My family and I love eating at this place... have been for a couple of years. The food that we order on a regular are simple dishes. For example: sweet and sour pork, garlic chicken, house chowmein, pork fried rice, beef broccoli, and honey walnut prawns(our fave)!! Granted we dont order more exotic dishes, these ones are always good. I think the customer service is pretty good considering the Chinese culture. Im not trying to be rude or offend anyone, all Im saying is that, we the American culture, expect to be catered to. Smile, greeting, customer is always right ect... but there focus I feel is more towards their tasks. They work very hard. And want to make sure that we get everything we ordered. They are never sitting down or just conversationting with one another unless officially on break. I think they are more worried about getting the food out than making their customers feel pampered. Not to say that they dont listen. They do very well. But you can tell that they have lots to do and are always multitasking. And I feel our American culture we are more accustomed to how we felt or were treated rather than how the food tasted. I do agree a little with some previous posts regarding the female employees in the front. They can seem rude but I think its just the same idea. They are very busy and have lots to do. They are answering phones, taking orders, seating people, packing the to go orders... so I dont think they mean to be rude. Just that they are more focused on their long lists of tasks than how they come off sometimes. I think a couple things that would make this restaurant over the top would be: 1. Cleanliness Making sure that all cooks are wearing hair nets, the dishes are spot clean, and the bathrooms are cleaned more often. 2. Freshness I dont eat the fresh fish or lobster, crab that they have swimming in the front but I have noticed that they are in the worst of conditions. The water in the tank is always merky, fishes almost always have sores on them, they look very unhealthy and I would not want to serve that to my customers let alone eat it. 3. Better system of order If everyone had One job to do this place would run a lot smoother. And would have time to be more courteous to customers. Ex. A hostess designated specifically to welcoming customers and seating them. A bus boy that went and cleaned up/off tables as needed. A server assisting the waiters/waitresses to serve the food and drinks. A server in the front to serve to go customers and package orders. And a person on the phone taking orders. Also one thing they could stand to use is a floor manager. A individual thats sole purpose is to make sure that things are flowing well. Customers are being seated, orders are taken in order of arrival time, food is being brought out accordingly, and that over all customers are happy. 4. Updated decor I think the ceiling and walls testify to the essence of their culture and their restaurant but the furniture and flooring, as well as counter tops, bathrooms could use some serious TLC. 5. Decluttering Lastly, decluterring the spaces that are visible to their customers. Ive noticed open areas used for storage of unused items. I think this would really help to open up the space and help it to be more applealing to the eye and also more functional and appropriate. Anyway, Im no professional and this is just my opinion and honest thoughts. But I thought Id share. Best wishes, Me:)

We just left this place. I did read the reviews befoe going and originally thought that the person who gave it 2 stars was just being jerky. However, after eating here I whole heartidly agree- the service stinks. No one really smiles or is friendly or welcoming. The broccoli was way under cooked, my bbq pork was DRY, and the sweet and sour pork and pork fried rice were ok but not great. I thought about going back to try what was on the dim sum carts one weekend because it looked YUMMY but right before arriving home I started feeling very sick. I think this is a very popular restaurant due to many of its customers having under developed pallets, people are USED to mediocre food. They dont know what truely good food tastes like therefore they really cant be expected to expect anything better. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

This place is awful! The worst service known to man, especially the manager. Just bcuz the Yan can cook guy visited ur restaurant doesnt mean ur food is good! The worst Chow Mein and Lemon chicken ever! I will never patron this place. If this is the best in Stockton for Chinese cuisine, who the hella did the review. I had way better food & service at Thunder Valley Casino!

I dont understand all of the bad reviews. The food and service have always been great every time I come here. Jimmy is a great waiter and remembers my name now when I come in. The portion sizes are very generous and we are always amazed at how affordable everything is. It isnt the most delicious food Ive ever had but for the price, it is awesome.

Food was spoiled and half the dishes tasted sour like rotten. I had diarrhea all night after eating there. The other dishes were either too salty or super plain. The cook must be either new or has no idea what hes doing. Service is terrible to be expected at a Chinese restaurant. The ingredients are of very poor quality. Beware.

China Palace serves the BEST Mongolian Beef in the Central Valley. Ive been to many Chinese restaurants in California and this restaurant is the best place for this dish. For just under $9, you could get Mongolian Beef with rice and soup and a drink of your choice. Great value! Great food! Good customer service!

Hidden jewel in Stockton! Super fresh and delicious food for a great price. Service is usually very quick, but Sunday lunch there is packed. Total mad house. If you order dim sum on Sundays its much faster. Their food is always top notch. Won a best 100 food award in 2007 from Martin Yan.

My familys go to banquet restaurant for events. Their traditional Chinese dishes are very good. Not a fan of American style dishes but if you want more authentic food this is a good place to eat. Lobster black bean and black mushrooms and bok choy are my standards.

I read the reviews but decided to go anyway. And, it was ok. Grade = C We had wonton soup which was very good, pot stickers which were doughy, pork fried rice which was salty, cashew chicken which was bland. The decor was fascinating however. ;-)

Waitress was nice but had to wait awhile before being acknowledged... Food was very poor... Liked the decor.... Found better food at a dusty, tiny place called Far East on Wilson Way.. Far East far outshines China Palace with their Kung Pao

Waited over 30 min for dim sum. Granted this was dinner time and I asked them if they still serves and said yes. There was no indication that it would take so long. I only ordered a few dishes. Would not return again.

Addisons was an unbelievable experience. So much detail put in the service and the food. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy. I would have to say this has been one of my best places to dine in San Diego!
