanut sauce are quite tasty, and the Bahn Mi is exceptional. If you like Vietnamese cuisine you have to visit this place.

Such friendly service, great atmosphere, reasonable prices for the quality of food. Food is always fresh, clean, aesthetic, and filling! Such a great place to get some authentic Vietnamese food. Theyve extended their menu over the years, and its so good. :) highly recommend! Ive been coming here for 4+ years.

Delicious! Their basil-chili wings are awesome, very crispy yet tender and juicy with plenty of flavor. The spring rolls are just right (not too much noodle, not too much lettuce.) The pho is the best Ive had so far! So much flavor. Highly recommended. Its a little place, so watch closely you might miss it.

I ordered a beef dish special for lunch at a price of $10, but it had little beef. It was mostly a small bowl of rice and vegetables. It was good, but not worth going out of the way for. The place seemed nice otherwise. I sampled the spring roll, which seemed to be worth more for the price paid.
