Pricey food is decent, but I wouldnt call it outstanding. This was our first time here. After reading other reviews, I felt like we might check it out, so we went for dinner. We easily found the place and were seated right away. My wife ordered Bangers and Mash, my daughter ordered the chicken tenders appetizer, and I, the Rib and Mac (the exact name escapes me). When the waitstaff brought the order, I wasnt impressed by the $18 soup size bowl which was placed in front of me. While I dont expect a feast for $18, I would expect more than a 1/4 lb of curly pasta, topped with about 2-3 ounces of chopped stew beef. The flavor of the meat was very good, and the meat was tender. I found the breadcrumbs which coated the pasta to be a little thick but the pasta was very well cooked. Though the exact type of cheese coating the pasta, was not immediately clear, I did find it matched well with the flavor of the meat. My wife and daughter decided to order the only dessert which they had, fried oreos. I didnt have any of these, but my wife and daughter liked them very much. As we walked away after paying our bill, I asked our 18 year old daughter and my wife for an honest assessment of our experience. All three of us agreed that it while the flavors are less than spectacular, they are better than a lot of other places we have tried. However, with our $72.00 bill, we all agreed that there are much better places to go if we want to spend that much on dinner.

I dont like bars. Drunks give me the creeps. Until I started going to Reds I didnt understand what a wonderful thing a regular neighborhood pub was. Its just small enough to be cozy. The atmosphere is so unaffectedly Irish as to feel completely natural - cork, wood, stone, a touch of brass. Theres a nice mix of locals and visitors, always something different, always someone familiar. The deck and bar hold just enough people to be social. Busy nights can get pretty loud, but the music is good, and the people are friendly. Im not sure if its a great recommendation to say its a great bar for someone who doesnt like bars. But if they won me over, Id say youve got a good shot at a good time. Oh, and the bangers and mash is good, and the cranberry bread pudding and whiskey sauce is brilliant. I think its only around the holidays. I dont like beer that much, but if I did Reds passport book for beers around the world would be one of my favorite things.

I eat at Barley Republic Irish Pub often. Ive never been disappointed. Their food is great and reasonably priced. LOVE the ribbon fries, shepherd pie, fish n chips, raw bar, burger and several others. Service is always top-notch. Sitting at the bar is fun, as I almost always meet and participate in lively conversations with interesting travelers and locals . The pub has thoughtfully selected beer options and plenty of spirits. *Look for the owner "Red" hes often working behind the bar, and will always make you feel at home. As a local, Barley Republic is one of my "go-to" spots. A true neighborhood pub; quaint, authentic and perfect for feeling part of the local crowd. If youre interested in "chillaxing" with friends, or meeting new ones.... Go to Barley Republic Irish Pub for delicious fare, awesome beverages and great times!

Good draft beer selection but better bottle beer selection. A lot of personality to this place. Its small but very quaint and comfortable. Ask for JB, he knows his beers, is friendly and provides great service! The food is great as well and that can be hard to find. I got the Cesar salad and it was dressed perfectly it had just the right amount of dressing. My wife got the arugula salad and it was super fresh. Its traditional Irish/English fare but its good! If you are in the old historic district you are not going to want to pass this place up.

The first time we ate at the pub it was amazing. The fries were perfect, burgers cooked just right, and the ambiance was parallel to a Dublin dive. On the contrary, the subsequent times we have frequented the pub were quite horrid. Our service was awful, burgers burnt, and the bar was nothing more than a slobfest populated by college has-beens and drunkards alike. It seems as though the best hours to visit are after midnight when the rush has died down, and to avoid the other operating hours like the plague itself. I would NOT recommend overall.

They have the "Best Burgers" and the fried Oreo Cookie dessert is to die for. Everything is cooked fresh to order and may take a few extra minuets, but so worth the wait. Thier beer selection is by far one of the best with beers from around the world as well as domestic and local brews. They also serve food late night till 12am on weekends when usually most places are closed for food. I have to say the owner and staff have it together as Ive been going for years and the service is still continually Superb. A++++

Great selection of drinks and beers. Also very good, friendly and quick service. And the best thing: the first place Ive encountered in the world that really manages to serve a medium-rare burger. Seriously, every other place Ive tried (and it must be dozens) either served it totally raw or just normal medium. Give the guy responsible a medal (or a raise, yeah, give him a raise). Also check out the new benches outside, they are very comfortable. The guy who made them hangs out there and is a nice guy ;-)

Good beer and great food. Bartender very friendly and prices are not too bad. Got recommended by a local because I want to stay away from the tourist traps. Not disappointed. Guys sitting at the bar in skirts, gives it an authentic feel lol. Tap choices are Guinness, Haarp, Jammer Gose (was out when I visited), Bold City Brewery Screaming Circle, Golden Monkey, Kentucky Honey Barrell, Two Brothers IPA, Abita Strawberry, Magelners Irish Cider, Kilkenny Irish Beer. Bathrooms are very nice.

I really wanted to like this place, and it had 2 positives. The bartender/server was extremely friendly and helpful and the draft selection was good and very cold. Unfortunately the food was awful. The ribbon truffle "fries" were actually over-cooked chips. We got the lamb and boar burgers and they were painfully over cooked despite being ordered medium. We were the only folks there so they could have taken time to prepare our food better. I was really disappointed. Oh well.

Great food and a large selection of beers and spirits. The lamb burger and wild boar burger were a pleasant change from the standard pub fare without being too fancy. The server was pleasant and we got our food in a reasonable amount of time. We went for dinner at about 8:30pm on a Wednesday and there was no wait for a table even though the outdoor patio seemed pretty full. I would recommend this place especially if youre looking for good beer with good food.

Although this is pub they also serve some food. Later on the evening this seems to be the only place in town still serving. We had around midnight a burger. The (lamb and a normal) burger where not to bad but did not pass the burgers McDonalds serving. The vegetarian burger was despicable. The cook probably used by accident way to much vinegar for spicing the zucchini :-( The girl who served us did a great job. Better than I expected from this pub.
