So, I normally go to Ashoka on big beaver and Rochester Rd, but I live so far I hate the far drive, so I figured I would take a shot at this place. I was greeted nice by the woman manager who mentioned to me that the restaurant has great online reviews, so I was excited, but very disappointed!! The waitress brought us water which is all we drank with no ice, no straws, and I agree with JAY The Naan was horrible and wasn’t included with the entrée as most other places include it! I also agree with the other poster as the environment is dirty and dingy! The whole resturant is on a 80 degree crooked slope! The service was horrible the lady couldn’t speak English and didn’t explain any of the dishes. My mother ordered no spice and mild, yet it was so hot it was inedible, and neither the waitress, nor the manager offered to recook or give her something else. The waitress then added a 15% gratuity for $7.50 automatically to our bill and even included the 15% with taxes which was illegal for a party of 2! But we got that straightened out, but the audacity of being shady. I don’t know what these people are thinking when they give 5 stars it must be the owners and friends rating the reviews! This place is horrible, bad service, overpriced, gross food!! The naan wasn’t even oven baked it was diced greasy off a flat grill! Save your money and good evening out!! Go to Ashokas its way better!!

It was a horrible experience. All of the food we ordered was horrible no flavor, dry, tasteless. My biggest disappointment was the Naan. They usually dont use the Tandoori Oven to bake the naan. Instead they use pan. I never had naan made with pan. The paratha was same as the naan they gave us. I didnt noticed the diffrent between the naan n paratha. Chicken jalfrize was dry tasteless no flavore at all. Vindaloo was pretty much same, butter chicken sucks there. All together was the most horrible experience I have ever had and Im not going back. One thing I will give credit to is theyre Somosas A1. Only thing we have enjoyed out all of that. Dont order NAAN.

The ambiance was good with the Bollywood old music and all. I ordered a Biryani, if you are a fan of Biryani never ever try it out at this place. I hope to go back there soon and try other dishes, I heard that they bread and curries are yummier than the south Indian dishes. I got a experience from here, If you go to a north Indian restaurant try only the north Indian dishes unless some one recommends that the taste of the other dishes are good. The service was really good though and the quantity would suffice one person (if you are a heavy eater)

Husband and wife were sitting alone in the restaurant with curtains drawn. I ordered vegetarian thali. The Dal was like water. They had cheap subzis-lettuce in one spot-half cooked and carrots in another. 6-7 noodles in another slot. Totally blend. No achar or hari mirch offered. Both went back in kitchen after serving the thali. I could barely eat roti and some rice and then left. No wonder there was no traffic at prime lunch time-noon. Worst Thali lunch I ever ate. The quality has significantly gone down since the father owned the restaurant.

What a huge surprise!! We were in the mood for Indian food and we are new to the area...so we 'Googled' Indian and New Delhi popped up. The reviews were great, so we headed out. Just a little unassuming place but Wham!! The food was awesome!! I'm talking 'lick your plate clean', awesome!! And the server Devari, was super nice and friendly, not to mention beautiful!! My buddies and I will definitely coming back.

The food was really tasty and authentic. We ordered malai kofta, chicken tikka, dal along with naan (bread). The malai kofta gravy was really good and chicken tikka was made as it should be which is quite rare among the Indian restaurants in the locality. We also ordered masala chai and I must say it will definitely take you back home. That one extra star for masala chai.

Horrible food...went with family yesterday. Found yucky hair in Mattar Paneer...totally disgusting. The owner ended up justifying preparation and blaming us for putting our hair in there. This place seriously needs a visit from county food inspector to save prospective visitors. This place is seriously giving bad name to Indian cuisine in this area. Avoid at all cost.

I really dont know why some slammed them in the reviews, maybe its because they ate in instead of take-out...? Anyway, the takeout experience I had was really nice. The food was good and has the typical things youd want from an Indian takeaway. The Tika Masala wasnt a slop of goo (some places are), and was flavored nicely. The Naan was good. The Samosas are good.

We had the chicken tikka masala and the veggie korma. The flavors were very good, but all of the veggies in the korma were frozen from a bag. They charged us nearly $3.oo more for 2 cups of rice. I enjoyed the balance of spices and bright flavors, but I would not go back. I cannot see spending $30.00 for two people on a vegetarian dish and a chicken dish.

I was in the area and googled Indian restaurant. Ordered Butter Chicken and Lamb Biriyani. When I picked up the food, I was surprised with the price! Food and quantity was average, but the price was extremely high, especially when there are a number of Indian resturant around the area that are fairly priced..try some where else!

Good food. I come here coz the spice levels r a bit low unless u insist. I get good home like chapattis. The curry is not heavy or artificial looking like most of the other restaurants. The north Indian dishes are justified. Only thing i dont like is the location. Its a bit hard to find but i would definitely plan to come here.

Catered for American crowd more than Indian. Less spicy food. I went there for a lunch buffet on an odd day with 5 of my mexican coworkers. They loved the fresh food. The number of items were not very many but were perfect for a workday lunch. They served fresh Naan, which was great!

Went with a group of 15 on a quiet Tuesday night. The food was absolutely excellent, but service was quite slow. From walk in to walk out, we were there over three hours. Typical of a large group ordering, but as the only ones in the restaurant I would have liked to move faster.

Food was ok. Ordered pakoras which were not fully cooked. Nothing special about other food too. The WORST part of my visit- shoe marks on my babys high chair. They didnt care to clean up the chair before giving us. I cleaned it up myself. But ended up not putting my child in it.

Great selection of tasty naan! My chicken korma was delicious, and my coworker loved his lamb vindaloo. 3 choices of spice levels so you can get it how you want it. Well come back if we get back to detroit.

Worst food, worst management. They dont have any staff working outside. I think Chef himself cook the food, serve the food and clean the utensils. Such a worst Indian restaurant I ever visited in my life.

Food is nicely spiced. Love the buffet, especially the chicken Korma and potato dish. The naan bread is brought hot and fresh to your table. Some changes are made every day so no 2 visits are identical.
