(This review was written in 2013. Updates forthcoming.) Shui Asian Fusion is located in the former KFC/Panda King building on the corner of University and E. Main St. The outside has been painted a nice cream with lime-green trim which definitely makes it stand out in this decidedly gritty area. As you enter the vestibule youre greeted by a floor to ceiling picture of some vague Indian palace scene. Walk through the vestibule and you come to a small, carpeted dining area decorated with Tibetan knick-knacks and prints. The muted color scheme and lighting give the place all the charm of a suburban doctors office. The chest-high counter that serves as the cashiers station coupled with ambient music (peppered with the vaguely Franco Viet vocalizations that are so popular with restaurants of this type) serve to emphasize this atmosphere. The menu is a mix of Thai and Chinese cuisines including the perennial favorites of fried tofu, pad thai, thai basil fried rice and beef with broccoli. I was pleasantly surprised to see mint fried rice as I dont normally see that on Rochester menus. But I wasnt in the mood for mint today. Being that it was a little cooler than usual I decided to try the Tom Kha Gai (spicy coconut soup.) Tom Kha Gai tends to suffer from either too much ginger or coconut milk. Shui Asian Fusion does it exactly right. The rich broth was a perfect vehicle for gobbling up healthy hunks of chicken and mushrooms. The lime juice pulled everything together. I didnt stop slurping until my nose hit the bottom of the bowl. I chose as my entrée the Kwyatio Pad Gai (thai chicken coconut noodle) from the lunch specials menu. This dish was a fine contrast to the soup if you like sticky sweet, al dente noodles with overcooked vegetables. The chicken saved this dish. Overall I think it could be executed better. The service was fast and efficient; with good reason since there was only 1 other table seated. Its barely been 3 weeks since their grand opening. Incidentally, theyre offering 20% off for a limited time. Will I go again? Yes. This place has promise. Id like to try the more traditional Chinese entrees. Its also nice to have an Asian restaurant in this part of town that isnt necessarily catering to tourists. (You know where Im talking about.)

The food is as delicious as any other Thai joint such as Pattaya or Saks. The quantity AND more importantly the quality of the food is outstanding. We had shrimp, boneless duck, beef satays. All were super tasty! The price for the quantity and quality makes this Thai restaurant stand apart from other Thai restaurants in this region! The location is not necessarily visible, however the appearances outside are not indicative of the inside. Their Thai ice tea is really delicious and Im not a tea drinker at all! The food is tasty and reasonably priced. For the location it is easily missed if driving on E. Main St as its right next to the inner loop and the traffic light at location is pretty busy

Day after day I get in my car and drive by a bright yellow building on the corner of University and Main. Every time, I say to myself, "Go there." But! I never do. BUT! Today I did. And let me tell you what a GREAT day this turned out to be for having done so! Opening the door to Shui Asian Fusion, suddenly I found myself in an oasis of atmosphere far away from the hustle and bustle of Rochester. The food was great, the music was right, and the service was very polite and accommodating. All this for some of the most reasonable prices around. Next time you drive by that bright yellow building on the corner of University and Main, go there!

This was NOT authentic Thai at all. I have a Thai family and this is not even close. It looks and taste like fast food chinese food. the only thing that cant complain is that the food was at least hot temperature wise. I came here to try it out because of all the reviews but now I realized that those reviews mean nothing. If you want decent thai food go somewhere else.

After reading all these reviews, we thought it was a good idea to try this place...very bad choice. The food was mediocre, no atmosphere whatsoever...the complete opposite to what we thought it would be. The only plus of this restaurant is the inexpensive prices, but it pretty much matches what you get. Save your time and money and dont come here...its a hole in the wall.

I had ordered form here three times total. First time, everything was fine. Second time, the driver showed up to my house, over an hour late, and I had already left for work. I got compensated though a free meal. Third time I ordered was yesterday. I found multiple bugs in my lo mein, and got sick. Wont be ordering from here again.

First a foremost, the food was absolutely excellent. Probably the some of the best asian food ive ever had....easily. Though our order was incredible, it did show up an hour and a half later. I wont not buy from this place again but I hope our second experience with this place is better than our first.

Delicious food. Dont be fooled by the location or condition of the building. Ive been in Rochester a lot lately, and Ive been slowly making my way to all the Thai restaurants, and the food here is the best Ive had so far. Caution: the Tom Kar Gai soup is spicier than average, but omg so good. =-)

What a great treat after a 6 hour drive. Fresh, light, delicious, everything appeared to be homemade. Im having left overs for breakfast. Driver was quite friendly and patient while I had to put in my leg brace. Ill order from here again when I come back to Rochester.

Went to this place with family, the food was very tasteless and hastily prepared. The place was not clean too. All of us got sick and have a bad stomach after eating food here. Must avoid at all circumstances!

The place might not look good, but after our favorite place in Webster closed, this place won the Penang curry face off. I ordered 10 curries from different places and the Penang curry here won!

Wasnt sure how spicy the food would be but we definitely underestimated it. Everything was delicious and the amount of takeout business made a lot of sense. Will definitely be back.

We order from here twice a month. Best ingredients, best quality, and the delivery drivers are always kind cute and quick. This is where you order real asian food.
