I havent had much previous experience with indian food, but Ive been here 6-7 times now and have always had a great experience. I usually get the thalis plate, which comes with your choice of 3 different meat or veggie dishes (they usually have about 5 options of each to pick from), naan (amazing bread), very good white rice, a few pickled veggies, some fresh chopped veggies and your choice of 2 different desserts (one is like a small donut-like cake, I forgot the name. I go with Kheer, which is the delicious rice pudding). The thalis plate is $8 if you pick only veggie options or $10 if you go with one or more of the meat dishes. Ive also tried the samosas appetizer, which are kinda like potstickers but not fried, and they come with a green sauce and a brown sauce. The green sauce is pretty good and the brown sauce is amazing. $3. You order the food at the counter and they bring it to you when it is ready. So no waitresses, but they have a tip jar at the register, if you feel inclined. I usually just grab a cup for water at the counter (free, of course) but you can also get a fountain drink (coke products) or a few different pop/juice options from a fridge they have. Decorations are a little different than what Im used to, but I think theyre cool. Bright colors. They have one-sided booth tables on one wall and the rest of the seating is tables and chairs for four. I come with friends from work, and when there are more than 4 of us, we dont have any issues pulling two tables together. If youve never tried indian food before, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

I cannot speak for the food because I did not get a chance to order due to the horrendous service this place offers. I walked in for lunch and it was not really busy. It was my first time so I stood to the side to view the menu which was very hard to read. Upon deciding I went in line behind a couple. no was was in the front so we waited as the couple in front of me chatted with each other, also waiting to be served. Someone walked out from the back but she did not walk up to the cash register. Instead she decided to twiddle her thumbs and organize whatever she was touching. After watching this for a bit I got annoyed and walked up to the glass case along the counter and said "Excuse me" at least 3 times before she looked up. I asked if she was going to take our order and she snapped back with "well I didnt know you were ready because you were talking." First of all I didnt say a word up until that point and the couple in front of me were only talking to each other while hey waited for some service. I was appalled that the woman behind the counter acted like that and did not even bother to ask of they were ready to order when she had walked out front. I immediately left this place. Any place that treats customers like this is a business I would never provide my business to. They really need to reevaluate their poor and disrespectful customer service because not many people will stand for it.

Food is good North Indian Punjabi food, but there are some issues with inconsistency, and not all menu items are consistently available. Specifically, they almost never have "makki roti & saag." And the last time I ordered it there, they forgot about the order, and when I mentioned it to them, they brought it burnt. I imagine they hurried too quickly when they realized their mistake. They often run out of specific ingredients over the course of the day; for example, a few weeks ago, I went in the evening and found that they used all the chana/chole, so no dishes containing chickpeas could be ordered. Best Lamb Biryani in Town! But, everything considered, it is one of the best Indian options in SE Michigan. The lamb biryani is especially good. Other restaurants in the area serve far inferior biryani by comparison. For example, Rangoli in Auburn Hills (which won best Indian several times in Hour Detroit) always serves biryani with tough meat. And Punjabi Sweets in Troy makes good biryani, but their lamb meat is bone-in chops, which makes eating it more troublesome. But Phulkaris lamb biryani is always tender, never has bones, and is consistently delicious, with properly-cooked rice.

Went there to eat in - food quantity was so little as if someone was serving for completing formalities. First one of the sweet dishes was not available, then once food was served, we were told that, the second sweet dish (kheer) was also not available. and we were served rasgullas instead. They turned out to be hard and dry. When we complained, the lady said they were dried because of being kept in the refrigerator too long. When i asked for milk cake instead, she said that milk cake costs more than rasgullas so she will give it this time, but not in the future ( i wonder since we never asked for rasgullas in the first place). When we finally got the milk cake, she literally slammed the plate in front of me and said -"youre all set" as if we were bothering her and she was getting "rid" of us. Did not feel welcome at all - they certainly dont know how to serve and certainly dont know how to please people. Actually people in Punjab are very welcoming - but this certainly gives a wrong impression of our culture. (seems like we are being faked into believe we are like this) I will definitely never come here again.

First of all if you are running a business make sure your customers feels comfortable at your place. Last time i went to dine in. It was so freaking cold outside and inside heat was probabaly at 60 so it was cold sitting in. Then i gave order of two things at counter and paid it. Waited 40mins and one item arrived. All other customers after us got served and we still waiting for our food. Another 15mins then i asked the guy where is our food. And looked like he forgot our order completly. We sat there about one hr and then got served. Other customers left and most of the tables full of trash and empties. And no one came to clean those tables during the 1hr we sat there. Poor customer service. Very limited menu. And tandoori chicken they have is not tandori chicken it just a baked regular chicken. No falvor or spices at all. I will never go there again.

I get a to-go carton from the buffet here about once a month. Runs about $8 and it always tastes great. The place has zero decor, Ive never eaten in. The samosa are perfect, murgh makhani was silky, great. Biryani was good. The gobi paneer had huge chunks of paneer, the chana / chole was so soft, perfect. The kadhi was SOOO spicy. Too much for me and I can usually take it. There are usually gulab jamuns or jelebi for dessert, if you can find the room in your carton! Cartons of to-go are sold by weight, sit down buffet is $7.95 and my carton usually is around 8.50 They make their own namkeen and sev, etc. I got a half pound to go for snacking. They could really use a scrub down and a refresh of decor but Im not here for the appearance!

Came across this place on a recent Saturday night. Place was full of patrons and many stopping in for pickup orders. Service was fast. Lady at register was fine, maybe could have explained more since it was obvious we were new to the place. Someone was cleaning up tables promptly after people left. We tried an array of food and loved it all. Not "Americanized" so spice was good even for mild, kids couldnt take the heat but us adults loved it all. Only negative was Masala Chai, didnt taste good at all so threw it out. I would differently make the long trip again just to eat here.
