Dont believe the hype. This place sucks. This is another captive audience dump that survives for the same principle that so many restaurants like it survive. It is convenient, and it has a large base of regular customers who keep coming back no matter how bad the place gets. Many of these are folks who had their first beer there. Danvers and Peabody are full of restaurants that are completely unremarkable, cookie-cutter chain places. Sylvan Street stands out for how bad it is, and how long it has survived in spite of how bad it is. If you are in the area and want American comfort food - try one of the many other places in the area (like Joes or the 99 or the Outback Steak House). Skip this place.

Sylvan St. Grille falls into the "We cant think of/afford anything else" category. The food is good but nothing is spectacular that Ive had there. The service has always been good with no complaints. They tend to change their menu every now and then and they always seem to get rid of the best things. The bar is always full with a bunch of young locals that see to think they own the place. The prices are pretty reasonable. The things that this place has going for it is the nice back patio with outdoor seating during the warmer months and the desserts are excellent.

Wife and I were very frequent visitors..we really enjoyed it there..havent been in about 6 months..and honestly may be longer before we return...stale hard bread...salad looked and tasted as if been left in refrigerator for a week..welted..dry...apps overcooked..then find they went way up on the amount of points and down on reward points..guessing have new manager,quality gone done considerably. .never do these surveys, but I would love for SSG to be back to its former self..

Sat at the bar, Mike approached me right away. He started small conversation which was very welcoming. Ordered bunless burger with fries, medium burger. I actually recieved a great dish, the burger was one of the best ive gad in the surrounding area. I asked for medium and got a true medium burger. This visit makes up for my last not so satisfing visit. Ill be back on a tuesday again.

French fries were great! We ordered bacon cheeseburgers with American cheese and the cheese was like that rubbery cheese. For the price, I believe real cheese should be used. We went at lunch time and the bar was more busy than the restaurant part. Nice looking atmosphere. Waitress never came over to ask how our meal was or see if we needed refills or anything.

Honestly if all I ever ordered here was the potachoes this place would get 5 stars but I havent always enjoyed the other food Ive ordered compared to the pure perfection of the potachoes. I would pay so much money to learn the magic they use on their cheese.

I used to go here as a kid (when they used to give balloons out to the youngins!) and went back recently for dinner and drinks. Its a nice place to casually dine - big portions, food is tasty, but this is a very typical "pub/restaurant" atmosphere.

Waitress was courteous and attentive; appetizer was delicious but the chicken pot pie I ordered was so salty I couldnt eat it. Replacement burger was good and they did not charge me for the pot pie.
