Craving some curry and biryani I looked around for a restaurant near by that would serve me. Coming across this little sit in diner I was so happy to find it was very close by where I live. The real surprise was coming in and getting treated in a very welcoming manner by both staff and owner, walking in to a very light scent nothing too powerful, nice seating, and relaxing music followed by a buffet that took my breath away! Not only was this a very affordable eatery but the food felt like I was back at my Nanas kitchen eating all of the amazing meals, after speaking with the chef I understood hes been a cook for decades, every bite I took was nostalgic and this was just the buffet. We later got treated to a very full plate of biryani with a sweet mango lassie! For anyone craving some authentic Indian food with the real kick of the spices that comes with it I definitely recommend little India!

We went there after having seen yelp rating, but disappointed with taste. Biryani is far from standard. Its sticky unlike the dry ones you get at the Paradise (Troy) etc. My chicken tikka biryani seemed as if someone had cooked plain rice separately and chicken pieces separately and then tossed them all in together. Chicken vindaloo was far from original taste. The gravy was saltless and fluidy. Lassi was basically watery yogurt. Compare that vs the one you get anywhere else...I mean, any other Indian restaurant. One of the waiters was clueless about his responsibilities. Turnaround time for orders placed (4 of us) was a bit too long - 30mins. 1 star for the amazing peshawari naan - thats something innovative and good, 1.5 star for the ambience and cute lady serving us. These guys really need to work hard to step up their game....Given the location and competition.

We just found Little India and were treated to a wonderful dining experience. We have tried most every Indian restaurant down in the Troy area, and were very happy to find not just an option in Shelby Township - but the best Indian restaurant around!!! The food is all very fresh and the owner came out to check on us and his entire staff was VERY pleasant! The flavors were all rich...every dish was prepared carefully and exactly how we ordered them. The décor was very nice and tasteful and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. We went to dinner, ordered appetizers, several naan breads, a large entrée and several side dishes of vegetables and the whole thing came to $40. so, not only was the food BETTER, but the price was better, too! We will go back for the buffet...and we will go back soon.

Wonderful new addition to the food scene in Macomb County. During the day, a full, inexpensive buffet with 10-12 choices that changes daily. Features both vegetarian and non-vegetarian entrees along with rice, naan, sauces, sides and dessert. Best deal in town! If buffet style isnt your thing or you are visiting at dinner time, you order off the menu which is loaded with traditional Indian fare done really well. Tender, succulent chicken tikka is my current favorite, served sizzling on a bed of vegetables with a basket of hot naan fresh from the oven. The staff is attentive and earnest. My waiter was patient and helpful with deciding on levels of spice and menu options. I hope this restaurant succeeds!

This place is great! I went to the Sunday buffet and thankfully, there were plenty of vegetarian options: saag paneer, chana masala, a mushroom dish, and something similar to aloo matar. There was also hot and sour soup (unusual), vegetable pakora, and an assortment of rice dishes and chutneys. The two desserts were rice pudding and something else I forget the name of. I also got a mango lassi. The service was great. All the food was great. There were real flowers on the tables. They play upbeat Indian style music. The only thing that I would improve on is the food being hotter, but its not cold or anything. Just not as hot as I like it. Ill definitely be coming here more.

Just finished eating my first meal here, and cant even wait to post this rave review. I have eaten at dozens of Indian restaurants, and this one shows attention to detail that makes all of the difference. Home made chutneys. Fresh ingredients. If you are tired of run of the mill, bare bones representation of this exquisite cuisine, look no further. I would pay a premium for this quality, but, against all odds, this is also one of the most affordable meals I have eaten out in months.

Mukim and his staff have something very special going on ! First the reception was excellent, the food is terrific and well presented. The restaurant is very clean and the general feel of the place is calming and welcoming. Mukim the owner is a very likeable and personable gentleman and made me feel very welcome. Though I live down state, I will be back to little India. A very special place indeed. Cant wait to bring my wife here. Mukim and staff, please keep up the good work.!!!

We were able to pull off a surprise luncheon birthday party, planned from 5000 miles away, with the help of Mukim and his stellar staff! Banquet room for 50, delicious and fresh buffet (we were even able to request some of my moms favorites be served that day), and exceptional customer service! You dont have to drive all the way to Rochester or Farmington for a delicious, authentic, and flavorful Indian buffet - give Little India a try and youll be hooked! THANKS AGAIN!

This was the BEST Indian food I have ever had!! I have been to many restaurants, in Michigan, that specialize in Indian Cuisine and this place is #1!! Their buffet is also very well put together with many of the top dishes on the menu at a reasonable price including dessert and coffee. The owner and staff are very kind and friendly. They make sure you never go without. Definitely a recommended place for lunch or dinner! Keep up with the good work and great food!

Food was absolutely delicious! A nice variety of things on the buffet and we tried them all! Everything had great flavor, smells, and spices. We were brought fresh bread with our meals as well, which was perfect for scooping the delicious sauces from the food. Staff was super friendly and helpful, this was our first time here and he led us down the line of the buffet explaining each dish, which was very much appreciated.
