I wanted to give a zero star review but it didnt have a option. We called and asked before we went to the reastaurant that if they have ZABIHA HALAL meat, the guy who answered said let me check and some female came on the line and said yes. So we drove there and walked in with kids and the whole restaurant was empty as soon as we walked in and before sat down the guy waiter seems like the owner son asked what we like to drink. We didnt even sit down and look the the menu and said pepsi, we order 9 pepsi drinks as they didnt have a pitcher. Then lady that seems like the owner wife came and asked for the order. We again asked her about where they order the meat and if it is zabiha halal as we dont see anything by the cashier counter if it is zabiha halal . She said owner knows he is the one who orders it. I said can you please ask him. Right then with a angry tone and attitude she said if you guys are having issue with the meat dont order here and leave. I said back can i please speak to your manager and she said i am the manager. I replied back you are very rude you dont know how to speak to your customers and i would like to speak to your owner. Right then owner comes out and wife speaks in her language. I said excuse me this restaurant is empty and your supposly manager is behaving very rude with your customers we were just asking about if meat was ZABIHA HALAL or not and she showed us the doors. He didnt say a word not even a sorry. I said you dont have a word to say that means your meat isnt ZABIHA HALAL and we are leaving. Ohoo in between this her son bought us the pepsi drinks and put it on the table, but no one touched it. So when we about to leave she says you need to pay for the pepsi drinks. I said no one has touched it and as you were rude and i am not going to pay as i didnt even touch the menu as you didnt even bring it out. She said it was $2.50 for a glass of pepsi i said you serious? You can ask the guy who order it if we even saw the menu. He comes out and guess what he says mom they didnt see the menu but, she says you need to pay. All 3 standing there and i said i never had such a bad experience i aint going to pay $27 just for drinks that we didnt even drink. Then my dad said i am going to pay and we will leave, i said no need to but my dad wouldnt listen. Asked them if we can get a paper glass or to go glass were we can take it with us. They said they didnt have one. My dad paid $27 for no reason. There services and price range are extremely high. They run a family business and dont know how to behave with there customers. Please take my advice and DO NOT GO!!!

If only there was an option for ZERO stars! While I was visiting Chicago I popped on in to Taj Mahal to grab dinner...horrible mistake. The only imaginable way the staff could have been more rude would have been if a drunken sloth had a gun to their head and was egging them on to verbally attack their customers. My meat was RAW, there was a hair in my food, the place was filthy, my bread was burned and I saw a convoy of insects making a path on the floor along the wall. As I approached the register to complain I interrupted the woman in mid stream nose picking! This was the very same woman that handed me my food! I was going to ask for a replacement meal until I lost sight of her index finger in her right nostril but at that moment decided in the interest of my heath to simply ask for a refund. She argued with me and even pointed that criminal finger at me. NEVER AGAIN WOULD I STEP FOOT IN THIS JOINT...NEVER.

We ordered pick up and the guy asked us how spicy we would like our food. We asked how the medium was and he said it had no spice at all and suggested we get it hot if we like a bit of spice. Should have never listened to his advice. We literally could not even eat the food and we have authentic Indian food all the time. My tounge, lips, throat, and gums were burning so badly I swear it felt like they were bleeding. Unless you are a bit twisted do not order their food hot. The guy who told us we should get it hot must be eating ghost peppers for breakfast. Very upset. Waste of money.

I will not say that the Taj Mahal serves the tastiest or the most authentic Indian food, but it is not bad either. The best thing is that they have a buffet during lunch and dinner hours. The service is quite good. I quite liked the owner/manager. She seems a warm and an inviting person. The food, as I said, was okay. Although, in all fairness, I only had the vegetarian dishes and I thus cant comment on the meat dishes. All in all, it is a good place if you want a quick bite at affordable prices.

My family and I have gone to this restaurant for many years. All these negative reviews do not sound like they are addressing the same restaurant. I have been to many Indian restaurants in the US and in Europe and Taj Mahal, Orland Park is one of the better ones. They are polite, friendly and their food is one of the best. We actually went there again today to celebrate a birthday day. Their setting is still very clean, service is friendly and professional and the food us great as usual.

I was hesitant to leave the comfort of my tired and true favorite, but this place did not let me down. The food was very well prepared. The meat was tender whether it was chicken or beef. Every curry was seasoned well and fresh. No cold or empty trays, everything was filled and ready for consumption. My mango yogurt drink was the very best Ive had in a while. While the space is cozy it is very inviting. Good food, good service, cozy place.

Food is good, but the management is extremely rude. Walked in to pick up food and my sister grabbed one mint from the front table. The owner yelled at my whole family across the restaurant saying we were being disrespect for stealing mints and if we wanted one we had to be paying customers, as I was handing over my credit card to pay for the food we ordered!! Uncalled for behavior all over cheap candy, not worth the time.

The staff is very nice and friendly. The atmosphere is different. Its very quiet. I ordered take out. My chicken dish was very good... my husbands beef kabob not so good. The Naan was a little dry. The rice was cooked perfectly. If it had cost less I probably wouldnt have minded as much... rice should be included. Its rice and the average plate is like $13. Just a suggestion. Or include the Naan.

Worst Indian restaurant in Chicago land area but this is the only Indian restaurant in South suburbs so they are surviving. I know south suburbs are boring and not as happening as West or North burbs but still you are better off not trying Indian food than going here. Masala in Warrenville is the best Indian restaurant in Chicago land area. Like full 360 degrees opposite to this place.
