I really try hard to see the good in places but I have a difficult time seeing the upside to Mix. If it werent for this being the only viable bar/restaurant in Silver Spring with multiple TVs showing sports, they would have nothing going for them. The service is absolutely awful and has been consistently so each time I have been there. On more than one occasion, the draft beer has been "broken" during visits. Though the draft beer prices are pretty good when the taps are working. Another issue I have with this place is the noise. There are typically people being loud and yelling and the staff seems to be uninterested in keeping it under control. My last time in, there was a group of six people being really loud and obnoxious, screaming obscenities and generally being disruptive. One of the two bartenders spent most of her time visiting and carrying on with this group rather than tending to the small number of customers at the bar. I later learned the person at the center of this loud group is one of the managers at Mix who was enjoying his time off with his friends. For me, all of this points to mismanagement and ineptitude.

I made reservations at Mix for a family dinner on New Years Eve. The place was very noisy and service was extremely slow. The type face on the menu was so tiny it was nearly impossible to read. My husband ordered Peruvian ceviche, and was told after the server went to place the order that they no longer served it. Why was it on the menu, then? My stepson ordered a French dip sandwich. They told us they had sold out (this was at 7:15 in the evening). The server didnt come back to the table to take his re-order for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the noise kept getting louder and louder as more people arrived, so loud we could barely hear each other talk. My granddaughter had fried chicken that she said tasted like fish, causing her to question whether they fried the fish and chicken in the same oil. My husbands mussels and my burger were okay, but not particularly memorable. Calamari appetizer was pretty good, but the hummus had way too much cumin in it. Definitely will not be going back.

TO BEGIN TO EXPLAIN TO YOU HOW SHITY THIS PLACE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. LET ME BEGIN BY SAYING THAT DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT WALK IN THE DOORS OF THIS BAR/RESTAURANT OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL. FOR STARTERS THEIR PROCESS FOR PRICING DRINKS SEEMS TO BE A GUESSING GAME AS ONE BARTENDER WILL CHARGE YOU ONE PRICE AND THE NEXT WILL CHARGE ANOTHER PRICE FOR THE SAME DRINK. THE DJ SEEMS TO HAVE CHALLENGES AS HE IS UNABLE TO ACTUALLY PLAY DECENT MUSIC. THE WOMENS BATHROOM HAS NOT SEEN A CLEANER FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES AND RUN.IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT ZERO IS NOT PART OF THE RATING SCALE.

USUALLY WHEN I WRITE REVIEWS ITS CAUSE ITS GOING TO BE SOMETHING GOOD AND POSITIVE BUT TODAY I REALLY HAD TO WRITE A BAD REVIEW TOWARDS THIS PLACE. LONG STORY SHORT THIS PLACE HAS THE WORST SECURITY EVER, THE BARTENDERS HAVE NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL!!! ON TOP OF THAT THEY ARE RUDE AS HELL THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE AND ON TOP OF THAT THE PRICES FOR DRINKS ARE OUTRAGEOUS. THEY MAKE IT SEEM LIKE IF THEY WERE A 5 STAR CLUB WHICH THEYRE NOT. SO IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD TIME AND NOT GET YOUR MONEY STOLEN DO NOT GO HERE. WORST PLACE EVER!!!!

DONT GET A HOOKAH. We paid $40 for a hookah, which ran out in less than an hour. We paid $10 for a refill, and then the battery immediately ran out. The chic offered to charge it, and we waited over an hour while she brought hookahs to other tables. Then she tried to tell us it had only been 15 minutes and everyone else preordered their hookah. Shes a thief and a liar. Also, the service is bad, and they add 20% gratuity for parties of one or more.

Enjoyed this place very much. Yes, its noisy, but it is a bar, and essentially a sports bar at that. The noise is as excepted for the environment. The food was good and the beer list was acceptable. The service is very friendly, but at a snails pace. Just prepare for that and hope that things improve. This is a great addition to DTSS, and I will be back.

I loved the atmosphere and our bartender, Jacob, was excellent. He provided a fun and welcoming environment. He was on top of his game with our food and drinks. The guacamole burger was delicious. The place was relaxing. I guess we were there before Happy Hour. Ill definitely come back!

Lovely ambiance. Its a pretty calm place so I like that. Ive had two of their cocktails and theyre quite yummy. I will say, unless its during happy hour food pricing for this place seems to be a overpriced for the quality provided.

The food here is ok, but what keeps bringing me back are the drink specials. Thursday is HH all day, and they also started Ladies Night on Thursday, where you can drink all you want off the HH menu for $10!

Great happy hour food menu. The sliders and cheese steak egg rolls are very good. The beer menu leaves a bit to be desired, but its ok if you like the usual beers like Sam Adams, yuengling, and blue moon.

I will never step into this place again. Bartender wouldnt give me change to pay my server, beers were flat and lacked taste. Server was sweet and did what she could, but subpar drinks and food. Avoid!

The fried chicken and spring rolls were delicious! We especially enjoyed when the DJ came on mixing early 2000 hip-hop, reggae, reggeaton and todays hip-hop songs. We are definitely going to be back!
