Im trying to be as fair as I possibly can. Ive been going to Stables for years, to eat and also to dance. First Id like to comment on the food. Everything Ive ever ordered has been good. The portions are large so I always wind up taking 1/2 of mine home! Plus and this is a sweet plus, the price is within my budget. On a positive note, I will say that new management is working at improving the decor. I was there this past weekend and I noticed that theyve added lights and it looks like theyve repaired the dance floor. Im not sure why but when I go just for the band and sit at a table on the dance floor. I dont get waited on. I sat for 45 minutes without anyone coming up to take my order. I thought if I got my money out, that would tip them off that I wanted to order but it didnt help. I actually touched the waitresses arm as she walked by, she then came back. My guess is, they see a single girl (who doesnt drink) and that translates into not a very large tab. I always tip double to triple because I understand this. As far as the entertainment, I do miss the old bands. We use to line dance (and maybe they still do) but the last few times I went, it was way too loud and it was all Rock. I like Rock but I also like a mix of country. Only deal is, due to it being so loud, you cant talk with anyone until the band takes a break. This past weekend my friend came up from Baltimore and met me at Stables. She kept trying to talk to me but there was no way I could hear her nor her me. After dancing to a few songs, she asked if we could leave and go to the Ott House. I said ok BUT I would much rather stay at Stables. My friend asked for her cover charge back due to the music being too loud. Stables was very nice and gave her cover back. We wound up at the Ott House, which was not near as loud. I would love to ask if maybe Stables could turn the volume down a bit

I have been in a lot of different places and to be honest this is one of the most friendliest places I have ever been in. They make you feel like one of the family. The food is excellent and the service is as well. Now lets be honest here no place is perfect so when I say its excellent that is according to my taste. I would recommend this to everyone. Now if you nay sayers who want to give a bad review before doing so ask yourself these questions first: 1) Did you eat everything? 2) Did you bring your issues to the attention of your server? 3) Did you give the place a chance to make you happy? If you didnt do these things then dont complain. A business can not improve if they are not informed. Of course we know there are some customers who you just can not please to begin with. To those of you who have never been there, give the place a fair chance and trust me when I say "You will be back"

The Stables is always clean and I have always received great service. However, food is always just ok, like I could have made better myself if friends and I didnt want to go to a bar to hang out instead of someones home If it werent that this is basically the only real "bar/honky tonk" with live music in Carroll County, I honestly believe the business would be much slower. The Stables is definitely a staple in Carroll County, and I think if they improved just a bit (possibly even remodeled, or even took they cheap route and redirected with a trip to Michaels) they would dramatically increase the foot traffic in this little spot!

The place in general is okay but the food stunk like theres no tomorrow. The crab cakes got no kind of real crab in them. I got a bowl of cream of crab and all was nothing but cream it was the worst I ever ever ever tasted in my life. The so-called filet mignon was over cooked and didnt even taste like filet mignon. Somebody should get some real Cooks in there to cook because they sure in the hell dont know what theyre doing.

Great food, and really good service! Loved the stuffed flounder and lady friend loved the T-bone steak. But...Wednesday night DJ was an annoyance, loud recorded music kept me from hearing my date, and some team competition had teams with X rated names the DJ called out. Not a family atmosphere. Disappointed overall, but food and service were really good.

I had the stuffed flounder and it was very good. My wife had the steak and crabcake. The steak had a lot of grissle and fat, and the crab cake was smothered in mayo. Not our type of crab cake. Waiter was new and had no idea what beers were available, or what the side dishes were. The table wobbled. Not a great dining experience.

Was there several weeks ago on Friday evening, the French Onion soup was terrible, the salad I had tasted just like the bag it came out of and my husband got the crab pretzel, it had a very fishy taste. The price was high for the quality of food, we will never go there to eat again. JoAnn Thompson

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and service during my first visit to the stables. The hourderve platter was HUGE and worth the price. If you go here, ask if Bonnie is bartending, she makes the best fresh squeezed orange crush!

I really only come here to see bands. They have ok food..nothing great to write about. The staff is very good and friendly. Parking can be tough if a popular band is playing. Low cover charge for live music..only $5 a person

WOW!!! What a restaurant and bar. I have been going there for a little over a year and its always great. The food is always delicious and people are friendly. By far, my favorite place to go!!

Awesome big Cheese burgers, best crispy french fries in town, chicken strips are humongous. The star missing from being a 5 is the bathrooms suck. Only 2 stalls for men.. could be an easy fix!

The new bartender is smoking hot. Is go there just for the eye candy but the drinks are made expertly and the service was excellent. I was on a strict liquid diet but the food smelled amazing.

Definitely an older crowd. They always have a live band but not the best place to dance. Usually charge a cover on weekends for the band. Not sure about the food but drinks are average price

The Reuben is my favorite! Everything is great, with one exception.....the Cream of Crab soup is too thick and pastey....and not much crab meat and didnt taste like crab at all........
