We went to Bar Louies this evening. We were willing to give the Wheaton location a final chance. Unfortunately, they failed miserably. The restaurant was very empty and had wet towels on the floor near the bar sink with lots of trash in the sink. We waited a long time for a server to come to our booth. We ordered the tortilla soup and the chicken tacos. The soup was cold on one side of the bowl and hot on the other. There were no tortilla strips in the soup. The avocado was brown and unappetizing. We asked for a new serving of avocado which never came. The soup had an odd taste. The chicken tacos were completely inedible. The chicken was so cold that the butter on the top was still hard and never melted. The chicken had a strange taste. We asked the server if the tortillas were corn or flour and he did not know. We could not continue to eat any of the chicken. The manager offered to try to fix the problem, but our experience with the food is that, mostly, it is TERRIBLE, and we did not want to experience another failed plate. We tend to land at Bar Louies on Sunday nights when the regular staff is not in the kitchen. But you would think that the night/weekend staff would be trained by now. When we first started to dine at Bar Louies, there was a robust evening crowd on Sunday nights. But the restaurant was hauntingly empty and dirty. We gave this location many, many chances. Each time, the food was worse than the time before. It had great potential. But we will not be returning to this or to any other location. This saddens us since there are few good restaurants in the Wheaton, MD area.

I came in on the evening of January 15, 2017 and was completely dissatisfied by the service I received, my food did not come out at all and I was there for One Hour. This is a very late review only because I went in again recently with my friends and received an attitude from a bartender and I can only find the receipt from January right now. In January my server/bartender name Jose who is nice person but gave poor service experience. I ordered two drinks and also ordered the Mac n Cheese plate. Two large girls came up and made an order of 2 Mac n Cheese plate and a burger. Those girls went back to there seat and about 20 minutes later one of the bartenders told Jose hey the girls that made the Mac n Cheese and burger got there order already. She said it right in front of me and I looked at Jose. After 30 mins went by I told him that I still did not receive my food and he said sorry I will check back in the kitchen and let them know. He did not go to the kitchen to check my food because I saw him behind the bar the whole time, so then an hours goes by and I told him in a calm manner with no attitude that my food still did not come out. He lied to me and said the kitchen is busy. So I paid for my drinks and also gave him $5 tip which I should not have left him but I am a nice person. All I can do is leave a bad review and they could have taken off one drink off my tab. Even the people sitting next to me ordered there food and also ordered a desert afterwards and finished everything before I left. The place was not full of customer and was half empty. This experience was very unacceptable.

I really loved this place when it opened. Its too tiring to actually explain just what has gone wrong over the last several months where I have brought so many of my friends, but I can itemize it. 4x Burgers undercooked - 3 times these burgers were served raw 7x Service took longer than 40 minutes after order to deliver food 4x Bourbon burgers were served incorrectly - 1 time the onion straws were brought out 10 minutes later on a separate plate - 2 times the burgers were literally cold to the touch - 3 times the cream cheese was still an unmelted block under the top bun Service usually takes drinks and then doesnt bring them out for about 20 minutes (35 minutes tonight). This time, one of our friends got his appetizer and drink 30 minutes before we were served our drinks. Food continued to trickle out for about 20 more minutes after the drinks came, before it all seemed to arrive at once (except for one friends). We were told two different things: the first was that we were just ordering appetizers, while the second was told to other people that entrees were being ordered as well. For this reason, 3 people (8 total) missed out on an entree. It is an hour and a half later and one of just finished getting a first refill for a soda. I love the service staff; I really do. Please do something about the kitchen. This place is impossibly bad with management or something, because the servers are terrified about the fact that they know they cant offer any more than the lowest tier service.

The food was okay and the servers were great. Unfortunately the manager is not very professional. I was there for one of the preopening events with some friends and we had dinner which was not bad, had great service. Went to the bar afterward to have a drink. We had been told by the bartenders that the martinis were on special till 9pm. We verified this with the bartender that was serving us and he said yes. When he brought our drinks we said we would pay as we werent planning on having another drink. Then when he brought us the bill we were told we had to pay full price. The manager then came over and proceeded to rake us over the coals saying we werent entitled to the special. We were so embarrassed we just left. If we werent entitled to the special then why didnt the bartender tell us that. There were no signs posted about the specials that night and you could have and what you couldnt have. The management is really lacking in good customer skills which will eventually roll down to the staff so dont think I will be going back!

DO NOT GO HERE! This location has the worst service I ever experienced! I live in walking distance to the Wheaton location and have tried to give this place a second chance time and time again. On several ioccasions the servers were no where to be found. On average it takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the server to even stop by the first time and then good luck with them checking in to see if you need another drink. They have never asked me how my food was. On one occasion, I ordered the mussels and they were cold! I complained to the bartender and and the only thing i received was a non-heartfelt appology. I just tried to stop by again. I waited 20 miss for a server and then left. Do not go here. Instead go to the Limerick Pub on Price Ave where they know how to take care of their customers.

I have been going to Bar Louie in Rockville for years, so needless to say I was excited when this one opened up right next to me. I can honestly say that I was blown away by the service during the first week of this place opening up. But the service has consistently been poor ever since and the quality of food served is poor. Staff are not engaging and tend to do their own thing than be attentive to customers. Food prep is totally inconsistent and "assembly line" produced so to speak. I virtually order the same thing and its never good here where as I consistently get the same item well prepared and better service at the Rockville location. This place fundamentally has a operations/quality control issue. The place is physically spacious and nice I have to say.
