I went there the other day and took my wife for our 2yr anniversary. That was my first time going there and I was very impressed! We got there at 7 without a reservation and it was pretty busy. So we checked in with the hostess and she informed me that it would be roughly around a 20min wait unless we wanted to eat at the bar area. But we chose to wait for a table to open up for us. The bartender took our drink order and then as he returned with our drinks one of the wait staff came up and told us that a table was ready for us. As that was the beginning of how the rest of the evening went for us. It seemed that they were short on staff but the staff that was there were working together to still provide above average service to all that I could see. Amongst all of the hungry patrons during this busy time was the owner of the establishment. He was going from table to table talking and providing laughs. I could see that he values us his patrons as do the rest of the staff. The ambiance was very soothing and the food was to die for like the calf that provided my veal. All in all I will be back to enjoy again. Oh I will agree again though that the kitchen help looked Mexican and couldnt speak English as one reviewer pointed out already but they can still cook some good food!!!

If I could give the Brickhouse three and a half stars, I would. Its a nice, neighborhood family-run Italian place. The staff is great, with a cozy dining room and bar, and friendly bartenders. The pizza is terrific, as are many of the pasta and seafood dishes. But prices took a spike recently that put it in another category of restaurant which it aint. I had a fish and shrimp special the other night which was tasty, but only two medium size shrimp on top of the haddock didnt cut it. Would like to see the owner (a local boxing legend) rethink their pricing, especially on pasta items. But its worth checking out Brickhouse if youre in the area.

Was looking forward in spending a great date night with hubby and trying to explore authentic italian food restuarant close from home. Totally disapointed with the service. The hostess was horrible and unwelcoming. We winded having two waitstaff and it almost felt they wanted us to leave. It affected everything overall. I will never go back there and will make sure that our friends and families wont give them any business. I feel sorry if any african american people goes in there because us being latino they made us feel that we must of gotten lost or better yet we were out of place.

Chicken ziti and broccoli in a bread bowl is heaven! I dont really want to tell anyone about this place because its that good. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are great. We love coming here for a casual dinner. My only caution would be that this place gets crowded fast. If you want to eat at prime dinner time, make a reservation. Otherwise, it could be a long wait. The bar area is always full and the people are great. We have met many neighbors and even spotted Mayor Menino here a time or two. Great Italian food in a small house.

Meatballs were undercooked and cold in the middle. It seems like they reheat old food. The host was nowhere to be seen so I got up and went to the kitchen to complain. All kitchen workers looked mexican and nobody understood english. I also observed raw meat and poultry being prepared on the same cutting board with the same knife. This place is an extreme health hazard. Dont risk your health by eating here.

My favs - Calamari - Stuffed Quahog. MMM .Great Chicken Palm - The Salads are very fresh & taste like July all year long. - The Servers are very nice & helpful - The Bar is fun & we like the high top tables as well. If your party is over 4. Call ahead the dinning area is on the smaller side. Its a quaint place. Look both ways crossing the street !

Cute local Italian place, although it looks more like a pub than anything else. Food is ok - not bad, not great. But I have high standards living in NYC, so maybe take my review with a grain of salt. Service is friendly, and the price was right. If Im ever nearby, Id probably come back again.

Been here at least a dozen times and have loved every experience. Food is great, and Ive tried a lot of different options. Staff is nice and friendly, always see the owner chatting up customers. Just wish it was bigger, but that seems to be a good problem to have in the restaurant business.

Ive had dinner here a few times with my family over the past two years ... and we love it! It is a RESTaurant so if youre in a hurry ... slow down. Relax. Enjoy!! How do the Irish say it ... abundanza! ... and yes ... as someone said two years ago ... the food is so good Deo Gratias

Really good, solid red sauce type restaurant. I had the chicken verdiccio with pasta and my husband had eggplant parm with pasta. Very generous servings. The thin crust pizza looked amazing. Next time I will order the pizza with a salad.

Hostess needs to work on customer service. Your front of the house staff exemplifies your overall business so a little more care should be taken when hiring attentive and polite people.

Food was very good and liked the theme of the restaurant. The food did take a little longer than expected after we ordered but the staff were all very friendly which made up for it.

Fresh ingredients, authentic recipes, and genuinely friendly faces make this hole in the wall spot a favorite. Some truly creative expression in the side dishes and desserts.

Do yourself a favor and get the meatballs. Food was pretty darn good and the staff was very helpful, even after multiple questions and special requests of the ktchen.
