My experience at Jim Dandys occurred on a Sunday afternoon, right as a lot of churches let out. This was by far one of the most ghetto trips I have made for food in recent memory, but man was it worth it! The ordering experience was interesting as you can barely hear the person taking your order through the thick bulletproof glass. The chicken...this was some of the best fried chicken I have ever had and I have definitely had a good amount of fried chicken in my life. We also got onion rings, which were well done, but not the best ever. I am definitely making a trip down the 110 again to get some more Jim Dandys soon!

I have to agree with most of the locals this place looks like a dump, I mean where do I start the parking lot establishment Decour it looks like LA County Jail lunch facility for god sakes. However everyone is right it is better than KFC and many other chicken fry places. But what can you do and what can you say about this place that hasnt been said before its local its cheap and its good and if youre into fry food will you found the place and good luck to your diet going to hell. And yes this is a five star review.

Absolutely amazing chicken! They make it Peruvian style and it is to die for. I live about 1 HR away but every time I come to Concord my first stop is here. I usually order one to eat at the restaurant with my family and take another to go (it refrigerates well for up to 1 week). Also, this place has excellent prices, friendly and fast service. I wish they would open a restaurant in San Ramon / Pleasanton Area.

Chicken is very tasty! I ordered half chicken in mild, medium, and hot. Arrived at 10:40am on a Wednesday and got my order at 12:45pm.. line was two hour wait time. The service was great, friendly, and cooks were enthusiastic. Aside from ridiculously long wait, it was was definitely really good chicken with good flavor! I preferred the white meat to the dark.

Old school fast food restaurant since 1969. This is an advance warning that this place is to go only, they have no seating, unless you plan on eating in your car. I ordered the two piece combo which comes with one side, I wanted the fritters. The food was really good and especially for under $5, this place isnt going anywhere because its very popular.

I cannot get over the fact there are so many layers of glass, I could NOT hear wtf the old white man said & it was frustrating. Im guessing the speakers didnt work. The chicken skin was good & crispy, but the meat was overcooked though it wasnt bad. The texture threw me off.

The best fried chicken in town. I was referred to the place by a friend. He said it the best fried chicken. I went one day, I was curious yet skeptical. Turns out, he was right and now Im hooked. I ordered the four piece, spicy with corn fritters. It was all so good.

This is one place that has not lost its touch and taste the same as when I first tasted it 25 years ago in Denver, Co. I love the spicy chicken, its way better then KFC!!!! Not to mention its real. The chicken rice and corn fritters are excellent! I go there often.

This is close to fried chicken perfection. Even for a big piece with chicken breast, the outer skin is crisp and inside meat is moist. Tried it here twice and both times we finished eating inside of the car. This is how every fried chicken supposed to be made!

Still the BEST cheapest chicken specials. 5.00 will get you 2pc side and 2 rolls. But the menu gets better. Thats just what got. Chicken is fried old school style. Chicken does not come seasoned, So you might ask for salt or put some on.

Had a misunderstanding about 2 months ago over catch up but all is resolved since then I have to say they have improved tremendously with the customer service the price and chicken is still great

I love this place. Fresh fast food. The chicken stay fresh, its not sitting under the heat lamp for hours, like most places. There is almost always a line, but not a long wait.

I dont suggest the fritters. They are crispy outside and dough-e inside. The chicken was as good as churchs chicken , fries were not fully cooked.. Staff is nice.
